Over the past few decades, the field of medicine has advanced tremendously, resulting in so many new diagnostic methods and treatments for several diseases. However, cancer continues to pose a significant public health challenge and is responsible for a considerable number of deaths worldwide. Lung and colon cancer are particularly fatal, constituting over a quarter of all cancer instances. Early detection is critical for improving survival rates, and recent developments in artificial intelligence (AI) offer promising opportunities for aiding cancer diagnosis. In this paper, a novel hybrid ensemble classification framework is proposed by integrating deep learning with hand-crafted features such as discrete Fourier transform and gray-level cooccurrence matrix. Moreover, the proposed framework could benefit medical professionals in developing a robust, reliable, automatic system for identifying tissues of five types of lung and colon cancer in the LC25000 image dataset. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2023.

Demand for large bandwidth is increasing day by day due to the extensive usage of the internet, various gaming applications, and mobile communication. Optical fibers fulfill this requirement because it has enormous bandwidth. In the present article, we have designed a wideband WDM system, which operates in E, S, C, and L bands, over a bandwidth of 29.509 THz (or 273 nm). In the proposed wideband WDM system, the four channels operated at 1427 nm (E band), 1520 nm (S-band), 1550 nm(C band), and 1600 nm (L band). The data rate used was 40 Gbps. The system is analyzed by varying the fiber length from 25 km to 125 km and laser power from -5 dBm to 10 dBm. The system's performance is evaluated by BER, quality factor, output optical power, and eye diagram. We successfully demonstrated that at -5 dBm/100km, the quality factor and BER as 9.39, 9.16, 10.20, 6.76 and 2.80 x10-21, 2.32x10-20, 9.45x10-25, 6.55x10-12. Similarly, at 10 dBm/125km the Q factor and bit error rate was 5.13, 24.32, 16.18, 7.64 and 1.36x10-07, 5.39x10-131, 2.99x10-59, 1.05x10-14 for 10 dBm for the four channels respectively. This article investigates a compact slotted rectangular patch antenna with circular polarization for triple band circularly polarized (CP) operation. In this, a co-axial feed circularly polarized square patch antenna is designed using a slot with a truncated corner. The proposed antenna is designed on an Arlon AD225A dielectric substrate with a thickness of 1.6mm . The intended circular polarized antenna gives a miniaturized size of 0.58λ0×0.58λ0×0.1546×0 at a frequency 2.9GHz. The proposed CP antenna provides impedance bandwidths of 4%, 3.8%, 2.52%, 1.57% and 3.4% at the center frequencies of 3GHz, 6GHz, 6.7GHz, 7GHz, and 9GHz respectively. The proposed antenna has a maximum gain of 10.34dB at a frequency *** proposed antenna is suited for the RFID readers in the SHF band. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2023.

This study proposes a system for efficient energy management that takes the database of a smart home with multiple attributes as input, analyses the data in different elaborated forms, and predicts future energy consumption using multiple models like VAR, Prophet, and LightGBM regressor. The purpose of using different models for energy consumption forecasting is to compare them and determine which models are more accurate than others. The database used in this project is from a smart home containing various appliances with weather conditions and is available on Kaggle. The data obtained makes it possibleto examine how electricity is used in a smart home and develop an effective system for analyzing power consumption. Energy consumption analysis and forecasting are crucial for lowering energy costs, encouraging sustainability, and maximizing performance. This article highlights the importance of energy consumption analysis and forecasting in promoting sustainability. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2023.

In contrast to other social media platforms, Twitter is one of the most notorious and substantial social networking services, as we all know. In the course of the discussion, a user might engage in unauthorized behaviour and send unsolicited communications to disturb the dialogue process. As a result of the intricacy of spammers' communications, spam categorization has gotten increasingly difficult. These types of spam communications are tough to detect. In the previous According to published research, over the last 20 years, many efforts have been made to discover and eliminate spammers and fake accounts. SVR, Some of the deep learning algorithms used in this study are Random Forest and Decision tree. In the proposed technique, we use these algorithms on actual Twitter datasets to detect spam tweets. In this instance, spam is broken down into distinct types of spammers: positive, negative, and moderate. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2023.

Missing and abduction of children is a big social issue nowadays. According to the National Crime Records Bureau, India reports more than 100 children go missing every day. Children are in the developing stage till their adulthood. Their biometrics also go through many changes. Therefore, biometric identification system for children is not yet developed. Children's recognition using their biometrics is a challenging task. Many researchers are working on this problem using different biometrics, such as finger, foot, palmprint, face, iris, ear and headprint. However, the issue is not yet resolved satisfactorily. The problem in recognizing children is the small size of biometrics. It is under developing stage, therefore displacement of key features observed, which leads to false acceptance. In this research the footprint biometric is used for identification of children. Most of the work done in literature is in verification mode. In this paper biometric identification is performed which will be helpful in finding the missing children. The database of 50 children's footprint is collected. The age of the children is 1 month to 5 years. Two types of input images are compared to achieve high accuracy. First input images are obtained by pre-processing and Region of Interest (ROI) extraction of the crease pattern from footprint images. Second are obtained by texture-based enhancement of crease pattern's ROI. Both the inputs are compared using state-of-the-art techniques and modern deep learning algorithms. The deep learning algorithm with enhanced crease patterns is giving 100 % accuracy, which is higher than the literature. © 2022 The Institution of engineering and technology.

This review of literature critiques recent research (2019-2023) on quantum information science and technology (QIST) programs designed specifically for high school students. Since QIST research and applications are advancing rapidly with an accompanying global demand for QIST workforce development, it is important to understand how high school students may be introduced to QIST concepts and skills early in the academic pipeline. The review identifies best practices for QIST teaching and learning, how prerequisite mathematical skills are addressed, methodological approaches and limitations, as well as QIST practices in high school outreach programs that have not published empirical findings. Implications for practice and future empirical work are discussed.

The health safety management at hospitals and its basic measures play a significant role in raising the standard of hospital treatment. The proposed machine has been modelled using Matlab Simulink and Proteus Design Suite and its performances have been studied in this paper. The device can be used at any health centre services to provide protection against the spread of diseases, thus it is effective and reliable for health safety. In the health centres, there are many visitors, patients, doctors, nurses, hospitals staffs and others are always with the risk of getting infected, thus to provide them a safety health management services this machine has specially designed, so, that they could not get affected with those injurious viruses that observed during Corona Virus Disease of 2019 (COVID-19). The dispenser machine has both a mask and hand sanitizer dispensing system which can be considered as the most important device where the mask as well as hand sanitizer are available that are needed to protect from any harmful virus or diseases. The simulation of the circuit is validated such that when any obstacle comes to the IR sensor;the dc motor rotates which significantly describes the dispensing of mask and sanitizer. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2023.

Smart grid had numerous numbers of connected devices which generates enormous amount of data. A smart grid increases the efficiency of normal power grid but at the same time it is more vulnerable to attacks. Therefore, it is necessary to detect the attacks beforehand to prevent the system from major disaster. Machine learning methods find a vital position in smart grid *** algorithms are used for both classification and detection of attacks in smart grid. In this paper, random forest algorithm was used to classify cyber-attacks. A robust parameter tuned random forest algorithm was introduced and proposed model was trained and tested on ICS cyber-attack dataset. Experimental results shows that the error estimation depends on the variation of hyper parameters. The performance metrics considered for evaluation is Out-of-Bag error estimate. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2023.

The promising feature of next generation wireless systems if extremely high data rate, high spectral and energy efficiency. The turning point of these systems is a new concept known as Large Intelligent Surfaces (LIS). These surfaces are made of meta-materials which enable them to reflect the incident electromagnetic signal towards the desired user. This reduces the power consumption and thus implements the energy harvesting aspect. This paper proposes a Deep Learning (DL) model to calculate the Signal to Interference Noise Ratio (SINR) of a wireless systems using LIS. The DeepMIMO dataset is considered to generate the required dataset for training and validation. The simulation results indicate that the accuracy of the proposed DL model is approximately 96%, for calculating SINR, an important performance metric of wireless systems. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2023.
