This work presents the study of the light emission and conduction mechanisms of PIN diodes using an amorphous silicon-carbide (a-Si1-xCx:H) thin film as active layer. The PIN structures were fabricated by the PECVD technique onto P-type silicon wafers at a substrate temperature of 200 °C. Two different active layers deposited with the CH4/SiH4 flow rates of 30 sccm/ 6sccm and 30 sccm/1 sccm were used. Both structures display red-orange electroluminescence only in forward bias. The structure deposited with a lower silicon content shows a shorter wavelength emission with a higher intensity at a lower voltage bias. From the current-voltage measurements the dominant charge transport mechanisms were proposed. On the one hand, the Fowler-Nordheim tunneling was related to the highest silicon content structure due to a lower barrier height, and on the other hand, the trap-assisted tunneling was associated with the lowest silicon content related to a higher density of defects in localized tail states.

3D imaging technology has wide applications in fields such as autonomous driving and engineering surveying. Among them, TOF (Time of Flight) 3D and binocular vision 3D imaging technology are the two most commonly used methods. This study investigated the influence of distance and light intensity on the ranging accuracy of TOF and binocular vision imaging methods theoretically and experimentally. An adaptive weighting-based high-precision range image generation method for the entire range was proposed. The basic idea was to assign different weights to the TOF range image and binocular vision range image at different distance intervals and use the prior weight fitting results at different light intensities and distances to guide the weighted processing of each point of the range image. And then high-precision range imaging results with higher ranging accuracy than the original TOF image and binocular vision imaging were obtained. The PSNR value increased by an average of 7.15% compared to binocular vision and increased 1.17% compared to TOF. Distance error MSE value decreased by an average of 34.76% compared to binocular vision and decreased 7.87% compared to TOF. Experimental results demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed method, which provided a useful idea and means for further improving the ranging accuracy of existing range imaging methods. © 2023 SPIE.

One of the most recent applications of compressive sensing is single-pixel cameras, where an image is generated by a reduced set of measurements. This new type of camera has already been implemented in many ways but always relying on a powerful CPU or GPU to run the reconstruction algorithms, limiting the portability and increasing the power consumption of the entire system. In this work, a well-known compressive sensing algorithm called TVAL3 is implemented in a Xilinx SoC embedded device. This algorithm has been used in multiples works of compressive sensing for single-pixel cameras due to its image reconstruction performance. The used device is a Zynq-7000 SoC that has an ARM CPU and allows hardware acceleration via FPGA. The hardware accelerator allows speed up the most time-consuming part of the algorithms to contrast the retard caused by the low-spec CPU. The proposed FPGA accelerator implementation was compared with the CPU-only version as regards quality reconstruction and speed. The results show a nearly 10x improvement in the consumption time and a no reduction in the quality of the reconstructions. The new implementation can be used to the initial phase of new, more portable, and faster single-pixel cameras.

At present, the world is facing the shortage of fossil energy, environmental degradation and other problems, more and more electronic equipment loads are connected to the grid and the complex power system structure to the transient stability of the power grid to lay hidden dangers. In order to minimize the damage and economic loss caused by transient instability to the power grid, how to reasonably carry out emergency braking has become the key to solve the problem. Considering that the energy storage system has good adaptability to different instability situations, the advantages of frequency regulation are very significant. Energy storage power can be used as an important link in transient emergency control, and emergency load cutting coordinated control to ensure system stability. In order to reduce the amount of emergency control and improve the frequency of the system after load cutting, this paper proposes an emergency control strategy with load cutting as the main part and energy storage device as the auxiliary part. According to the system destabilization after the energy storage power supply to participate in the regulation of multiple types of unit system to determine the equivalent model. The SOC valuation of the energy storage power supply is taken into account with the control amount required to restore stability of the participating system. Quantify the capacity of energy storage participation in transient emergency load shedding control strategies. Design the coordinated control between energy storage power output and load shedding. Simulation experiments are carried out in an urban power grid simulation system, and through the comparison of different emergency control schemes, the simulation results show that the transient stabilization emergency control strategy of energy storage power participating in regulation can effectively improve the transient stability, reduce the amount of emergency control load cutting, and alleviate the pressure on the po

The advent of quantum computing has heralded unprecedented possibilities in diverse scientific domains, including electrical engineering. This research paper delves into the innovative integration of quantum computing methodologies for the time-domain simulation of electromagnetic transients in interconnected power systems. Electromagnetic transients are pivotal phenomena that influence the stability, reliability, and efficiency of power systems, necessitating accurate and rapid simulation techniques. Classical computational paradigms, albeit powerful, encounter substantial limitations in terms of computational speed and capacity when dealing with large-scale, complex interconnected power networks. To address these challenges, this paper introduces quantum algorithms that leverage the principles of superposition and entanglement, ensuring a quantum leap in simulation capabilities. A comprehensive comparison with conventional simulation methodologies is presented, highlighting the quantum algorithms' superior efficiency and precision. The quantum circuit models for various power system components are meticulously constructed and optimized for quantum resource utilization. Furthermore, the paper explores error mitigation strategies and quantum error correction codes tailored for power system applications, ensuring robustness in the presence of quantum noise and decoherence. The empirical results, obtained from simulations on quantum processors and simulators, underscore the substantial advantages and potential of quantum computing in revolutionizing electromagnetic transient analysis. This research not only paves the way for accelerated and accurate simulations but also contributes to the enhanced stability and reliability of modern interconnected power systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Scalable solutions are required to handle fluctuating workloads in modern distribution grids in order to manage the flood of data from many sources, execute dynamic algorithms as needed, and effectively operate sparse actuators. In order to meet these needs, cloud computing technologies have surfaced as a suitable answer, facilitating effective data sharing and interchange. With semantic information integration playing a crucial role, this is especially important for fully exploiting the advantages of cloud computing in enabling sophisticated analytics and mining for smart grids. In order to analyze grid data for power distribution, this essay proposes integrating the semantic web into a cloud-based research platform. The idea recommends using a service restoration technique to reenergize loads after an electrical failure. This presentation is implemented using FIWARE, a platform composed of modular, open-source building pieces designed for future internet services and applications. Moreover, the SARGON ontology-which was created especially for the energy domain-is used here. We test the integration of semantic data into the cloud-based service restoration application using the IEC61850 data model. This integration provides an access to the distribution grid's field devices. The platform's performance test, measured in terms of computing time and network latency, validates the viability of the suggested solution. The results of these experiments provide as a standard against which to measure the performance of smart energy platforms in the future, therefore advancing the field. © 2023 IEEE.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a progressive neurological disorder that affects the physical and mental health of millions of people. Thus, the early detection of PD is significantly essential for timely intervention. In this paper, we propose a simple yet influential deep learning framework, named a Hybrid CNN-Transformer, for the automatic recognition of PD patients using MRI scans. In particular, the model architecture integrates the merits of CNN with the Transformer for feature extraction in different feature dimensions. The Transformer in the model also captures the long-range dependences, which enables the model to handle both local and global statements effectively. Our proposed method is evaluated on the Parkinson's Progression Markers Initiative (PPMI) dataset. Based on experimental results, our model performs better with a test accuracy of 80.51 %, precision of 80.49%, recall of 79.89%, F1-score of 0.80, and AUC-ROC of 0.84 compared with traditional CNN models such as VGG16 and DenseNet121. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, an analytic approach is developed for determining the electromagnetic parameters of switched reluctance motors (SRMs) taking influence of rotor and stator pole angles into account. This study focuses on computing the value of minimum inductance (Lmin) and maximum inductance (Lmax), and high order-harmonic components (3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, and 15th) of the torque with the variation of rotor angle (βr). Based on that, it can be defined a suitable β r to the smallest value of the order harmonic components. The development method also allows to compute everage torque, powers, torque ripple and efficiency of the SRMs with the different speeds. The obtained results from the proposed method is compared to that from the experiment model to show the good agreement. © 2023 IEEE.

Aiming at the complex and relatively closed underground environment of coal mine where mobile robot work, this paper proposes an autonomous localization method for coal mine underground mobile robot based on multi-sensor fusion. A simple robot localization model based on turning is established, which replaces the traditional method of estimating complex ground parameters in coal mine tunnel. In order to improve locating accuracy, a multi-sensor fusion localization algorithm based on EKF+AMCL (Extended Kalman Filter+ Adaptive Monte Carlo Localization) is proposed. The EKF algorithm is used to eliminate the white Gaussian noise in the path angle signal of the robot. By the AMCL algorithm, the location and path angle of the robot is fused with Lidar and Map data to obtain real time location and path angle after corrected errors. The experiment shows that in the established robot turning tunnel environment, the high-precision autonomous localization of the robot can be achieved, with an average location error of 0.027m and an average path angle error of 2.23°. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to improve the maneuvering control ability at high angle of attack, this paper designs the commonly used thrust vector aircraft model. Based on the model, the longitudinal control law design of aircraft is studied by combining the dynamic inversion method with the incremental dynamic inversion method. This paper uses the dynamic inversion and incremental dynamic inversion method in the inner loop and outer loop of the model design of the new control system. Compared with the traditional dynamic inverse control method, the longitudinal control method proposed in this paper has better control performance and is more stable. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
