Edge computing is to deploy micro data centers (MDCs) at the edge nodes of the network to provide services nearby, using the bandwidth of the edge network while reducing network delay. We propose the Greedy-based Resource Orchestration for IoT Edge computing (GROTEC) mechanism that runs in edge computing environment. The GROTEC mechanism uses a global resource orchestrator to orchestrate the resources of the MDCs with a greedy strategy. The GROTEC mechanism includes a request dispatching algorithm, a request offloading mechanism and a service migration mechanism. The experiment results show that the request offloading mechanism of GROTEC reduces the duration of MDC being overloaded by 97.9%, decreases the network traffic of overloaded MDC by 91.9%, and improves the latency of requests by 12.6%. From the experiment results, the service migration mechanism of GROTEC can ease the load of the cloud data center and improve the latency of requests by 26.8%. © 2022 IEEE.

The growing number of Electric Vehicles (EV) in the transportation sector has brought with it challenges associated with charging of the vehicle at the charging stations, like clustering of vehicles at a particular station, leading to longer waiting hours due to low number of charging outlets available. This has led to loss in time and energy of the EV owners and a frustrating experience in locating a nearby charging station. The paper entrails a solution to tackle these issues, by proposing a mobile application to pre book or reserve a charging port ahead of time at any available charging station for charging the EV, thus ensuring effective service to the users, reducing the clustering of vehicles at the charging stations and thereby less waiting time. The proposed system provides the user with details such as the location of a charging station, number and type of chargers present at a charging station and availability of slots during a specific period. It also allows users to book an available slot with a secured payment gateway and maintains user feedback. © 2023 IEEE.

Sparseness controlled proportionate recursive least square algorithm (SC-PRLS) was proposed to work with a time-varying sparse environment. PRLS and SC-IPNLMS inspired it. The proportionate matrix distributes gain among filter coefficients during the updating process. The gain distribution coefficient is calculated using a degree of sparseness to deal with varying sparsity. The underwater acoustic (UWA) channel model considered different characteristics of the channel. By changing the channel impairments, UWA channel sparsity can be modified. The modeled UWA Channel was estimated using PRLS and SC-PRLS. The simulation was done in MATLAB for UWA channel estimation. The simulated results validate better tracking accuracy in a variable sparse environment. The convergence rate and steady-state error are both better for SC-PRLS than PRLS. For SC-PRLS, convergence begins at 105 iterations, but for PRLS, it begins at 160 iterations. For PRLS and SC-PRLS, the steady state error is found to be approximately 24.5 dB and 28 dB, respectively. It can be suggested that SC-PRLS performs better in all sparse conditions like sparse, relatively less sparse, and highly sparse environments. SC-PRLS also gives an overall robust performance. © 2023 IEEE.

Differential evolution algorithm is an optimization method that obtains the global optimal solution through random search without a clear goal. The article first took the remediation of heavy metal pollution in mining soil as an example to construct a mathematical model for minimizing the cost of soil heavy metal pollution remediation. Then, combined with differential evolution algorithm, the optimization was carried out by combining soil attributes with differential evolution algorithm, and compared with traditional genetic algorithm and particle swarm optimization algorithm. The experimental results showed that the differential evolution algorithm can better handle complex function optimization problems, resulting in a removal rate of up to 95%, a migration rate of up to 89%, and an ecological risk index of down to 3. Using differential evolution algorithm under fixed cost constraints for different soil properties can obtain optimal remediation solutions. Compared to traditional genetic algorithms and particle swarm optimization algorithms, differential evolution algorithms have better capabilities. © 2023 IEEE.

Federated learning is an emerging distributed machine learning technology that allows participants to jointly train machine learning models locally without the need for large-scale data transmission and sharing, thereby greatly improving data security. However, some Byzantine clients may intentionally tamper with local model parameter updates with the intention of manipulating the global model's update direction, which can lead to a decline in the overall performance of federated learning. Besides, existing Byzantine client detection research is conducted in plain text, which will lead to the leakage of private information. To solve the above issues, we propose a Byzantine client detection method for federated learning based on encrypted repeated median linear regression. Specifically, it combines the repeated median linear regression algorithm with homomorphic encryption, which can detect and eliminate clients with Byzantine behavior in the ciphertext state, ensuring the security and reliability of the parameters in the entire federated learning process. Additionally, we also designed an adaptive gradient clipping method based on historical iteration to clip the gradient to a reasonable range, which can not only reduce communication and computing overhead, but also improve the convergence speed and stability of the model. Experiments show that the proposed method can maintain high accuracy under the influence of malicious behavior of Byzantine clients. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Predictive coding networks are neuroscience-inspired models with roots in both Bayesian statistics and neuroscience. Training such models, however, is quite inefficient and unstable. In this work, we show how by simply changing the temporal scheduling of the update rule for the synaptic weights leads to an algorithm that is much more efficient and stable than the original one, and has theoretical guarantees in terms of convergence. The proposed algorithm, which we call incremental predictive coding (iPC), is also more biologically plausible than the original one, as it is fully automatic. In an extensive set of experiments, we show that iPC constantly performs better than the original formulation on a large number of benchmarks for image classification, as well as for the training of both conditional and masked language models, in terms of test accuracy, efficiency, and convergence with respect to a large set of hyperparameters. © 2024 12th international conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2024. Traditional particle swarm optimization has attracted attention in various fields because of its relatively simple form and flexible parameter setting, but it also has the disadvantages of slow convergence speed and easy to fall into local optimization in the face of large-scale multivariate data. To solve this kind of problem, a chaotic multi-group optimization algorithm (CM-PSO) based on graphics processing unit (GPU) is proposed. In the algorithm initialization stage, chaotic mapping is introduced to enhance population diversity, and then the population is divided into multiple small subgroups according to the idea of island model, and the Feng's topology is adopted within each subgroup to improve the search efficiency and reduce the computational complexity. Finally, the CUDA stream (streams) technology is used to realize grid-level parallelism, further improve the degree of algorithm parallelism, and improve the algorithm performance while ensuring the accuracy of the algorithm. © 2023 SPIE. Satellite-Terrestrial Network (STN) is one of the core of future communication technology and has been in the spotlight in recent years by various academia and industries. Above all, Low-Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite technology is attracting attention since it can exhibit high energy efficiency among satellites in various orbits, and related business projects are also being carried out on a large scale. The rapid emergence of advanced mobile devices and applications in recent years has made communication technologies demand better quality of service (QoS). To meet these needs, Mobile Edge computing (MEC) technology has been studied a lot, and now many studies that applied MEC with STN which is called Satellite Mobile Edge computing (SMEC) have started to be conducted. However, SMEC has a number of considerations differently from terrestrial networks due to the characteristics of satellite communication. Most current SMEC studies focus on optimizing energy consumption of STN system, which simply apply the MEC technique of the existing terrestrial network to STN as it is. It seems to be unrealistic since the satellite communication environment has not been considered. Therefore, in this study, comprehensive concepts and cases are presented through a wide survey on STN and SMEC. Additionally, a simple and realistic SMEC optimization scenario considering the environment of satellite communication is proposed. © 2022 IEEE.

Request-response computing is a model of communications in which a client requests for service and the server responds with response. It is a model that is most widely used in modern day computing and is more reliable and resource aware. Security is a prime concern in this model of computing, where malicious entities may gain access to crucial data and resources illegitimately. An efficient authentication mechanism may establish a secure communication channel between client and server and avoid illegitimate access of resources. Here, we propose a two-phase authentication mechanism using address binding for securing the communications between clients and server. The first phase of binding is done using cryptographically generated address (CGA) and for the second phase, we have designed a novel Mathematically Generated Address (MGA), in which IPv6 address are masked using mathematical operations and it is lightweight and secure. The proposed mechanism is secure and efficient and is verified in security analysis and performance evaluation as well. The proposed mechanism is evaluated for security and performance and its analysis has found that the proposed mechanism works efficiently in terms of security and time in comparison to the existing mechanism. © 2022 IEEE.

According to the analysis of the mechanism model of the doubly fed variable speed constant frequency wind power generation system, it can be concluded that the system is a complex system with nonlinearity, uncertainty, and constraints. Therefore, based on the above characteristics, this paper uses predictive control method to control it, and uses interval optimization theory to solve the optimal control quantity in rolling optimization. Based on the mathematical transformation model, develop a nonlinear interval number optimization algorithm with certain engineering practicality. The main difficulty to solve is the low efficiency caused by two-layer nested optimization, and further improve the real-time performance of the algorithm by adopting parallel computing strategy on the basis of designing the solution algorithm. The results show that compared with classical big data mining technology and traditional data analysis methods, interval optimization technology have better accuracy and convergence in feature recognition, and can judge feature recognition. © 2024 IEEE.
