In the medical system, it is crucial to hold patient past health records to give the correct treatment to the patient and ensure the medical practitioner's physical health safety. The 'PatiCare' patient healthcare monitoring system is a promising alternative to the conventional method of checking the human body and checking the patient health record. Despite the ongoing investigation, an outbreak of a pan-demic disease called COVID-19 it creates a situation involving exposure to a danger to medical practitioners. In this paper, we implement a Patient Care Monitoring system called PatiCare to reduce viral diseases affection risk. We use IoT and WEB service for communication with users or patients and take his past health record and a doctor can check remotely to his patient. Our implemented prototype gathers biomedical and orientation information through sensors and re-serves it in a WEB Server. A doctor or a medical practitioner is able to assign medicine remotely and monitor patient instant health. © 2021 IEEE.

This paper presents a system of smart lawn and garden water sprinkler using Arduino UNO, whose water tank can be monitored through smartphone. The main purpose of this system is to minimize the issue of water loss and water delivery system by using Internet of Things (IoT) as a platform to monitor the water tank level/status within range of 20 meters from the WIFI module. In this system, interface YFS201 Hall Effect Water Flow Sensor is used to measure the flow rate and volume of water, while ultrasonic sensor is used to detect water level inside the tank. Two systems (integrated) had been tested. Firstly is the proposed system, where the flow rate and volume of water are displayed on the LCD and the reading of the water tank is displayed on smartphone. The second system is watering clock system, which uses Real Time Clock (RTC) for timer setting purpose. The watering clock system shows the timer of watering session on LCD to ensure the user know their lawn and garden have been watered. The proposed system using the Arduino UNO, IoT Platform and Wi-Fi modules is able to immediately notify consumer to control water losses. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The importance of precise electric demand forecasting has grown in light of the recent deregulation and privatization of power infrastructure. More accurate predictions, at all scales from end-users to the system as a whole, are required by the new energy market and smart grid paradigm. Social activities, environmental factors, and seasonal components are only a few of the many elements that make electric demand projection challenging. There is a specific order in which preprocessing, feature selection, and training the model must be executed. Using Wold's theorem, a “prototypical” day/week was generated for use in preprocessing filters. Feature extraction is a method that particle swarm optimization use. A CNN-MRMR method was used to train the model. When contrasted with the cutting-edge CNN and MRMR, this method appears to be quite novel. With an accuracy percentage of 97.20 percent, the data showed a significant improvement.

This article addresses robust control of dual active bridge DC-DC converters (DAB). An H-infinity mixed sensitivity control (H-infinity MSC) strategy is proposed to tackle the problem of parameter perturbation caused by measurement errors as well as changes in operating conditions. Dynamic performance and robustness are improved with this method thank to the planning of frequency-domain characteristics based on the selection of specific weighting functions. The weighting functions are thus essential to the performance of the system and sophisticated design is necessary. The proposed H-infinity MSC algorithm is compared with the widely-applied proportional-integral (PI) single-phase-shift control algorithm using hardware-in-the-loop experiments. The results show that the H-infinity MSC algorithm effectively enhances the dynamic performance and robustness of the DAB system, especially in the case of large parameter perturbations. © 2021 IEEE.

Accurate turning movement counts at intersections are important for signal control, traffic management and urban planning. Computer vision systems for automatic turning movement counts typically rely on visual analysis in the image plane of an infrastructure camera. Here we explore potential advantages of back-projecting vehicles detected in one or more infrastructure cameras to the ground plane for analysis in real-world 3D coordinates. For single-camera systems we find that back-projection yields more accurate trajectory classification and turning movement counts. We further show that even higher accuracy can be achieved through weak fusion of back-projected detections from multiple cameras. These results suggeest that traffic should be analyzed on the ground plane, not the image plane.

Especially in static situations, image stitching has been routinely used to seamlessly merge many photographs into a panorama. Using it in dynamic and real-time environments, however, presents a number of difficulties, such as managing shifting objects, changing surroundings, and processing limitations. An image stitching look at that works well in dynamic real-time situations is presented in this paper. The method makes use of GNN-based feature matching, dynamic object removal, and real-time synthesis techniques. Comparative studies suggest that, in comparison to traditional methods like SIFT and ORB, the suggested approach meets real-time processing requirements while achieving greater registration precision, lower homography RMSE, and consistent panoramic outputs. The findings imply that the algorithm might be used in fields where precision and efficiency are required in dynamic circumstances, like parking management systems, sports broadcasting, and autonomous driving. © 2025 IEEE.

Working in multi-talker mode is viable under certain conditions, such as the fusion of audio and video stimuli along with smart adaptive beamforming of received audio signals. In this article, the authors verify part of the researched novel framework, which focuses on adapting to dynamic interlocutor’s location changes in the engagement zone of humanoid robots during the multi-talker conversation. After evaluating the framework, the authors confirm the necessity of a complementary and independent method of increasing the interlocutor’s signal isolation accuracy. It is necessary when video analysis performance plummets. The authors described the leading cause as insufficient performance during dynamic conversations. The video analysis cannot derive a new configuration when the interlocutor’s speech apparatus moves beyond the expected margin and the video frame rate drops.

This paper begins with the development of first principles models for Heat-exchangers. The found results are then used to improve a laboratory temperature control solution for a dual mode Heat-exchanger apparatus. In particular, the co-current and counter-current transfer functions are obtained from the partial differential equations that explain the heat balances for both, cold and hot fluid traveling through the pipes. The Pole-Zero maps are also depicted from the transfer functions for further dynamical analysis. Finally the PID control for the laboratory apparatus, which can work in both co- and counter-current mode, is presented along with some preliminary results. The hot water recycle control scheme for the laboratory apparatus and the adoption of the PID solution is justified by the number and location of poles and zeros found near in the origin vicinity, after beeing calculated for the open-loop transfer function.

In the current industrial era, automated inspection is crucial for maintaining the quality and reliability of manufactured components. Accurate and efficient inspection processes are essential to meet industry standards. This research presents a deep learning-based model integrated with automated inspection hardware for detecting defects in flywheel workpieces. The flywheels, with dimensions of 22.75 cm outer radius, 16.75 cm inner radius, and 6 cm thickness, were inspected to detect holes, scratches, and pitted defects. The model was trained on 1900 images from 38 flywheels and tested on 7, with 40 ground truth defects identified by professional QA from industries. To meet the requirement of inspecting each flywheel within 20 seconds, we designed a hardware system incorporating a stepper motor, camera, and lighting. The deep learning model is based on YOLOv4Tiny, with modifications to the backbone and feature fusion through an improved Feature Pyramid Network (FPN). We evaluated the model using a confusion matrix to determine precision, recall, and accuracy. Our model detected defects as small as 0.5 mm and achieved the highest accuracy at 95% and 40 fps, outperforming YOLOv5, YOLOv6, YOLOv7, and DETR. The optimal motor speed, determined by real-world observation, was 200 RPM, enabling the system to complete the inspection within 20 seconds.

Vehicle motion control is one of the key technologies to achieve automatic vehicle driving, including lateral and longitudinal control. However, obtaining an accurate mathematical model of the vehicle is problematic because it is a complex nonlinear system and there are problems of external disturbances, model uncertainty, and parameter perturbations during the motion. For these challenges, this paper proposes an adaptive integral terminal super-twisting sliding mode control strategy based on a nonlinear disturbance observer for the vehicle’s lateral and longitudinal coordinated trajectory tracking system. External disturbances and system modeling errors are considered integrated disturbances, and a nonlinear disturbance observer compensates for their impact on control performance. An integral-type terminal sliding mode surface is designed, and introducing a global term enhances the convergence performance of the system. The controller outputs the front wheel turning angle and the longitudinal drive to control the automatic vehicle steering and regulate the vehicle speed, respectively, ensuring coupled path and speed tracking. Finally, the effectiveness of the designed strategy is validated by the co-simulation platform of Carsim and MATLAB/Simulink.
