The stability analysis of discrete control systems is a crucial step in their design and implementation. Gerschgorin's theorem is a valuable technique for examining the stability of such systems. The theorem employs Gerschgorin disks, which are formed by intersecting the rows or columns of a matrix with circles centered at the diagonal elements. These disks provide a geometric approach to estimating the eigenvalues of the matrix. This paper presents an abstract on the stability analysis of discrete control systems using the Gerschgorin scale, which is a graphical tool utilizing Gerschgorin disks. The Gerschgorin scale depicts the eigenvalues of the system's matrix as points on a complex plane. By analyzing the location of these points relative to the unit circle, the stability of the system can be determined. In summary, this paper focuses on utilizing Gerschgorin's theorem and the Gerschgorin scale to analyze and assess the stability of discrete control systems. © 2023 IEEE.

The future development of gardening consulting services will be facilitated by the combination of wireless sensor networks (WSN) and Cloud computing, representing a state-of-the-art technological advancement. The technique utilizes wireless sensors deployed in gardens to collect real-time data on the temperature of the soil, moisture, and sunlight. This data is then sent to a cloud-based framework for analysis and storage. The data may be accessed from any location with a connection to the internet. The system processes and analyzes the data, enabling an advanced gardening chatbot to provide personalized advice using the huge computational capabilities of the cloud. The user is provided with timely guidance tailored to the unique conditions of their garden, facilitating optimal plant maintenance, efficient pest control, and conformance to seasonal patterns. The integration of WSN with the cloud's computing capabilities enhances the adaptability of the system, allowing it to evolve in response to changing environmental dynamics. This novel approach transforms traditional gardening guidance into a data-centric and contextually aware encounter, facilitating the emergence of an era characterized by intelligent horticulture. © 2024 IEEE.

Aiming at the outstanding problem of high energy consumption and low output of molecular sieve in a gas company, an energy-saving transformation scheme of molecular sieve circulating heating is introduced. On the basis of the current process flow of the unit, the optimization and upgrading transformation are carried out. The waste heat after nitrogen in the production process is introduced into the molecular sieve regeneration process, and the molecular sieve regeneration gas is preheated in advance, and the smooth switching of the double system of waste heat after nitrogen is realized by means of automatic control. After the implementation of the project, the temperature of the electric heater after pre-heating is much higher than that before pre-heating. The heating time of the electric heater is shortened by one-third, and the switching cycle of the molecular sieve is increased by 50 %. The switching frequency of valves, pipelines, adsorbents and control units in the molecular sieve area is reduced, the service life of the molecular sieve is prolonged, the failure rate of the instrument is reduced, the operation stability of the unit is improved, and the energy-saving optimization control of the oxygen generator is realized. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to solve the problems of low efficiency of power inspection, large safety hazards, and mainly relying on manual labor, we proposed a vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing UAV with AI algorithm. The drone in this project is equipped with the NVIDIA AGX Orin edge computing module, which has a computing power of up to 275TOPS. In addition, it incorporates artificial intelligence algorithms such as wildfire recognition, human and animal identification, and target localization. These algorithms enable drones to detect targets such as wildfires and foreign object intrusions while performing power inspection tasks, and locate and track these targets at the same time. Finally, the picture is transmitted back to the terminal through the 5G module and handed over to manual processing. Overall, this approach can significantly improve the efficiency and safety of the power testing process. © 2024 ACM.

Switched reluctance machines (SRMs) are increasingly being investigated for high-speed and high-temperature applications, as their rotors do not have permanent magnets or windings. Solid rotor SRMs are a viable option for high-speed and high-temperature applications. However, rotor core losses are quite high in solid rotor SRM. Recently, slitted rotor SRM has been proposed to reduce rotor core loss significantly compared to the solid rotor SRM. The slits are made in the active portion of the rotor perpendicular to the shaft axis to reduce the core losses. While this improves the electrical performance, the shaft rigidity and integrity are evaluated in this paper. Stress analysis and deformation due to the forces acting on the rotor at different speeds and load conditions are presented. The natural frequencies of the slitted rotor and corresponding mode shapes are determined using model analysis. The first four natural frequencies are 885 Hz, 2363 Hz, 3592 Hz, and 4308 Hz. Further, a comparative study between slitted and solid rotors specifically designed for a 5 kW, 10000 rpm SRM is presented, offering insights into their respective performance characteristics. © 2024 IEEE.

Cassava is a food crop that is rich in carbohydrates. However, the crop is vulnerable to many diseases. Research has revealed that image recognition using machine learning and deep learning techniques can be applied in automatic identification of cassava leaf diseases. Therefore this study focuses on using strongly discriminative features of the leaf regions affected by disease and weakening regions of low interest to improve the classification accuracy. A convolutional block attention module (CBAM) is a common attention mechanism integrated in feed-forward convolutional neural networks. In this study, CBAM is added to the pretrained ResNet50 and VGG19 models to recognize the cassava leaf regions affected by disease. This is done by sequentially inferring attention maps along two dimensions, channel and spatial for every intermediate feature map. The attention maps are then multiplied to the input feature map for adaptive feature refinement. The performance of baseline models such as EfficientNet, ResNet50, Inceptionv3, and Xception is compared with the attention-based models trained, validated and tested on a public dataset from Makerere University AI laboratory. ResNet50+CBAM achieve the highest performance with accuracy of 97%, precision of 96%, recall of 94% and F-measure of 95%. Conclusively, attention-based models perform better than the baseline models with a performance improvement of over 1%. © 2023 IEEE.

Speech Recognition (SR), for all diverse languages, is still a big challenge. SR is predominantly used in telecommunication, medical documentation, car control, aviation, etc. SR involves breaking down an audio signal of spoken words into discrete units and then matching those units to words in a language model. The main target of SR is to attain healthier verbal communication amid humans and machines. Therefore, it is a good technology of the human-machine crossing point. The SR uses the Feature Extraction (FE) techniques for better accuracy. In this paper, various techniques for FE are discussed, and an overview is provided to assist in selecting the most suitable technique for achieving higher accuracy. The review highlights the importance of developing more accurate and robust SR systems to improve the user experience in various domains. Overall, it provides the manuscript deals with five different techniques, and among them, the Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) technique was found to exhibit a high level of accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.

The clever pass-layer layout for congestion management in wireless networks is a complete approach that leverages the interaction between community layers to develop efficient, dependable, and cozy Wi-Fi networks. This design combines the transport and MAC (media access control) layer protocols, which include TCP (transmission manage protocol) and IEEE (Institute of electrical and Electronics Engineers) 802.11, respectively, so that it will manage the flow of records and decrease congestion. It considers both packet-stage information, including packet arrival, inter-packet arrival, and packet size, as well as bodily layer parameters, including channel country information, multi-user variety, and interference. Also, it addresses the ISPs' necessity of changing transmission charges and granting the proper stability among throughput and honest distribution of assets to defend different programs. This layout should respond to modifications within the network quickly and efficiently to obtain the favored quality of service (satisfactory service). Additionally, the cross-layer layout needs to be flexible and sufficient to be extended to modern-day and future communique networks while configurable to specific varieties of networks for better deployment. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper presents a backstepping-based adaptive control design for a Duffing-Holmes system with an uncertain parameter. The proposed controller uses an adaptation rule to estimate this parameter and to follow a reference model. The contraction theory is used to analyze the convergence of the tracking and parameter estimation errors. The performance of the proposed controller is validated through simulation studies.

This paper primarily focuses on the design and development of a Low Cost & Compact Ventilator (LCCV) using Proportional Solenoid Valves (PSVs) and DC drive. The PSV, a promising technological component, is used to control the inspiratory to expiratory ratio [I:E ratio] of the ventilator module. Low-cost and low power-consuming electronic products available in the market are employed to produce an efficient, effective, and affordable LCCV. The dual channel DC drive used in the LCCV consists of a pair of step-down DC-DC choppers whose output is connected to two PSVs to control the I:E ratio of the ventilator system. The PWM pulses generated by an Arduino microcontroller is fed to the gate terminals of the MOSFET switches of dual-channel DC drive through driver and opto isolator *** duty cycle of the switching pulses of the dual channel DC drive is adjusted for fast dynamic operation of the PSVs. The inspiratory-to-expiratory (I:E) ratio can be set independently after assessing the patient's condition. A simulation of a dual-channel DC drive is carried out using MATLAB/Simulink, and the results obtained are consistent with the embedded hardware output of the LCCV module. Bluetooth technology is employed to test the functionality of a test lung with ventilator module, which replicates the behaviour of human lungs. The expansion and contraction, as well as the fast dynamic operation of the test lung are found to be controlled efficiently according to the I:E ratio and duty cycle settings of the LCCV module. The designed module is more affordable, operationally effective, and efficient than similar ventilator models on the market, making it ideal for launch with significant benefits for patients, especially in rural areas and ambulance systems. © 2025 IEEE.
