Hyperthermia therapies are increasingly being used for the control of cancerous tumors in an attempt to maximize the destruction of tumor cells while minimizing the damage to healthy tissues. Accurate temperature management and monitoring is critical due to the non-uniform temperature distributions caused by thermal gradients within the treatment medium. This study presents a comprehensive characterization of an experimental setup designed to replicate temperature gradients observed in clinical hyperthermia treatments. The experimental setup successfully reproduced a temperature gradient ranging from 27 to 60 °C within a phantom model, providing essential quantitative data on the temperature-distance relationship in the target tissue. Linear regression analysis was used to derive an equation describing how temperature depends on the spatial location of the phantom. The results hold great promise for optimizing hyperthermia treatment protocols, enhancing therapeutic efficacy, and improving patient outcomes in clinical practice.
