3D printing, or additive manufacturing, is transforming electrical engineering by driving advancements in sustainable energy systems, urban infrastructure, and industrial innovation. This paper explores its applications in fabricating energy-efficient components, such as photovoltaics, wind turbine parts, and energy storage systems, as well as its role in advanced prototyping and smart grid technologies. The adoption of advanced materials, including conductive polymers and biodegradable composites, supports the development of renewable energy systems and customized solutions for urban and industrial applications. By reducing material waste, lowering production costs, and accelerating innovation cycles, 3D printing fosters sustainable manufacturing practices and resilient infrastructure development. Challenges such as material compatibility, scalability, and costs are discussed, alongside emerging technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), which enhance optimization and broaden applications. This study highlights the critical role of 3D printing in advancing sustainable energy, urban development, and industrial modernization. © 2025 IEEE.

Major of intelligent manufacturing engineering is one of new engineering majors set up in China to serve Made in China 2025 Plan. Compared to traditional engineering majors, intelligent manufacturing engineering major is relatively new. Different universities have their own understandings of the major and set up different curriculum systems. This article studies the course system for current intelligent manufacturing majors from several universities. According to the characteristics of Harbin Institute of Technology, a course system is proposed around the concept of narrow sense manufacturing. The course system surrounds manufacturing data to form a complete system. The research in this article has a demonstrative role in the construction of intelligent manufacturing engineering major. © 2023 IEEE.

The paper discusses the results of scientific work on the creation of a digital model of the turbogenerator for online monitoring. The feature of the developed model is the use of numerical modeling of electromagnetic fields to obtain a database of parameters in various operating modes. The numerical model of a turbogenerator in a two-dimensional formulation is presented, intended to determine parameters in steady-state operating conditions. Method for determining model parameters for given operating modes is described. The developed model was verified based on comparison with data from the automatic process control system (APCS) of a real turbogenerator. © 2024 IEEE.

Intelligent manufacturing is the main direction of the construction of manufacturing power, the improvement of China's manufacturing quality level is closely related to the degree of development of intelligent manufacturing. This paper selects data from 31 provinces in China, excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, for the period 2014-2022, and empirically examines how the level of intelligent manufacturing development affects total factor productivity in each province through regression models. The results of the study show that, in general, the level of development of intelligent manufacturing has a significant positive effect on total factor productivity, i.e., an increase in the level of intelligent manufacturing can significantly contribute to the overall economic growth of the country;The results of the heterogeneity analysis show that, from the perspective of coastal and non-coastal areas, the level of intelligent manufacturing development has a certain degree of heterogeneity on economic development, and has a significant positive impact on the high-quality development of the coastal region's economy, while the impact on the economic development of the non-coastal region is weak, mainly because the coastal region has a strong technological and human resources advantage, while the non-coastal region lacks a sufficient economic base and innovative capacity that cannot support the development of intelligent manufacturing for the time being;As non-coastal areas strengthen the deep docking with the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Region, the Yangtze River Delta, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, undertake the gradient transfer of industries in an orderly manner, and optimise the industrial layout, non-coastal areas are expected to better carry the development of intelligent manufacturing and promote the high-quality development of the economy;By analysing the mechanism with R&D capability as a mediating variable, it is verified that the improvement of the leve

data augmentation through linearly interpolating inputs and modeling targets of random samples has significantly improved predictive performance. However, data augmentation based on linear interpolation generates semantically cluttered and ambiguous text, resulting in ineffective augmentation. To address these issues, in this paper, we propose a novel data augmentation approach called Attention-based Smooth data Augmentation (ASMix). ASMix accepts the smoothed embeddings of pairwise data predicted by a masked language model (MLM) instead of one-hot embeddings, which makes the inputs more informative and context-rich. We employ the attention mechanism to select discriminative and more-attentioned parts of text hidden representations and mix up the parts containing key semantics in the hidden representations of pairwise data through a multi-token replacement strategy to augment the data of the minority class, which greatly reduces redundant information in the representations that hurts the performance of the model. On several public imbalanced text classification benchmarks, ASMix outperforms state-of-the-art data augmentation methods. In minority classes, the performance improvement of ASMix is particularly prominent. © 2023 knowledge systems Institute Graduate School. All rights reserved.

Current in-process inspection system used at a local pharmaceutical company is manual, outdated and not equipped to perform 100% non-destructive testing to identify critical production defects prior to product release to market. This has resulted in high customer complaints. To address this issue pharmaceutical industry, need to streamline processes and reduce manual intervention. Operator error have been found to be the main contributors to product defect and quality problem. The pharmaceutical industry has also found itself not immune to challenges caused by humans, manual intervention and changes related to the manufacturing environment. Hence, the necessity to be agile and relevant in a dynamic environment. This emphasis has caused industry to advocate for the adoption of technological advancement tools for continuous improvement in quality and process efficiencies. This study aimed at establishing, the most modern and innovative advance technological tools, preferable Artificial Intelligence tools to identify and reduce production defects in real time, with less risk to product. Artificial Intelligence functionality tools. The research methodology executed for this study is the PRISMA approach. The successful implementation of AI is dependent on the accuracy of the input date. The challenges of AI adoption include initial investment cost, data security and AI regulatory framework. © 2023 IEEE.
