A field-of-view constrained impact time control guidance law, considering time-varying velocity, is proposed based on a neural network and a special switch function. First, a dataset containing the time-to-go and initial states of missile is obtained by simulating possible engagement scenarios, utilizing a biased proportional navigation guidance law as the nominal guidance strategy. To achieve an accurate estimation of time-to-go essential for impact time control, the neural network is employed to fit the highly nonlinear relationship between the time-to-go and initial states. Subsequently, the field-of-view constraint is achieved by employing a special switch function. When the leading angle approaches its maximum value, the proposed guidance law will return to the nominal guidance law, ensuring that the field-of-view constraint is satisfied throughout the engagement. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed guidance law can achieve impact time control with field-of-view constraint under time-varying velocity.

With the ageing of the world population, Do-It-Yourself approaches and Smart Personal Assistant are combined to provide customised systems that help people in their daily lives, including fostering their self-reliance and promoting ageing in place, even when these people have cognitive disabilities or perceptual impairments such as "Alzheimer" disease. Ambient Assisted Living systems which rely on this combination can also help caregivers reduce their workload by giving them much relevant information about the health status and the situation of the patients at home, and, furthermore, by giving them facilities to create home automation scenarios to assist the patients. A scenario is the arrangement of daily activities in order to achieve a particular goal. In this paper, we propose a new approach to creating assistance scenarios through voice command, involving two types of ontologies, a smart home ontology (OntoDomus) and a knowledge graph of an activity/action extracted from a scenario in the form of structured knowledge. In particular, we leverage ontology alignment to process voice requests in order to create an assistance scenario for the elderly.

Optimal behaviours of a system to perform a specific task can be achieved by leveraging the coupling between trajectory optimization, stabilization, and design optimization. This approach is particularly advantageous for underactuated systems, which are systems that have fewer actuators than degrees of freedom and thus require for more elaborate control systems. This paper proposes a novel co-design algorithm, namely Robust Trajectory control with Design optimization (RTC-D). An inner optimization layer (RTC) simultaneously performs direct transcription (DIRTRAN) to find a nominal trajectory while computing optimal hyperparameters for a stabilizing time-varying linear quadratic regulator (TVLQR). RTC-D augments RTC with a design optimization layer, maximizing the system's robustness through a time-varying Lyapunov-based region of attraction (ROA) analysis. This analysis provides a formal guarantee of stability for a set of off-nominal states. The proposed algorithm has been tested on two different underactuated systems: the torque-limited simple pendulum and the cart-pole. Extensive simulations of off-nominal initial conditions demonstrate improved robustness, while real-system experiments show increased insensitivity to torque disturbances.
