This paper studies computing the l(infinity)-induced norm of multi-input/multi-output (MIMO) linear time-invariant (LTI) discrete-time systems, which is called the l(1) analysis problem. Because such a computation involves an infinite-dimensional matrix, this paper employs a truncation idea to approximately deal with the l(1) analysis problem. More precisely, this paper develops two methods for computing the l(infinity)-induced norm, in which upper bounds and lower bounds of the l(infinity)-induced norm are derived on the truncated treatment. Furthermore, it is shown that the gaps between the computed upper and lower bounds converge to 0 at an exponential rate of N, where N is the truncation parameter. Finally, a numerical exampled is provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the developed computation methods.

Software Delined Networking (SDN) has paved the way for cost effective, energy efficient, and flexible and dynamic network structure. In SDN, a controller sets routing path for the data plane consisting of several switches. If an incoming packet is not known to a switch, the switch needs to invoke the controller, in turn the controller facilitates forwarding path for that packet. In case when a station is mobile (e.g., mobile phone or laptop), the controller needs to update the SDN forwarding path whenever the Mobile Terminal (MT) gets attached with a new switch. This will result in increasing location update overhead at not only the controller but also all the intermediate switches between the main controller and Leaf Switch (LS). Some of the existing research efforts consider both SDN forwarding path update and Layer 3 location update whenever a MT attaches with a new LS. In our study, we have realized that if mobile IP over SDN is managed, a network operator will end up imposing additional location update cost. In this paper, a novel overlay SDN topology is proposed in order to manage location update of MTs. In this contribution, a MT maintains its location update with a Root Switch (RS), which is in charge of tracking location of MTs within a cluster of cells, as long as the MT stays within the cluster (regional area). However, if the MT moves out of the regional area, in our proposal, there will be a location update at the main controller. Results obtained through numerical analysis reveal that proposed overlay topology based location update mechanism in SDN can lead to reduced location update cost noticeably.

This paper considers mobile computation offloading in fog-radio access networks (F-RAN), where multiple mobile users offload their computation tasks to the F-RAN through a number of fog nodes [a.k.a. enhanced remote radio heads (RRHs)]. In addition to communication capability, the fog nodes are also equipped with computational resources to provide computing services for users. Each user chooses one fog node to offload its task, while each fog node may simultaneously serve multiple users. Depending on computational burden at the fog nodes, the tasks may be completed at the fog nodes or further offloaded to the cloud via fronthaul links with limited capacities. To complete all the tasks as fast as possible, a joint optimization of radio and computational resources of F-RAN is proposed to minimize the maximum latency of all users. This problem is formulated as a mixed integer nonlinear program (MINP). We first show that the MINP can be reformulated as a continuous optimization problem with a difference-of-convex (DC) objective. Then, an inexact DC algorithm is proposed to handle the min-max problem with stationary convergence guarantee. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm outperforms the minimum distance-based and the random-based offloading strategies.

In this paper, an enhanced SDP-Dynamic bloom filters for a DDS node discovery scheme in real-time distributed systems is proposed. Since the previous works of the DDS focuses more on the usage of a Simple Discovery Protocol (SDP) for endpoint to endpoint information communication of industrial scale networks, attempts have now been made to enhance this approach into the Simple Discovery Protocol Dynamic Bloom Filters (SDP-Dynamic Bloom) focusing more on scalability in the amount of sent and stored message packets in the industrial network system. Simulation result show that the proposed scheme viciously reduces the overall computing and processing time of both stable and unstable industrial network environment which arises during the restructuring process of the existing SDP bloom filters approach.
