The Internet of Things (IoT) is another useful perspective that brings questions from different disciplines together over the Internet. As more wearable technologies become available on the market, teleworking in Wearable Wireless Body Area Networks (WBAN) is becoming more widespread for Internet of Things-related medical applications. This article proposes a solar-powered wearable touch sensor based on a complete social network (SPWT) and Wi-Fi transmission that connects to a WBAN. Different focal points of the sensor network can be assigned to different points in the frame to determine a person's core temperature and heart rate and understand falls. Software for mobile phones and smartphones that displays sensor data and alerts of falls has also been developed. This software includes a web interface. To increase the service life of the central part of the wearable sensor, the pressure in the middle part mainly uses a full-strength flexible solar-oriented sensor with the result based on superior technology like Maximum power point tracking (MPPT). Preliminary results show that the average element of the wearable sensor performs well, although limited by a fully controlled daylight-based power source. The button-less 24-hour movement is incubated with an initial effect. The proposed local energy storage-based photovoltaic device suggests that WBAN-based long-term continuous medical surveillance is possible because the situation is away from home for a short time per day. © 2023 IEEE.

As a unique snack, rice milk cake is made manually by people in daily life. There is not yet a complete machine for making rice milk cake, and cleanliness, safety, and green have become the goals that people constantly pursue. Based on the entire process of manually making rice milk cake, this article has developed an automatic rice milk cake cooking equipment. Through intelligent and automated devices, the efficiency of making rice milk cake is improved, and intelligent catering equipment replaces manual work. Through the research and production of an intelligent cooking equipment for rice slurry and rice cake, the experimental analysis shows that the rice slurry and rice cake cooking equipment can automatically complete the entire cooking process and achieve continuous operation, verifying its feasibility. At the same time, it also achieves a safer, more efficient, and cleaner rice slurry and rice cake cooking method. © 2023 IEEE.

The sunlight's utilization as an illumination supply for lighting inside the building has expanded significantly since the 1900s. Lighting holds an integral part of the total electricity usage in a building. It is also one of the scopes with numerous ways to increase energy effectiveness by lowering energy usage. Hence, a natural lighting system is recommended to curtail electrical energy consumption for illumination throughout the daytime. This work aims to create a natural lighting system model to direct and address natural illuminance into challenging and complicated buildings. In this work, solar energy from the sun is conducted towards the fiber optics package's edge by utilizing a convex lens. This system aims to lower electrical-based lighting consumption during daytime illumination by transmitting the solar light over fiber optics. According to the sun's position, the system is sustained by an optic directional controller to guarantee the utmost connected illuminance. The control system would assure the highest illuminance accumulation also automatically turn on the electricity-based illumination if the acquired natural light did not satisfy the sufficient lux. The PIC16F877A microcontroller was used as a processor to power the tracking device engine. The percentage of the reduction in energy usage for daytime lighting was obtained. The obtained results show that this system will save energy during the day by 57%. Therefore, this paper represents a notable improvement in optical fiber natural lighting systems' commercialization in energy-saving and cost reduction. © 2023 IEEE.

Weakly supervised brain tumor segmentation is a critical challenge in medical image analysis, characterized by inherent biological complexity and the scarcity of annotations. For segmentation on magnetic resonance imaging from image-level annotations, the intrinsic intra-class heterogeneity hampers accurate segmentation on distal images. In this paper, we propose a transformer-based model for weakly supervised brain tumor segmentation. Our approach tackles intra-class heterogeneity by utilizing an Importance-Aware Class Prediction strategy to improve segmentation accuracy on positive images. Additionally, we integrate Affine Transformation Equivariant Regularization to ensure consistent tumor localization. Finally, we introduce a Cross-Plane Refinement method to refine inaccurate segmentations using high-confidence images within the same volume. Evaluated on the Brain Tumor Segmentation 2023 dataset, our model demonstrates state-of-the-art performance on native Tl and T2-weighted sequences. © 2024 IEEE.

In stationary reference frames for both single phase and three phase ac systems, proportional and resonant (PR) current controllers have been employed. Transforming PR controllers, which are suitable for controlling DC signals, produced the initial structure of the PR controller. In terms of ac signal, the PR controllers should theoretically attain zero stable error. For low frequency signal control, PR controllers often operate satisfactorily with a comparatively large cutoff frequency. However, the performance decreases and the transient become more dependent on system characteristics as the regulated as frequency and the cutoff frequency get closer. This behaviour is noticeable when controlling high frequency signals, like when dead time or grid harmonics compensation is involved. Thus, a modified PR controller (MPRC) with better performance of transient for controlling signals of high frequency is implemented in this study. Simulation is used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the implemented controller. © 2023 IEEE.

Food preservation is the practice of preparing food in such a way that its beneficial characteristics (sensory and nutritional) are maintained for as long as feasible after preparation. Water elimination and reduction of water content are the basis of the food preservation theory. Maintaining concentration at a particular level is crucial in the food manufacturing industry. Common processing equipment in the food industry is the Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (CS TR). The CS TR's function is to keep the reactor's internal temperature and product concentration constant. This study aims to keep the product concentration constant using two different controllers. The first is a traditional Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller, and the second is a Reinforcement Learning (RL) controller based on Q-learning. A mathematical model of the CS TR is constructed, and the controllers are developed. The concentration of the product is set to the specific value and allows the controller to track it. Error measures such as Mean Squared Error (MSE), Mean Absolute Error (MAE), and Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) are used to assess the performance of each controller. The RL controller shows promising results in terms of error metrics, suggesting that it may be a viable option for maintaining concentration in food industries. © 2023 IEEE.

The automatic loading system of artillery includes the gun-fetching manipulator, which is crucial. The stability and control accuracy of the manipulator, however, are comparatively subpar when following the position trajectory as a result of the changes in the settings of the permanent magnet synchronous motor. This research suggests a reinforcement learning-based strategy for controlling a gun manipulator's motor behavior in light of the current scenario. In this algorithm, the state variable is the feedback output of the control variable, and the reward function is utilized to calculate the associated reward value. The reinforcement learning agent then makes decisions based on the environment's state and reward value, adjusting the manipulator's trajectory in real-time. By comparing different simulation results, the gun-taking manipulator can achieve more accurate position trajectory control based on reinforcement learning. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The foundation of humanity is nowadays based on ways of living that can take many forms including controlling living conditions, reappraising work practices and developing new technologies. However, most of these activities are done to satisfy people’s needs, but they have a negative impact on their health and well-being. This is the reason why man seeks ways to develop and protect himself from fatigue and anything that can harm his health by using modern technology that reduces the consumption of resources. Recently, the most used modern technology is based on the "automatism" model which is very useful in multiple fields. The technology of automated systems is rapidly evolving in terms of components, structures, advanced control systems and application areas. The objective of this paper is to implement an automatic mechanism to ensure a better and wonderful control when collecting taxes especially in developing countries. The proposed mechanism is based on a case of paying parking tax. The mechanical part of our system is controlled by an ARDUINO micro controller under which works in parallel with a Windows application on a computer to control a servomotor that operates the barrier. The detection of the coordinates of the taxpayer is done using the radio frequency identification. This control model is composed of detection and information processing system and a mobile barrier whose structure is adapted to the opening or closing geometry of the taxpayer passage. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering.

Water leakage detection in water distribution networks is crucial to mitigating water scarcity. Machine learning algorithms have been utilized to generate models that detect water leakages by employing vibration, acoustic, flow, and pressure signals. In this sense, time-frequency methods have been widely employed to extract features or represent the signals for water leakage detection. Nevertheless, the challenge of using time-frequency analysis, such as the wavelet transform, is to select an adequate mother wavelet and its parametrization to represent the time-frequency information of the signal correctly. The selection of a mother wavelet is frequently performed arbitrarily or through trial and error, or the parameterization of the wavelet transform is not reported, hindering the studies' reproducibility. Using acceleration data, this paper proposed using the Heisen-berg area and the Average Reconstruction Mean Squared Error (ARMSE) to select the Generalized Morse Wavelets (GMWs) parameters to perform water leakage classification in looped and branched water networks. The generated scalogram was used to fine-tune the GoogLeNet to classify the water leakages in the two water networks. The results of this study showed that the use of the Heisenberg area and the ARMSE to set the parameters of the GMWs led to select a β = 1.6667 and one voice per octave for the looped water network and β =2 and two voices per octave for the branched water network. Furthermore, fine-tuning the GoogLeNet with the generated scalogram shows a testing accuracy of 78.33% for the looped water network and 76.25% for the branched water network.

As the scale and functional capabilities of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) deployments continue to expand, the amount of data at the device end on the field site is growing exponentially, which leads to unreliable communication quality and limited network resources. To improve the performance of the communication network, this paper proposes a cloud-edge-end three-layer communication architecture that integrates edge computing technology (ECT) with cooperative communication technology. Edge servers (ES) with computing capabilities are deployed in the factory as data forwarding relays to reduce the packet loss rate of the communication network. Under the constraints of communication resources, a bandwidth release model is established to analyze the mapping relationship between computing power and bandwidth. In addition, we adopt the Stackelberg game to characterize the interaction between the factory and the ES, and construct an optimization problem that maximizes the factory utility under the constraint of the total amount of network resources. Finally, a distributed iterative algorithm based on the backward induction method is used to achieve the joint optimization allocation of computing power and bandwidth. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed solution can effectively allocate resources and improve the overall efficiency of the factory. © 2023 IEEE.
