With the increasing penetration rate of new energy in the power grid, the tasks scenarios faced by the power system are becoming increasingly complex. This complexity leads to the spatiotemporal uncertainty about resource requirements of terminal task for edge computing. Traditional resource scheduling schemes are configured with constant values or over-provisioned in each power business scenario, resulting in low resource utilization. A data-driven model to optimize scheduling resources, which can be for edge computing terminals in distribution network, is proposed to meet the uncertain resource requirements. Firstly, a power tasks resource demand model considering source-load uncertainty is established, and the boundary conditions of adjustable resources are established by utilizing the adjustability of power tasks with different delay and priority requirements. Secondly, considering the multiple costs consumed in the process of power tasks scheduling, a two-stage optimization model is established with the comprehensive computing resource balance and operation cost as the objective function. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed model has a positive effect on improving the balance and economy of distribution network edge computing resources compared with the traditional optimization model. © 2024 IEEE.

Concerns about global warming brought on by increasing carbon dioxide levels in the environment have sped up technological development in the sustainable energy sector over the past few years. The advancement in science while the shift to less polluting materials sources possesses increased the appeal for DG, subsequent generations distributed generation, using renewable supplies. Nevertheless, it has become widely recognized that increasing DG entry can negatively affect the matrix's layout and operations. A suggestion made to reduce the effect about DG while improve the suitability of traditional grids over massive DG installation involves the Located concept. encompassing a variety of electrical devices', the elements and Micro-grids and related power gadgets fields are now very well-liked research areas. This essay examines the history and theory behind microgrids, as well as the present situation regarding the writing, active research initiatives, and pertinent requirements. It additionally provides a more thorough analysis of the numerous Located pilot initiatives which have been implemented surrounding the globe and addresses possible directions for future study. © 2024 IEEE.

To support people with information on natural disasters, numerous early warning systems have been developed. Most of these systems employ a suitable computer-algorithm to process the data received from various sensors and its outcome help to provide necessary alert when there is severe abnormality. This study aims to develop a deep-learning (DL) based automatic flood region segmentation system from the digital images collected using the unmanned-Areal-Vehicle (UAV). This process help to detect the severity of the flood level in a chosen location. To reduce the implementation complexity and to enhance the detection accuracy, this work considered the MobileUNet (MU) scheme. The different phases of this tool includes;image and mask collection and resizing, training the MU with image and mask, segmentation of the flood region, and executing the pixel wise comparison between segmented binary section and the mask to computer the necessary metrics. The outcome achieved with MU is compared with chosen UNet models and the overall result of this study confirms that the proposed MU helps to achieve a better Jaccard (94.41± 0.13), Dice (98.11± 0.06), and accuracy (98.49± 0.02) compared to other chosen DL-methods. This confirms that the implemented technique provides better result on the chosen database. © 2024 IEEE.

As an indispensable equipment intelligent manufacturing production line, industrial robots are an important symbol of realizing the intelligence of production lines, and play an important supporting role in accelerating industrial automation production. In order to solve the problems of low production efficiency, low degree of automation and complex production lines of traditional production lines, taking the manipulator in the production line as the research object, based on the conceptual design and control simulation technology of mechatronics, the twin drive theory was analyzed and refined. The manipulator drive control program was written, and the virtual simulation of the manipulator driven by data was carried out through signal mapping connection. Based on virtual design and simulation technology, combined with the production line operation process and data-driven manipulator model, the logical operation relationship of the production line simulation model was established. By setting parameters such as sensors and motion control signals, the working state of the intelligent manufacturing production line was simulated, and the automatic assembly process of pen holder was realized. © 2023 SPIE.

In recent years, the widespread application of automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in industrial transportation has significantly propelled the modernization of industrial production. However, traditional AGVs’ reliance on pre-laid magnetic tracks for navigation poses several limitations, including vulnerability to damage, inconvenience in construction and path modification, and potentially high manufacturing costs. To address these challenges, this paper proposes an innovative LiDAR-based positioning scheme. Firstly, this scheme breaks free from the constraints of traditional magnetic track laying and utilizes landmarks as key information sources to provide AGVs with accurate position data. This innovative approach not only improves positioning accuracy but also enables AGVs to navigate in more complex industrial environments. Secondly, based on these precise location data, we can calculate the virtual path that the AGV traverse. This step significantly simplifies the process of landmark layout and accelerates the layout speed, thereby enhancing the practical convenience of the system. Finally, experiments have been conducted to verify and analyse the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results demonstrate that the approach not only achieves coordinate positioning and path visualization for AGVs on open paths, but also offers an ideal positioning and path planning solution for industrial transportation. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

The possibility to control not only the position of a robot but also the stiffness of its joints has enabled safe human-robot collaboration and nature-like robot behaviour. However, since stiffness is not a measurable variable, one needs to perform either its extensive offline identification or apply the real-time stiffness estimators. To the best of the authors' knowledge, this paper proposes for the first time an online technique for the estimation of stiffness and elastic torque in an articulated soft robot joint driven by McKibben pneumatic artificial muscles. We address this problem in a two-phase process: first, we reconstruct the elastic torque by leveraging the theory of the delayed Unknown Input Observers, and then a Recursive Least Squares algorithm is used to determine the parameters of a stiffness approximation. Besides robot link dynamics, this approach requires information on link position and commanded pressures to the muscles. The solution is validated on the simulated single-link robot driven by a pair of McKibben muscles in an antagonistic setup. © 2024 IEEE.

In view of the above problems, the smart tourism visual analysis platform based on digital twins is designed to conduct a comprehensive and detailed analysis of the tourist destination's traffic situation, security supervision, resource information, weather environment monitoring and epidemic prevention and control through the method of data visualization and visual analysis. The results indicate that the platform presents information to users in a digital twin and visualized manner, with characteristics such as scientific information management and intelligent processing and analysis. © 2024 IEEE.

Grey wolf optimization (GWO) algorithm, when applied to multidimensional and nonlinear optimization problems, often encounters the problems of getting stuck into local optimums and slow rate of convergence. Aiming at above two problems, we propose the grey wolf optimization algorithm on the basis of dynamic weights (DGWO) in this paper. This strategy can dynamically adjust the position updates of other individuals depending on the three best search agents' own locations, thus improving the search precision and speed of GWO. Additionally, to validate the usefulness of our proposed algorithm in treating multidimensional and nonlinear optimization projects, six classical benchmark functions are selected as test targets and some classical algorithms are compared with them in this paper. The results of simulation experiments indicate that DGWO exhibits superior optimization search performance compared with other competing algorithms. © 2024 SPIE.

Hybrid ground/aerial vehicles, capable of adapting to both terrestrial and aerial environments simultaneously, can accomplish more complex tasks, holding promising applications across various domains. Furthermore, designing a highly real-time multi-modal controller to adapt to environmental and modal changes, is currently a critical issue to be addressed. Based on this requirement, a geometric-based bimodal control structure is proposed in this study. We initially design the aerial controller in the Lie algebra space, based on a geometric attitude controller. Moreover, inspired by the characteristics of ground locomotion, we modify the aerial controller to satisfy the constraints of this mode. Through this approach, we can simplify the design process of the ground controller. Both controllers feature a similar and simpler structure, meet real-time control requirements, and allow them to use the same parameters. Ultimately, the proposed method's efficacy and performance are validated through ROS-Gazebo simulation environment. © 2024 IEEE.

Power transformers are essential elements in the production and distribution of electricity, and keeping them in optimum operating condition is a constant concern for specialists in the field. The condition of power transformers is mainly determined by the condition of the mixed insulation system, i.e. solid cellulose paper insulation and liquid insulating oil insulation. This is why the Three Ratio Technique (TRT) is used with good results for the early detection of power transformer faults. In this paper, the ratios defined by the TRT method are used to train a machine learning classifier based on ensemble and random forest algorithms. The validation of the power transformer fault identification software application for the proposed method is carried out in the experimental section. © 2024 IEEE.
