A small signal stability assessment method based on support vector regression (SVR) and a small signal stability preventive control method based on SVR sensitivity analysis are presented in the paper, to improve the analysis speed of small signal stability preventive control. First, damping ratio prediction SVR models of low frequency oscillation mode for small signal stability are trained offline and the optimum parameters are obtained by grid searching and 5-fold cross validation. During the process of online application, the trained SVR models are used to predict the damping ratios of the concerned low frequency oscillation modes. When one of the predicted damping ratios is less than a certain threshold, it is determined as a poor or negative damping mode, and then small signal stability preventive control is started. In the process of preventive control, for poor or negative damping low frequency oscillation modes, the sensitivities of the damping ratios with respect to the control variables (the active power of controllable generators) based on SVR model are calculated and then the control amounts of generator active power are obtained by solving an optimization model. Multiple iterations are needed to make the damping ratios meet specific requirements. Case analysis results show that the effective control measures can be obtained by the presented method and the computing speed is faster than the traditional eigenvalue analysis method. © 2023 IEEE.

Aiming at Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) target state estimation, a dynamic space model between the electro-optical platform and the target is established, and a target state estimation method by fusing game reasoning is proposed. The payoff matrix is defined according to the game concept. Then, the proposed density distribution function of particle swarm is established, and the particle filter method is improved by fusing the game reasoning. The state of the moving target can be accurately estimated by the retained effective particles. Through simulation experiments, the validity of state estimation results of moving target under different moving trajectories is analyzed and verified. The research in this paper can meet the requirements of the current UAV velocity measurement of maneuvering targets in terms of real-time and reliability. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

[Objective] Based on the needs of highway inspection, this article aims to develop a fully functional intelligent inspection vehicle, which can improve the ability of highway supervision. [Method] The overall framework of the inspection vehicle was designed, the mechanical design of the inspection vehicle was carried out by three-dimensional software, and the circuit and interactive software were designed by the electrical system design software. [Results] The real vehicle was manufactured by 3D printing and other production methods and the actual vehicle was tested on the road, and the functions of autonomous driving, active obstacle avoidance, illegal photography, and remote communication of the inspection vehicle were realized. [Conclusion] The design of this intelligent inspection vehicle can complete the highway inspection task more efficiently and provide a practical and reliable solution for road safety and security. © 2024 SPIE.

This paper proposes a high-level synthesis approach applicable to future autonomous systems, i.e. embedded systems, in the context of domain-specific architectures (DSA) along with domain-specific languages (DSL). That enables the system's design and specification to focus on the functions and requirements that such a system must provide and, at the same time, obtain an executable model. We show an illustrative example to demonstrate the potential and applicability of our approach down to automatic hardware description language generation and synthesis. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper first describes the overall structure of the insulator washing robot, designs the visual servo control system structure of the insulator washing robot, and obtains the equipment position information through visual methods, the information is fed back to the vision servo control unit to form a closed-loop vision servo system of insulator washing robot. The binocular vision positioning principle and hand-eye relationship are analyzed, and then a visual servo strategy is proposed, and an image-based visual control method is used to realize automatic aiming and cleaning of insulator. Finally, the proposed system and method are simulated by MATLAB/Simulink platform. The experimental results proved that this strategy can be used to achieve automatic targeting and cleaning operations for insulators, and has a good control effect, and further improving the automation level and operational efficiency of the insulator washing robot, realizing high-voltage energized operations with no one involved, and guaranteeing the stable operation of substation power equipment. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This paper presents a comprehensive study on the application of computer vision, specifically Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), for quality control in automotive interior manufacturing using Injection Molding Machines (IMMs). Despite the high precision and productivity of IMMs, a small percentage of defects persist. Addressing this, the paper compares four popular CNN algorithms—ResNet-50, SegNet, FCN, and PSPNet—on their ability to detect and analyze defects in post-manufacturing. The study outlines the advantages of IMMs, the challenges in defect management, and the potential of CNNs to revolutionize quality control processes. Experimental results demonstrate the efficacy of these algorithms, paving the way for enhanced quality management and reduced defect rates in the automotive sector. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Online sarcasm is usually used to express something opposite to the literal meaning of the phrase or sentence and is hard to catch since it thrives in ambiguous situations. This paper revolves around natural language processing of samples in the English language to generalize the structure of a sarcastic sentence. Through this study, we develop a well-defined model for the automatic identification of sarcastic sentences in various usages. We intend for this study to find use in opinion mining, information categorization and sentiment analysis. Through the LSTM model along with a plethora of data used, this study achieved an accuracy of 93.02% without overfitting. © 2022 IEEE.

Human activity recognition involves identifying the daily living activities of an individual through the utilization of sensor attributes and intelligent learning algorithms. The identification of intricate human activities proves to be a labo-rious task, given the inherent difficulty of capturing long-term dependencies and extracting efficient features from unprocessed sensor data. For this purpose, this study aims at recognizing and classifying human activities using physiological and biological sensor data generated by Actigraph, as they can accurately measure moderate-to-vigorous intensity physical which is mostly affected by body composition and also better suited for self-monitoring. We examined the effectiveness of these features by applying prevalent machine learning classifiers and long short-term memory (LSTM) networks on recently publicly available data, which includes accelerometer and heart rate recordings. The results from our experiments showed that LSTM models performed better than conventional ML classifiers with the best result achieving an accuracy of 86.5%. The findings also confirms the significance of the heart rate in accurately classifying and identification of human activity more. © 2024 IEEE.

Providing quality healthcare services and promoting collaborative clinical research are easier and more efficient with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. All aspects of care are included in electronic health records. Data characterized by volume, variety, and velocity is what IBM defines as big data. Therefore, we evidently have a significant problem managing 'big EMR data' from a volume, accuracy, and velocity perspective. Data misuse and patient safety are significant risks associated with poorly implemented EMR-based systems. Storage, access, and retrieval of big data are all aspects of security to consider. Location is another important aspect of secure data use, in addition to strong access control mechanisms. Researchers are investigating secure mobile data usage based on location after recent reports of illegal trade and theft of patient data over mobile devices. To improve work flow dynamics and efficiency, healthcare facilities are increasingly using mobile devices. In spite of this, mobile devices are becoming more and more common. A new technique for preventing EMR infiltration and manipulation by hackers using the cloud is presented in this article. © 2024 IEEE.
