This paper proposes an improved YOLOv4 water surface floating object detection method to address the problem that floating objects on the water surface are difficult to detect due to their small size and existing detection algorithms are computationally intensive and difficult to run in real time on embedded devices. The specific idea is to use the MobileNetV3 network to replace the backbone network in YOLOv4;at the same time, negative feedback is introduced, and the proportion of the loss of small-sized targets in the overall loss during the training process is used as feedback, so that selective data enhancement can be performed to improve the detection accuracy of small-sized targets. The experimental results show that compared with the traditional YOLOv4 algorithm, the model parameter number of the proposed algorithm is reduced by 82.4% and the detection speed is improved by 52%. © 2023 IEEE.

In recent years, distributed energy resources (DERs) have gained significance as a way of introducing a substantial quantity of renewable energy sources (RESs) into power grids. Wind turbines are accessible in windy areas, giving wind energy systems (WES) a realistic alternative for clients. This work attempts to increase the effectiveness and adaptability of WES by presenting a novel way of managing DC-DC buck-boost converters. The suggested method combines an Internet of Things (IoT) system for monitoring with supervised learning algorithms to make energy conversion more stable, efficient, and able to adapt in real time to changing wind conditions. In this research, creating a reliable supervised learning control method is the primary goal. The second goal is to optimize the most important parameters of the converter. Using the new supervised learning algorithm, the study changes variables like duty cycle, switching frequency, and inductance to get the best results based on past performance data and how the system is working now. It investigates the influence of these parameters on overall system efficiency and stability. The incorporation of an IoT monitoring system into the WES is an essential component of the study. Various sensors monitor variables such as wind speed, converter input and output voltages, and currents in real-time and are shown as results. © 2024 IEEE.

Extraction and processing of surface electromyography (sEMG) signals play an important role in medical rehabilitation, artificial limb control and other applications. This paper proposes a new method for sEMG signal processing based on convolutional neural networks (CNN). Firstly, the time-domain feature extraction method is used to extract the features of sEMG signals. Then, a CNN model is constructed for identifying and processing sEMG signals. The parameters of the model are calibrated based on the sEMG dataset to find the most suitable model parameters for the objective of this paper, achieving optimization of the model. The constructed CNN network is applied to NinanPro dataset for simulation and experiment, and the results show that the optimized CNN model proposed in this paper has a high accuracy rate for sEMG signal recognition. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

With an emphasis on battery-comparable network theories and the function of power control devices, the current study investigates the effect of bubble on the electrical energy transformation effectiveness of chemical reactors. A thorough knowledge of chemical conditions for storing is necessary because to the growing dependence on charging devices, particularly in electronics that can be carried. The models that now exist are divided into four categories by the literature review: electrical, A number, Logical, and Point Input Systems. Each category has pros and cons of its own. The proposed approach describes in detail the electric modelling technique for lithium-polymer, lithium-ion, and nickel-metal hybrid power sources, emphasising certain characteristics for examination. The section on findings and discussion highlights the trade-off amongst reliability and system brevity, recognising the difficulties in striking a balance of computing viability and accuracy. Evaluation of batter comparable network models is now necessary due to the development of power controllers. The benefit of this kind of simulation is that it can precisely predict the kinetic properties of a charger. The goal of identifying circuit characteristics is to predict electrochemical storage conditions. The various circuit types presented in this article are taken from published books. The Metals Combination, Potassium, Lead-Acid, and Rechargeable battery varieties are examined. © 2023 IEEE.

The proposed work suggests a novel approach for the cooperation of geographically scattered individuals and the blending of different points of view. This work ensures that the center on heterogeneous networks in which nodes support both long-range low-rate Radio Frequency (RF) interfaces (like cellular) and short-range high-rate RF interfaces (such as IEEE802.11) that communicate over urban Rayleigh fading channels. These interfaces are used to connect the devices. The interfaces are what are used to link the various gadgets. This research work proposes and evaluates a wide variety of hierarchically distributed cooperation strategies that can function despite resource restrictions such as limited short-range RF bandwidth. These strategies are contained within the confines of this paradigm, which serves as the framework for proposed work. Post Soft-Demodulation Combining, often referred to as PSDC, and Priority Maximum Ratio Combining are the two approaches that come highly recommended by our team (PMRC). This work provides evidence that using the offered methods increases throughput, reliability, and signal-to-noise ratio. Moreover, this study found that PMRC and PSDC have the ability to improve throughput performance by more than an order of magnitude across a wide range of communication circumstances. © 2023 IEEE.

In the context of the rapid advancements in quantum computing and the disruptive impact it has on traditional encryption methods, this paper investigates the potential integration of Arithmetic Logic Units (ALUs) with quantum noise stream encryption systems. The research begins with an in-depth overview of ALU design, highlighting the fundamental operations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, shifting, and logical functions including AND, OR, and XOR, with a focus on their implementation using Verilog. The exploration then turns to quantum noise stream encryption, providing a thorough examination of its theoretical foundations and its substantial potential to enhance data security. This paper also conducts a comprehensive review of current research on quantum noise stream encryption, summarizing the latest advancement and ongoing studies in the field. Through core analysis, the study explores the feasibility of combining ALU functionality with quantum noise encryption, presenting detailed simulation results and offering practical insights into this integration. The paper concludes by affirming that the integration of ALUs with quantum noise stream encryption is not only feasible but also offers significant potential, opening up new avenues for innovation that could substantially improve the security and performance of digital systems. © The Institution of engineering & Technology 2024.

A Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) system converts brain activities into control signals that could be used to operate an interface such as an exoskeleton. One of the potential brain activities for BCI control is Motor Imagery (MI), i.e. imagination of limb movements. This type of brain activity is most prominent in the Alpha and Beta band. These signals require intensive training that could further be used as enhanced features for classification. Different studies highlight the importance of training by commands/cues presented in mediums such as a computer screen, audio or Virtual Reality (VR). However, as of now, there is little evidence regarding the use of this protocol for comparing the performance of these different training cues. This paper presents not only the design of the protocol but also reports a pilot study performed to evaluate MI signals by presenting cues in three different mediums, i.e. a computer screen, a VR headset, and speakers, studying the signals, extracting features and reporting the accuracy for the left/right classification. The results suggested a significant difference in the Event-Related Desynchronization Synchronization(ERDS) from MI signals of the participants for both alpha and beta bands when the cues were presented in the VR headset, along with the highest classification accuracy for this medium.

Aiming at the problems of low information fusion and slow real-time protection of traditional transmission line relay protection methods, a fault-tolerant transmission line relay protection method based on the concept of three-type and two-network is proposed, which divides the grid into correlation domains, calculates the actual current by using the charge variation coefficient, establishes the protection matrix according to the complexity and logic of the fault, calculates the differential of the current, and refers to the concept of 'shared type' to establish a new method of information sharing and joint analysis of transmission line relay protection. Shared' concept, to establish a new method of transmission line relay protection fault tolerance information sharing and joint analysis, introduce the use of the method to control the discharge gap of the transformer, non-singular matrix and gain matrix to establish the set of conventional control rate and fault automatic repair control rate, set the actual fault tolerance control rate, to realize the improvement of transmission line relay protection fault tolerance method, and through the test results and comparison with the traditional method, it is shown that the proposed transmission line relay protection fault tolerance method has been improved, and the proposed method can be applied to the transmission line relay protection. The experimental results and comparison with the traditional method show that the proposed transmission line relay protection fault tolerance method is more perfect. © 2023 IEEE.

Capsules are widely used in the pharmaceutical and health food industries. Traditionally, the inspection of capsule appearance relies on manual visual inspection, which is both time-consuming and prone to errors. Therefore, this paper proposes the replacement of manual inspection with deep learning image technology to improve the speed and consistency of capsule appearance defect *** this study, we focus on defect types in capsule appearance that are difficult to identify and compare the performance of two deep learning network architectures: YOLOv7 [1] and YOLOv8 [2]. The training, validation, and test sets were created using manually captured images, distributed in a 7:2:1 *** experimental results demonstrate that YOLOv8 outperforms YOLOv7 in capsule appearance defect detection. YOLOv8 achieves a recall of approximately 0.916 and an average accuracy of about 96.2%. Furthermore, YOLOv8 excels in terms of detection speed and recognition accuracy. These research findings highlight the potential of deep learning for capsule appearance inspection, offering the industry opportunities to enhance production efficiency and quality control. © 2023 IEEE.
