Digitized archival collections offer rich sources for cultural heritage research. Current systems, though, fail to effectively integrate heterogeneous data forms like images, textual descriptions, and metadata. This study offers a sophisticated framework that blends image recognition, natural language processing (NLP), and knowledge graph methods to facilitate access, enable discovery, and reveal concealed historical patterns. The system comprises several modules such as a data input module, preprocessing pipeline, image recognition, NLP analysis, knowledge graph generation, semantic search engine, and an interactive user interface. Testing the system on a large historical archive dataset proved high accuracy, efficiency, and usability for all modules. Major takeaways are 93.4% accuracy in object detection for images, 94.8% accuracy for named entity recognition, and 95.5% search accuracy in semantic search feature. © 2025 IEEE.

This research addresses the critical issue of urban trafficcongestion exacerbated by the inadequacies of traditional traffic management systems. Inefficient adaptation to real-time traffic conditions by static traffic light timers leads to wasted time, and fuel, increased pollution, and compromised safety during peak hours and emergencies. To mitigate these challenges, this study proposes a novel Smart Traffic Management (STM) system that leverages cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). The STM framework dynamically adjusts traffic flow in response to real-time data, optimizing efficiency and enhancing emergency response mechanisms. Through comprehensive simulations and case studies, this research demonstrates the potential of the STM system to alleviate urban congestion and improve overall traffic management in diverse urban settings.

In secure remote user authentication, the remote server verifies the user’s identity via a potentially unsafe channel of communication. Several types of remote user authentication techniques have been developed ever since, each with its own set of benefits and drawbacks. Real-time applications, such as E-health, telemedicine, the (IoT), the cloud, and multi-server applications, are profoundly affected by remote user authentication systems, including their strengths and weaknesses. Effective control in e-health schemes may be achieved by the provision of several channels for data transfer. When more adaptable forms of communication are established, however, this new method also raises questions of safety and privacy. It’s a fascinating challenge to find a way to authenticate individuals in e-health systems while also guaranteeing their data’s safety. This study presents a data-driven trust mechanism based on blockchain as a decentralised and energy-efficient tactic to detect internal assaults in the Internet of Things. Second, a safe RSA method variant is used to encrypt the data before it is sent. These improvements have a substantial impact on the longevity of the network. Medical data has strict security requirements, and our method meets those needs. Results from the assessment and security analysis demonstrate that the presentation of the proposed technique is greater to that of previously used approaches. The system’s efficiency has been shown experimentally.

The continuous improvement of the manufacturing sector and the quick development of metropolitan areas, a substantial amount of manufacturing and household sewage is discharged untreated into water resources. The increasing shortage of water resources means efficient and reliable sewage treatment has become an important link in realizing sustainable development, and the intelligent upgrading of sewage monitoring systems has become essential in the control of sewage treatment. The standardization of computerization control for urban sewage treatment plants, such as industrial waste and home waste, is a major challenge. Sewage treatment plants that use activated sludge treatment are frequently used to purify sewage water. The Siemens PCS7 control platform is produced by the primary research object and is a fundamental monitoring tool for detecting the PH and COD levels in treated sewage. The S7-400 series controller applies the closed loop PID control system and the model predictive control system. An enhanced sewage monitoring impact has been obtained with the appropriate development of PCS structure and Profinet network level in sewage treatment systems with Supervisory Control and data Acquisition as the platform. systems management for process automation pushed techniques that allowed access to field device, controller, and SCADA system operations and data. Optimize the functioning of a sewage treatment facility in terms of process stability, energy consumption, and environmental compliance. © 2022 IEEE.

Acquiring human skills offers an efficient approach to tackle complex task planning challenges. When performing a learned skill model for a continuous contact task, such as robot polishing in an uncertain environment, the robot needs to be able to adaptively modify the skill model to suit the environment and perform the desired task. The environmental perturbation of the polishing task is mainly reflected in the variation of contact force. Therefore, adjusting the task skill model by providing feedback on the contact force deviation is an effective way to meet the task requirements. In this study, a phase-modulated diagonal recurrent neural network (PMDRNN) is proposed for force feedback model learning in the robotic polishing task. The contact between the tool and the workpiece in the polishing task can be considered a dynamic system. In comparison to the existing feedforward neural network phase-modulated neural network (PMNN), PMDRNN combines the diagonal recurrent network structure with the phase-modulated neural network layer to improve the learning performance of the feedback model for dynamic systems. Specifically, data from real-world robot polishing experiments are used to learn the feedback model. PMDRNN demonstrates a significant reduction in the training error of the feedback model when compared to PMNN. Building upon this, the combination of PMDRNN and dynamic movement primitives (DMPs) can be used for real-time adjustment of skills for polishing tasks and effectively improve the robustness of the task skill model. Finally, real-world robotic polishing experiments are conducted to demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach. © 2023 IEEE.

Due to the rapid development in automations, there is a growing need to improve automated customer support services (ACSS) in its performance to meet customer expectations and satisfactions. However, current objective performance measurements relevant to customer satisfaction are lacking and contradicting when considered with other target measurements in existing ACSS implementation frameworks to provide quantitatively accurate performance assessments of these platforms. The research aims to identify and align the key performance indicators (KPIs) of ACSS through literature review to achieve objective methods of performance measurement. To validate the framework, an ACSS prototype is developed, and data is collected for the KPIs. It is identified that the strong and weak ACSS factors in relation to customer satisfaction are data privacy protection, customer care, customer knowledge, sales and marketing tracking systems, information aggregation, AI training, and knowledge management. Further studies are to provide new measurements and explore the relationships with customer loyalty.

Establishing fast and accurate structure-to-property relationships is an important component in the design and discovery of materials. Physics-based simulation models like the finite element method (FEM) are often used to predict deformation, stress, and strain fields as a function of material microstructure in material and structural systems. Such models may be computationally expensive and time intensive if the underlying physics of the system is complex. This limits their application to solve inverse design problems and identify structures that maximizes performance. In such scenarios, surrogate models are employed to make the forward mapping efficient. Still, the high dimensionality of the input microstructure and the output field of interest may render them inefficient, especially when dealing with sparse data. Deep convolutional neural network (CNN) based surrogate models have been typically found to be very useful in handling such high-dimensional problems. In this paper, the system under study is a single ellipsoidal void structure under a uniaxial tensile load represented by a linear elastic FEM model. We consider two deep CNN architectures, a modified Convolutional Autoencoder (CAE) framework with a fully connected bottleneck and a UNet Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), and compare their accuracy in predicting the Von Mises stress field for any given input void shape in the FEM model. A sensitivity analysis is also performed using the two methods, where the variation in the prediction accuracy on unseen test data is studied with the increasing number of training samples from 20 to 100.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is finding its way into a broad range of industries, including manufacturing. The decisions and predictions that can be potentially derived from AI-enabled systems are becoming much more profound, and in many cases, critical to success and profitability. However, despite the indisputable benefits that AI can bring in society and in any industrial activity, humans typically have little insight about AI itself and even less concerning the knowledge on how AI systems make any decisions or predictions due to the so-called 'black-box' effect. This paper presents the XMANAI approach, that focuses on explainable AI models and processes, to mitigate such an effect and reinforce trust. The aim is to transform the manufacturing value chain with 'glass box' models that are explainable to a 'human in the loop' and produce value-based explanations for data scientists, data engineers and business experts. © 2021 IEEE.

Artificial Intelligence algorithms have become extremely fast at identifying humans in real time. However, as Industry moves more towards collaborative working with robots and machines, the identification of humans is not sufficient. knowledge of the exact location, and trajectory of the human movement is needed so that safe collaborative environments are built. This study presents an architecture that can be used to identify humans and extract their position in the space. The proposed system uses the Mask R-CNN instance segmentation model for identification of humans. The pixels which belong to each human in the image captured are identified. Then, the extracted pixels are mapped to the depth and point cloud images obtained from Azure Kinect camera to extract the positional data for each human in space. The impact of this research paper is that we propose a solution that captures XYZ co-ordinates of humans in a space.

Power factor correction are a technique for transforming the negative outcome of power-driven loads that result in unity power factor. Because of the dynamic load, the MCB manufacturing plant needs to adjust the power factor and have automatic switching capability. An electrical energy conduction utility may also be utilized to rectify the power factor become able to increase the power system’s efficiency. The energy meter, which is now connected in line with the source link, continuously monitors the power factoring process of the source connection. To adjust the power factor deviation, a modification to the capacitor bank is necessary. The PLC initiates the individual capacity capacitor bank, automatically aligning the capacitor bank with the load capacity and bringing the power factor close to unity without requiring human involvement.
