In the scientific research work of universities, the demand of teachers and graduate students for remote experiment and office is becoming more and more common. The third-party remote control services currently used by most teachers and students have risks such as traffic leakage, so it is necessary to build a stable and secure remote access scheme. This paper mainly designs and implements a remote control service based on the Microsoft RDP protocol through traffic forwarding and P2P technology. Through the deployment of this service, the network traffic of teachers and students when conducting remote experiment and office is no longer restricted by third-party providers, which greatly improves information security.

For firms competing in markets characterized by short life cycles, quick changeover of manufacturing processes from one product generation to the next is critical. Longer changeovers delay a firm's market entry. As a firms's market entry time is delayed, its opportunity to accumulate demand is diminished. The extent to which demand is lost reflects the market entry time of the firm's competitor. A model is introduced to explicitly examine the effect of uncertainty associated with a competitor's market entry time on both manufacturing and marketing strategies. We introduce a new conceptual framework to investigate the underlying structure of network bottlenecks in maxmin fair flow control. It is shown that a network has a hierarchical structure with regard to its bottlenecks. The number, H, of network bottleneck levels is proved to be no greater than the number, K, of network bottleneck rates. It is also shown that H can be much smaller than K. We propose a new computational model of maxmin fair rate allocation based on the structural property of network bottlenecks. It is shown that in comparison with a widely used computational model, this one provides a better description of the convergence processes of a class of distributed maxmin fair rate allocation (DMFRA) algorithms. As a natural outcome, we also obtain new and tighter upper bounds on the convergence time of these algorithms.

COVID-19 has raised the demand for non-contact interactions in most areas of human activities. One of the core technologies for non-contact interactions is telepresence that can provide truly immersive interactions between remote participants. Many telepresence approaches rely on avatar technology to provide realistic and immersive telepresence experience and hence a lot of research has been conducted on the topic of avatar creation. However, it is difficult to host avatar technology on user devices because of extremely large data and computation requirements. Cloud-based services can provide sufficient resources to manage avatars but the physical distance between the user and the cloud server introduces latencies that adversely affect service quality. In this paper, we propose a telepresence system design suitable for the multi-access edge computing (MEC) environment that can provide large processing power for avatar management with low latency so as to offer immersive telepresence experiences with high quality avatars.
