We develop a new accelerated stochastic gradient method for efficiently solving the convex regularized empirical risk minimization problem in mini-batch settings. The use of mini-batches has become a golden standard in the machine learning community, because the mini-batch techniques stabilize the gradient estimate and can easily make good use of parallel computing. The core of our proposed method is the incorporation of our new "double acceleration" technique and variance reduction technique. We theoretically analyze our proposed method and show that our method much improves the mini-batch efficiencies of previous accelerated stochastic methods, and essentially only needs size √n mini-batches for achieving the optimal iteration complexities for both non-strongly and strongly convex objectives, where n is the training set size. Further, we show that even in non-mini-batch settings, our method achieves the best known convergence rate for non-strongly convex and strongly convex objectives.

As one of nonorthogonal multiple access techniques for the fifth generation mobile communications, sparse code multiple access(SCMA) can provide a better link performance than other schemes in different network scenarios. However, SCMA employs message passing algorithm(MPA) as its receiver decoding scheme which leads to higher computing complexity and restricts it’s application to low latency networks. Based on this, a dynamic message passing algorithm(DMPA) is presented in this paper for reducing calculation complexity of original MPA. In DMPA, reliability of variable node can be calculated by the pseudo posterior probability after predetermined iterations, and then messages are propagated merely in subgraph of original factor graph which can result in a significant reduction in complexity. Simulation results show that DMPA can reduce decoding complexity about 37% than MPA with negligible bit error rate(BER) degradation.

Recent studies in mental/physical health monitoring have noted to improve health and wellbeing with the help of Information and Communication technology (ICT) and in particular, application of biosensors has mainly done because signal acquisition by non-invasive sensors is relatively simple as well as bio-signal is less sensitive to social/cultural difference. Prior to developing a depression monitoring system based on non-invasive bio-signals, we examined a relationship of depressive level and changes of biological features during exposure of emotional stimuli. Ninety-six subjects' depressive level was measured by a self-rating depression scale (SDS). Electrocardiogram (ECG) and photoplethysmograph (PPG) were recorded during six baseline and emotional states (interest, joy, neutral, pain, sadness and surprise) and heart rate (HR) and pulse transit time (PTT) were extracted. Pearson's correlation was conducted to examine the relation of depressive level and biological features. The results showed that relation of depressive level and HR is positive in emotional states and there is a negative correlation between depressive level and PTT. We identified that they are meaningful biological features related to depression.

In this paper, we consolidate on the numerous research and development, whichendeavors towards seamless convergence of cloud computing, telecommunication, and networking. The advanced telecommunications and wireless networking technologies could further be accelerated successfully with the overlapping from cloud computing. Classically, networking, especially wireless and mobile networking, and cloud computing, have been taken under consideration by scientific literatures but through separate approaches. Recently, the need of virtual resource sharing is felt important through cloud computing in mobile networking due to the enhanced requirements of capacity and quality of services. As a result, we can see a large number of efforts are made to converge with wireless technology and cloud computing. It gives rise to the Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) for the purpose of network virtualization thereby making Network as a Service (NaaS) a prospective dimension of cloud based networking.
