In the upcoming year, the growth of IoT will tremendously increase. The factors like limited storage, low communication capability, less data storage, and limited computational power are associated with IoT devices. By the year 2025, almost 80 billion devices will be linked to IoT (Van 2017). Many issues arise when users and IoT devices continue to share computing and networking resources remotely. On the other hand, cloud computing supports massive storage capacity and high computing/processing capability. IoT devices produce a mass variety of data, these data need to be processed quickly and stored in high-capacity storage in a heterogeneous environment. Integrating IoT and Cloud computing, the system becomes more powerful, robust, and intelligent, solving the user’s problem more effectively and efficiently. In the pervasive and ubiquitous environment, there need to be more secure web services that can interact with IoT devices and sensors through cloud computing interactively. IoT-Cloud convergence has many challenges like security, data formatting, load balancing, energy consumption, etc. This paper analyses some of the issues mentioned above. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this research work, we proposed a meta-heuristics optimization technique named Harris' hawks optimization (HHO) based method for computing optimal filter coefficients of FIR type BPF and BSF. HHO is a population-based optimization paradigm that uses two phases to find the optimum solution. In the exploration phase, hawks search deeply on any particular area to detect prey and perform different attack strategies in the exploitation phase based on rabbit escape energy and hawks chasing capability. Different performance metrics of the designed filters using the HHO technique are compared with other algorithms like CSO, BFO, HGWOCS and ACSA based FIR filters of order 20. © 2022 IEEE.

In this short position paper, we discuss several potential security concerns that can be found at the physical layer of 6th-generation (6G) cellular networks. Discussion on 6G cellular networks is still at its early stage and thus several candidate radio technologies have been proposed but no single technology has yet been finally selected for 6G systems. Among several radio technologies, we focus on three promising ones for 6G physical-layer technologies: reconfigurable intelligent surface (RIS), Open-RAN (O-RAN), and full-duplex radios. We hope this position paper will spark more active discussion on the security concerns in these new radio technologies. © 2022 IEEE.

Image classification and interpretation pose significant challenges in the field of artificial intelligence (AI), with the rapid growth of technology and the availability of vast image datasets offering numerous opportunities for advancement. Transfer learning, a subset of machine learning, is widely applied in addressing these challenges. While existing machine learning models have shown impressive performance in image interpretation and scene classification, there are still hurdles to overcome. In many cases, relying solely on the weights of data-dependent models is insufficient. used model for image classification demonstrates rapid convergence. This study employs two distinct deep learning models for prediction: Inception V3, which achieves a Training Accuracy of 86% and Validation Accuracy of 88%, and ResNet50, trained for 19 epochs, reaching a maximum accuracy of 94.26%. This research addresses the strengths and weakness of current models and uses the potential of transfer learning to further advance the field of image classification and interpretation. © 2023 IEEE.

However, these efforts encounter significant challenges due to the physical battery limitations of the satellites. To address these issues, this paper introduces a novel edge computing technique that takes real-time battery conditions into account.

The convergence of smart product packaging and IoT marketing has transformed commerce. This study examines the fundamental ramifications of convergence and its potential to improve customer engagement. Modern edge devices have become powerful enough to run deep learning tasks, but there are still many challenges, such as limited resources such as computing power, memory space, and energy. To address these challenges, methods such as channel pruning, network quantization and early exiting has been introduced to reduce the computational load for achieve this tasks. In this paper, we propose LazyNet, an alternative network of applying skip modules instead of early exiting on a pre-trained neural network. We use a small module that preserves the spatial information and also provides metrics to decide the computational flow. If the data sample is easy, the network skips most of the computation load and if not, the network computes the sample for accurate classification. We test our model with various backbone networks and cifar-10 dataset and show reduction on model inference time, memory consumption and increased accuracy to prove our results. © 2022 IEEE.

Edge computing supports a wide variety of low latency applications by bringing the capabilities of the cloud close to the end-user. Due to the properties of edge computing, such as limited coverage, it is crucial to develop edge-native technologies based on the edge-cloud continuum rather than on-premise technologies assuming edge standalone environments. In this article, we review standardization activities and survey software platforms for edge-native. We also identify open issues for orchestration technologies of edge-native. © 2022 IEEE.

Due to the continuous growth of the information age, the amount of all kinds of data has gradually increased, rapidly forming a big data market and getting rapid development. Therefore, it is need to fully utilize the existing cloud computing technology to deal with big data, so as to fully tap the potential important value of big data. Based on cloud computer technology, this article discusses the optimization design of clustering algorithm. In order to improve the accuracy and efficiency of DM, the traditional clustering mining algorithm is analyzed, improved and optimized, and a new clustering optimization algorithm for big data is proposed. The research results show that the algorithm proposed in this article has high accuracy, which is 11.31% higher than the traditional clustering algorithm. Compared with other algorithms, it has obvious global optimal solution search advantage and better convergence speed, and improves the optimization ability of data clustering. This method is suitable for clustering mining of large-scale data sets and has certain practical significance. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to develop a high-performance computing system, not only a high-performance processor and accelerator, but also the system software for optimizing system performance and providing an efficient programming environment is essential. We are developing a device driver for a new parallel computing accelerator (called XPU). The driver aims to support OpenCL and control the XPU. As a first step, we developed XPU driver emulator (XDE) based on the XPU simulator to validate the design of the XPU hardware and device driver prior to hardware manufacturing. XDE supports OpenCL and offloads parallel computations to XPU simulator. XDE allows early development of runtime and compiler. This paper presents the architecture, functions, and operational flow of the XDE. This provides an opportunity to understand the XPU device driver to be developed in the future and technical considerations for the co-designing of hardware and system software. © 2022 IEEE.
