In recent years, research on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) has intensified due to their versatile applications. While there are various forms of UAVs, each with its distinct properties and uses, controlling them remains a challenge. This paper focuses on the use of a quadcopter to control altitude via a fractional order PID (FOPID). Additionally, a genetic algorithm (GA) is employed to tune the parameters of the FOPID controller. The research incorporates a simulation, executed in Simulink/MATLAB, which illustrates the efficacy of the FOPID. A notable advantage of the fractional order PID is its enhanced response and superior adaptability, which culminates in improved, consistent performance. © 2023 IEEE.

In this work, a bi-layer MnO/ZnO:Zn structure with an approximate thickness of 100 nm for each layer has been successfully synthesized by sputtering. Changes in the electrical properties were evaluated for the potential application for solid-state capacitors as electrodes. The characterization of the layers is carried out through X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), which provides valuable insights into the structural properties. An electrical study employing Frequency Response Analysis (FRA), Bode plots, Voltagetime (V-t), and Current-Voltage (I-V) graphs is conducted to thoroughly examine and understand the electrical behavior of the synthesized layers. XRD results show a MnO phase for the Mn sputtered layer and a mild distortion of the ZnO lattice for the ZnO:Zn co-sputtered layer due to Zn atoms. The electrical study provides a Bode plot where at f<100 KHz the films behave as a conductor and its resistivity increases as the frequency rises. It is also noted that a phase mismatch exists, implying capacitive and inductive effects at f>100 KHz. At the cutoff frequency (fc) a capacitance value of 142 pF is calculated. The attenuation and reactance effects are also showed in the V-t and I-V graphs. Finally, the time constant (τ) is calculated with a square +5V input signal where also a value of capacitance is obtained as 134 pF, indicating a ±10% of tolerance for the value of capacitance at high frequencies (f≥500 KHz) for the film, where reactance effects can be improved with several MnO/ZnO:Zn nanostructures as electrodes in series to add the capacitor value revealing a potential application for the structure for solid-state supercapacitors.

Speech recognition based mobile device applications are gaining popularity due to their ease of use, flexibility as well as ability to provide hands-free access to device features and functions for persons without hands or with disabilities like blindness. The increased accuracy of automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) systems and support to multiple languages is further motivating the researchers to develop such applications. The development of an application for mobile device helps to validate the applicability of an ASR system in real world environment. An android based speech recognition application for calling and messaging features has been designed and developed in this paper. User can send message or call to any phone number or contact stored in the mobile phone using Punjabi speech. Punjabi based ASR system having pronunciation dictionary, acoustic model and language model is used to implement the underlying speech recognition for Punjabi speakers. Speech user interface has been designed using Android, while AndroidPocketSphinx has been used as speech decoder. The successfully running application has been tested for multiple male and female native Punjabi speakers, followed by thorough performance analysis. The results shown are quite optimistic with a very low combined error of 1.6% for all female speakers and 2.1% for all male speakers. The application gives 98.4% success rate or recognition accuracy for female speakers and 97.9% for male speakers for the underlying Punjabi based ASR system. © 2023 IEEE.

At present, temperature sensors are relatively mature, and commercial sensors are mainly thermistors and thermocouples, which have the advantages of low cost and large temperature range. However, it is difficult to meet the requirements of some special occasions, such as strong electromagnetic interference, strong corrosiveness and other environments, and high-precision temperature measurement cannot be performed. Fiber Bragg grating is a kind of fiber optic sensor, which has the advantages of anti-electromagnetic interference resistance, corrosion resistance and high sensitivity. The fiber Bragg grating obtains sensing information by modulating the Bragg wavelength of the fiber through the change of the external temperature parameter, and can automatically monitor the temperature change of the object to be measured. In this paper, the temperature sensing test experiment of fiber Bragg grating is carried out. The results show that the center wavelength of the grating has a good linear response to the temperature of the object to be measured, and the temperature error is within ±0.5℃. temperature sensing. © 2023 SPIE.

In order to simplify the analysis of processes as well as the design of controllers, discrete domain analysis is a powerful tool since it reduces characteristic roots from infinite to finite numbers. Our work focuses on the process of introducing discretization to the domain conversion, as well as considering a recursive method for analyzing random non-deterministic data. With the proper discretization of tuned stable systems, nonlinear modeling of a system can be designed. Several simulations are used in this paper to demonstrate the application of non-deterministic, stochastic control theory. A method for controlling random non-deterministic signals based on sampled data has also been developed, and the time complexity has been analyzed. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Remanufacturing, an emerging industry, holds immense potential for sustainable growth and broad application prospects. Through a series of remanufacturing processes, the life cycle of End-of-Life (EoL) products can be extended, and their residual value improved. The disassembly process significantly influences the overall efficiency of remanufacturing. However, due to the inherent uncertainties and variable conditions of EoL products, as well as the lack of unified organizational management structures and standardized description methodologies for these products, planning the EoL product's disassembly sequence becomes a challenging task. To address this challenge, this research introduces an ontology-based product modeling method to manage the disassembly knowledge of EoL products. Building upon this, the Semantic Web Rule Language (SWRL) reasoning rules and topological sorting methods are proposed. These methods along with the proposed ontology model of EoL product can infer the relationships among product components and realize the automation of disassembly sequence planning in remanufacturing. Finally, a gear pump is taken as the case study. The feasibility of the proposed method is verified through the automatic planning of the gear pump's disassembly sequence. © 2023 IEEE.

A major focus of current research in the field of image processing is the application of such methods to the field of medical imaging. While dealing with biological issues like fractures, canoers, ulcers, etc., image processing facilitated pinpointing the precise cause and tailoring a remedy. In the field of tumor identification, medical imaging has set a new standard by overcoming a number of challenges. Medical imaging is the practice of generating images of the human body for diagnostic or exploratory purposes. Because of its high image quality, MRI is the method of choice for detecting tumors. This research study proposes the integration of RLM to detect tumors and presents an automatic bone cancer detection system to assist oncologists in making early diagnosis of bone malignancies, which in turn allows patients to receive treatment as soon as possible. This research work also proposes to detect bone tumors by using a combination of the RELM based M3 filtering, Canny Edge segmentation, and the Enhanced Harris corner approach. When compared to other models like CNN, ELM, and RNN, the suggested technique achieves an accuracy of around 97.55%. © 2023 IEEE.

From 2015 to 2019, all listed A-share companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen (excluding the financial sector) Empirical research has shown that there is a close relationship between accounting quality and low investment efficiency of companies. The results show that companies with low accounting information quality often fall into ineffective investment behaviour, in particular the mutually supportive relationship between accounting information quality and overinvestment, while lower profits for companies with low investment activities have a relatively large inhibitory effect on insufficient investment. In addition, this Article also found that State-owned or State-controlled companies are more susceptible to profit margin regulation by introducing profit margin adjustments. It is noted that the influence of level and free cash flow reinforce each other, so based on the above research results, we suggest addressing a range of challenges, including taking accounting measures. Including strengthening the quality control of reports, improving information disclosure, optimizing the corporate governance structure, setting up a scientific investment decision-making mechanism;strengthening scientific and accurate business decision-making, reducing the incidence of inefficient investment behaviour and promoting sustainable and healthy business development. © 2024 IEEE.

This study evaluates the adsorption efficiency of dyes (methylene blue, malachite green, and Rhodamine B) on charcoal and activated charcoal under controlled conditions. Significant variations in adsorption were observed which can be attributed to the molecular structure of the dye and the surface properties of the adsorbent. Malachite green showed the highest adsorption on inactivated charcoal, followed by methylene blue and Rhodamine B. Activation of charcoal increased the adsorption capacity for all dyes, especially for methylene blue and Rhodamine B, due to the introduction of oxygenated functional groups. Kinetic studies showed that the adsorption conformed to the pseudo-second-order model. The results suggest that activated charcoal is a promising material for dye removal, especially for those with lower initial affinities.

Ground penetrating radar (GPR) is an important nondestructive technique in bridge and tunnel defect detection, and its signal intelligent analysis is a research hotspot. The radar data interpretation method using neural networks requires labeling a large amount of radar data. However, in actual work, there are problems such as sparse void sample data and morphological diversity. In this paper, the self-supervised learning method is adopted, and only a small amount of labeling data is needed to train the model parameters, which solves the problem of scarce radar data and large amount of labeling tasks, and improves the accuracy of identification of voids. By using different models to analyze the radar data, the results show that compared with the traditional supervised learning method, the self-supervised learning method has higher accuracy and stronger robustness, and has better industrial application value in the future. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.
