Image-stabilized piezoelectric tip-tilt stages are subjected to various external disturbances. Traditional disturbance rejection methods primarily focus on narrow-band disturbances, neglecting the impact of wideband disturbances characterized by energy concentration across multiple frequency bands, which can significantly degrade stabilization accuracy. These wideband disturbances are typically time-varying, with wide spectral peaks appearing at frequencies above the servo bandwidth. To address the challenge of mitigating such disturbances, this paper proposes an adaptive parallel control method. The adaptive strategy enables two-degree-of-freedom estimation of the disturbance's central frequency and spectral peak width, allowing for automatic adjustment of control efforts based on real-time disturbance characteristics. Based on the estimated disturbance features, a reduced-order parallel control strategy is designed to accommodate the presence of multiple wideband disturbances. The proposed control strategy was evaluated on a piezoelectric tip-tilt imaging system. Results demonstrate that the method effectively suppresses multiple wideband disturbances. © 2025 IEEE.

The majority of educational institutions still track student attendance using the old-fashioned method (paper-based). Paper-based attendance registers have a variety of problems, including the inability to evaluate the data because it is not uploaded to a centralized system. The embedded cameras on campus will take a picture of it. The faces of all the students are in the database. Students’ photos for future usage. Face recognition was used to capture the student's image. Either students are arriving, or everyone is seated in the space. The student's presence is recognized right away. The final step in the recognition process is to compare the detected face photos to the database of student images. if the image and database are identical. The pupil is noted as being present. In recent years, the widespread application of automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) in industrial transportation has significantly propelled the modernization of industrial production. However, traditional AGVs’ reliance on pre-laid magnetic tracks for navigation poses several limitations, including vulnerability to damage, inconvenience in construction and path modification, and potentially high manufacturing costs. To address these challenges, this paper proposes an innovative LiDAR-based positioning scheme. Firstly, this scheme breaks free from the constraints of traditional magnetic track laying and utilizes landmarks as key information sources to provide AGVs with accurate position data. This innovative approach not only improves positioning accuracy but also enables AGVs to navigate in more complex industrial environments. Secondly, based on these precise location data, we can calculate the virtual path that the AGV traverse. This step significantly simplifies the process of landmark layout and accelerates the layout speed, thereby enhancing the practical convenience of the system. Finally, experiments have been conducted to verify and analyse the effectiveness of the proposed method. The results demonstrate that the approach not only achieves coordinate positioning and path visualization for AGVs on open paths, but also offers an ideal positioning and path planning solution for industrial transportation. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

In this study, we designed a control management mechanism for autonomous vehicles by utilizing the ownership Quality of Service (QoS) of Data Distribution Service (DDS) and implemented and experimentally verified it based on FastDDS. By setting priorities among the three control modes of manual control, Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) control, and emergency control based on ownership strength, we prevented data conflicts and enabled fast and accurate control switching even in emergency situations. The experimental results show that the proposed system minimizes the control transition latency. Also, it effectively guarantees the message throughput and demonstrates its practical applicability in safety-centric systems such as autonomous driving. This research will provide future possibilities for extending ownership QoS in complex environments such as multi-vehicle cooperative driving and vehicle-infrastructure communication. It also aims to contribute to improving the reliability and efficiency of autonomous driving technologies. © 2025 IEEE.

The automatic Voltage Regulator (AVR) plays a unique role in the functioning of the electrical grid. The AVR's complexity stems from the fact that its transfer function is of a higher order. Therefore, the analysis of higher order AVR systems results in a challenging task. Hence, the lower order models of AVR have been developed and examined in this work. Pade's approximation, Big Bang Bing Crunch, and Particle Swarm Optimization are utilised to acquire reduced order models of the AVR system. In addition, the simplified AVR models have had a PID controller developed for them utilising both IMC and the conventional Tyreus-Lyuben (TL) techniques. Time response characteristics, stability margins, and performance indices have been evaluated between the TL-PID and IMC-PID controllers. Results from a comparison of the proposed PID controllers show that lower-order models of the AVR system function well in comparison to their higher-order counterparts. © 2025 IEEE.

The main goal of this work is to forecast Transient Energy Conversion (TEC) indicators used to evaluate the security and stability of wind-integrated power systems. Accurate stability assessments are crucial because wind power is intermittent, adding complexity to the system. TEC indices serve as important markers for determining whether a system is stable or unstable. Wind speed and system dynamics fluctuations introduce nonlinear characteristics that standard approaches struggle to handle effectively. Addressing these challenges is vital for ensuring the reliability and security of the electrical grid. Machine learning(ML) algorithms, however, excel in learning from data patterns and adapting to complex, dynamic settings. First, various ML models are tested to predict TEC indicators. Second, polynomial feature transformation with a degree of 2 is applied to capture nonlinearity. Third, hyperparameter tuning is performed using GridSearchCV to optimize model performance. This approach enhances stability evaluation, ensuring the reliability of modern power grids under fluctuating renewable energy conditions. © 2025 IEEE.

There have been several developments in renewable resources, standby sources of energy, and storage technologies. Because renewable sources are inconsistent, the best method to ensure supply continuity is to combine them with traditional energy to serve mini-grids or the isolated loads that are not linked to the main grid. In hybrid power system, many different energy sources are blended. Every time, effective and efficient Energy Management Strategies (EMS) are necessary when more than a source of energy is employed to supply a given load. This strategy directs the energy flow via the supply chain. This is necessary not just for standalone hybrid systems, but for hybrid power system that are linked to the main network. The intelligent control of hybrid MG has been the subject of a large number of serious research projects. A comprehensive assessment of the approaches used by a number of writers in their research work on applying energy management approaches is conducted. Standalone hybrid energy systems and the hybrid systems those are linked to the electrical grids are examples of these solutions. The aim of this paper is to give summary of various energy management schemes utilized in sustainable hybrid systems. Brief study is conducted for a number of freestanding and grid-linked hybrid system designs in order to make sure and find that which energy management technique that works well and will be applied for one renewable source is not always the best for another. © 2025 IEEE.

This paper primarily focuses on the design and development of a Low Cost & Compact Ventilator (LCCV) using Proportional Solenoid Valves (PSVs) and DC drive. The PSV, a promising technological component, is used to control the inspiratory to expiratory ratio [I:E ratio] of the ventilator module. Low-cost and low power-consuming electronic products available in the market are employed to produce an efficient, effective, and affordable LCCV. The dual channel DC drive used in the LCCV consists of a pair of step-down DC-DC choppers whose output is connected to two PSVs to control the I:E ratio of the ventilator system. The PWM pulses generated by an Arduino microcontroller is fed to the gate terminals of the MOSFET switches of dual-channel DC drive through driver and opto isolator *** duty cycle of the switching pulses of the dual channel DC drive is adjusted for fast dynamic operation of the PSVs. The inspiratory-to-expiratory (I:E) ratio can be set independently after assessing the patient's condition. A simulation of a dual-channel DC drive is carried out using MATLAB/Simulink, and the results obtained are consistent with the embedded hardware output of the LCCV module. Bluetooth technology is employed to test the functionality of a test lung with ventilator module, which replicates the behaviour of human lungs. The expansion and contraction, as well as the fast dynamic operation of the test lung are found to be controlled efficiently according to the I:E ratio and duty cycle settings of the LCCV module. The designed module is more affordable, operationally effective, and efficient than similar ventilator models on the market, making it ideal for launch with significant benefits for patients, especially in rural areas and ambulance systems. © 2025 IEEE.

In this study, we investigated the effect of arm swinging with a flexible trunk on bipedal locomotion using a simulation model. The model imitates human arm swinging and flexible trunk twisting. The model showed that the center of pressure (CoP) oscillates sinusoidally in the left-right direction by asymmetrical arms swinging. We compared the stability of bipedal locomotion without arm swinging, with symmetrical arm swinging, and with asymmetrical arm swinging, by applying external force. The results showed that asymmetric arm swinging did not lead to fall over with a wider disturbance range and the CoP trajectory gradually became cyclic after the external force was applied. © 2025 IEEE.
