In a decentralized Process Management System, several process engines cooperate to execute a single process instance by using direct Machine-to-Machine communication and local coordination of the process flow. In this paper, we analyze the software architecture elements of a decentralized Process Management System. We explain the involved components, connectors, data, and the relationships between them. We also describe the state transitions of decentralized processes during execution.

It is well known that energy has become one of the essential factors for the development of human civilization. As a new type of energy source, fusion energy is considered to be the most promising and effective way to solve future energy problems. With the continuous research in this field, the current types of pulse experiments have gradually developed into long-pulse experiment operation mode. This paper designs a data acquisition and control system (DACS) in order to meet the requirements of high-speed data acquisition and efficient storage in the context of long-pulse experiments. This system designs a new data transmission and storage management mode to enable the interaction between LabVIEW and MDSplus, making it suitable for multi-channel high-speed data acquisition experiments in long-pulse mode. Besides, DACS uses MDSip and HTTP network communication protocols to transmit control signals and experimental data. As for human-machine interaction, it adopts a combination of local and remote interactions to satisfy the requirements of different situations. It also devises a suitable algorithm to solve the concurrent processing problem of double platforms. The design of this system can accomplish the tasks of monitoring and control as well as real-time processing and storage of experimental data in long-pulse experiments, improving the overall level of automation of the system. © 2024 IEEE.

The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) has become a crucial technology driving the transformation of manufacturing towards intelligence. Traditional industrial networks primarily focus on data collection, whereas emerging IIoT emphasizes intelligent management and optimized control utilizing advanced technologies such as big data and artificial intelligence. With the more complex application scenarios, sole reliance on cloud computing fails to meet requirements for low latency and high security, thus leading to a trend towards edge-cloud collaborative computing. Knowledge-Defined Networking (KDN) introduces a knowledge plane above the control and data planes, which utilizes machine learning and deep learning methods to extract and analyze data and can guide the control plane in updating and optimizing network management and control decisions. This architecture enables the system to understand domain knowledge, supports knowledge-based reasoning decisions, and facilitates higher-level intelligent applications. This paper proposes a Knowledge-Defined Edge-Cloud Collaborative IoT architecture tailored for industrial monitoring scenarios. Therein, the edge is responsible for initial real-time data processing, while the cloud handles large-scale data storage and complex analytics. Knowledge definition are introduced into the entire framework and enables a comprehensive understanding of equipment status through historical data analysis and real-time feedback, which facilitates predictive issue identification and optimization of production plans. The enabling technologies that can implement the functions of the knowledge-based cloud, knowledge-based edge, knowledge-based end, and interfaces are summarized, which are expected to provide guidance for future IIoT. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

In an electric vehicle, there is a system which plays an important part due to its capability of overseeing and regulating the cycles of power storage units, specifically the charging and discharging processes. The main aim of this system is optimizing the performance, and improve the efficiency and longevity of the energy storage units by safeguarding them from damage caused by fluctuations in voltage, temperature, and current. This paper provides detailed insights into the calculation of the rate of charge for these power storage units i.e., batteries, utilizing data derived from graphs and plot the relationship between voltage and time during charging and discharging phases. The study also explores and compares the prominent methods used for calculation of state of charge, demonstrating accuracy in achieving high efficiency. Additionally, this paper highlights the preference of using other method over Kalman filtering in normal scenarios. © 2024 IEEE.

The expansion of power communication network scale and the deployment of smart grid have brought massive data and computational pressure to operation and maintenance center. Edge computing technology can alleviate the pressure of the power grid management platform to process massive data and reduce the computational cost, and help the operation and maintenance personnel to efficiently complete the defect diagnosis and maintenance. Focusing on the operation and maintenance process of power communication network under the new ecology of edge computing, a technical scheme of power communication network defect diagnosis based on edge computing architecture and knowledge map technology is proposed. In order to improve the traditional rule-based defect diagnosis technology and improve its reliability and efficiency,The system combines a variety of intelligent methods to realize the defect diagnosis under the edge computing architecture, and realizes the timely detection and dispatch maintenance of defects through the analysis of equipment alarm logs and the tracking of network topology. © 2022 SPIE

This paper presents a comprehensive approach to the development of an efficient control system for smart homes, addressing the issues of previous smart home systems, including automation, compatibility, and user-friendliness. Here, we design a smart home control system based on the principles of usercentric design and adaptive smart home systems. After identifying the gaps in previous smart home dashboards, it introduces the floating panel concept and recommender systems in the proposed smart home dashboard. Web development technologies such as JavaScript, HTML, and CSS are also used for seamless user experiences across different operating systems and platforms. The implementation of the proposed smart home system control is expected to improve the overall user experience and encourage more potential smart home users. Performance metrics in the proposed dashboard were substantially improved, with reduced loading times and higher performance scores;First Contentful Paint (FCP) reduced from 3.9 seconds to 1.2 seconds and Largest Contentful Paint (LCP) from 5 seconds to 1.3 seconds. The Total Blocking Time (TBT) for the proposed dashboard is 0 ms, improving by 310 ms over the benchmark. © 2024 IEEE.

For the practical fixed-time average consensus problem in a first-order nonlinear faulty MAS with disturbances under switching topologies, on the basis of a dynamic event-triggered system, a fixed-time consensus method is suggested. This consensus protocol enables the MAS to achieve consensus more rapidly while conserving more resources. The fixed-time consensus control algorithm’s convergence time, which may be adjusted by selecting the right controller parameters, is independent of the initial state, in contrast to finite-time consensus control algorithms. Additionally, the protocol allows for the online generation of new communication topologies in the event of system failures. Lastly, simulation experiments are used to confirm the algorithm’s viability and efficacy. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Legal document processing is one of the main areas where technology has advanced significantly, thanks to the introduction of deep contextual analysis and automation. The goal of this work is to improve the performance of Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERTs) algorithms in deep contextual analysis, with a particular focus on legal document processing. The effort aims to increase the accuracy and efficiency of BERT-based models in capturing complex legal situations, enabling automation in the reading and analysis of documents. By means of meticulous tuning, attention mechanism modifications, and investigation of ideal hyperparameters, our refined BERT algorithms demonstrate exceptional contextual comprehension and document processing skills. The acquired results show considerable improvements over the baseline BERT models in terms of speed and accuracy. In legal document analysis tasks, the enhanced algorithms produce a significant decrease in processing time while retaining or exceeding the high accuracy and recall of the original model. The study suggests optimizing BERT algorithms for improved efficiency in legal document processing, leading to increased productivity and automated contextual analysis in the legal sector The Python implementation of the BERT-based legal document processing system achieves an accuracy of 92%. ©2024 IEEE.
