Power carrier communication has the advantages of convenient access and wide distribution. However, ensuring the efficiency and reliability of data transmission is a problem that cannot be ignored. In order to solve the problem of high concurrent data transmission, this paper designs the protocol at the MAC layer, realizes the hybrid access mode of TDMA and CSMA, and configures the fast automatic retransmission request mechanism. At the same time, the system architecture is optimized. In the aspect of fault-tolerant mechanism, this paper adopts technologies such as multiple backup, error-correcting coding and fault recovery. At the same time, using error correction coding technology, redundant information is added in the data transmission process. In addition, a fault detection and recovery mechanism is established to ensure that the system can quickly resume normal operation when a fault occurs. In this paper, the transmission rate of the experimental group is stable above 700 bps, and the highest reaches 779 bps, while the data transmission rate of the control group is relatively low. In the aspect of anti-interference ability and reliability, the packet loss rate of the system with optimization method is generally lower than that of the system without method, and the bit error rate is also controlled. In the verification of fault tolerance, multiple backup technology and fault recovery mechanism show strong fault tolerance in the face of node failure and data transmission error. The high concurrent data transmission and fault-tolerant mechanism of power carrier communication system proposed in this paper improves the performance of the system in complex environment and provides a solid technical guarantee for the stable operation of smart grid.
