Health status assessment is a key procedure for fault prediction and health management for complex systems. To accurately evaluate the health status of complex systems, this paper proposes a health assessment method based on a directed acyclic graph and an improved Mahalanobis- Taguchi system. Firstly, the Mahalanobis distance between samples of different health statuses is calculated by using the Mahalanobis distance system, and the discrimination degree of each sample combination is analyzed and compared. Then, the multi-classification process of equipment health status is constructed by the directed acyclic graph. Next, different feature combinations are formed by the features selected in the orthogonal experiment, and the Mahalanobis- Taguchi system is constructed separately for each combination. After voting, an improved Mahalanobis- Taguchi system used to divide the final health status category is obtained. Finally, the PHM08 data provided by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States is applied to evaluate the health status of the aero-engine. © 2023 IEEE.

Microservices architecture is popular due to its scalability and flexibility. However, managing and troubleshooting distributed microservices-based systems can be challenging and time consuming. Auto-remediation of anomalies, that is the automated detection and root-causes generation and execution of repair scripts, can reduce the down-times and increase the availability of systems. This thesis will explore the potential and effectiveness of using large language models (LLMs) in auto-remediation. It will develop an auto-remediation framework to mitigate the effects of performance-based anomalies in self-adaptive microservice architectures. Multiple sample microservice applications as test-bed will be rigorously studied, and a dataset will be created to evaluate LLM-based codegeneration models using semantic, lexical, and correctness metrics in zero-shot and few-shot scenarios. Additionally, we will develop reliable prompts for automated Ansible runbook generation and assess their efficiency for orchestrating the auto-remediation process, including deployment, configuration changes, and system recovery to improve application reliability and operational efficiency. © 2023 IEEE.

In the process of arc welding, the analysis of welding quality can be effectively improved by collecting electrical signals and arc forms, etc. Generally, the impact of single parameters such as welding current, welding voltage or welding velocity on welding quality is analyzed. This analysis has one-sided and limitations. In view of this situation, a new method is proposed to improve the welding quality by collecting and controlling the linear energy. An automatic control system for collecting linear energy information of arc welding is designed. By designing circuit of welding current sensor, welding voltage sensor and welding velocity sensor, the system uses S7-1200 PLC controller to optimize PID processing of collected data, control size of linear energy and feedback adjustment of welding parameters. Ensure the automation and intelligence of the control system. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper demonstrates Raspberry-Pi microcontroller can be used to replace Programmable Logic controller (PLC), which is installed in the automation industry for weighing machine control. Weighing machine controller, is an application for automatic packaging of food products such as seeds, grains, nuts, etc. The weighing machine controller includes a PLC application that calculates the weight and controls the filling of the machine. PLC weighing machine control application usually uses the Allen Bradley 5000 PLC, but this project implements the same functional program in the CODESYS programming environment on Raspberry Pi. In this project Raspberry-pi is programmed with Ladder Logic programming using CODESYS environment. Load Cell Transmitter transmits the data continuously to the Raspberry-pi which enhances and resolves the identified issues and improves the application reliability. The result of the project is a functional and reliable solution that has been developed to be able to use the Raspberry Pi to control the weighing machine device instead of the Allen Bradley PLC. The developed solution allows for a significant increase in profitability, user-friendly, and tool flexibility. It is concluded that Raspberry Pi can replace PLC's that is used in industry for some industrial automation process. © 2023 IEEE.

The countries whose economies are built on agriculture and where the meteorological circumstances cause a lack of rain and a scarcity of water served as the inspiration for this paper. The ongoing requirement to monitor over-irrigation is one of the many issues farmers encounter in their regular farming tasks. In this paper, a idea is put out that involves developing a system to fully automate irrigation so that farmer need not work hard. The goal is to install a wireless sensor network in the field that will gather information about soil moisture and monitor weather and send instructions to turn on the water pump if the level drops below a predetermined threshold. The system has been improved by incorporating rain prediction into the architecture. This improves the efficiency of the system to use rain water when it is available. © 2023 IEEE.

Smart grids are important in modern smart cities for setting and managing the response demands, for this, they use Information and Communication Technologies. Many kinds of sensors are used in Smart Grid Environment for the surveillance purposes in an area. Their response time is less which is the reason these are deployed in high-tension areas such as power supply lines so that they can pass and share important information to the control center about any flaw, damage, or any emergency message. Usually, these grids face cyberattacks along with physical attacks and damages when they are deployed to high-tension open environment. Therefore, the objective is the requirement of prevention of such attacks so that the smart grids environment can work efficiently for surveillance. The proposed protocol helps to establish an authenticated key exchange. In order to meet the diversified storage requirements and improve the work safety and warehouse management level, a design of warehouse robot based on STM32 single chip computer is proposed. According to the functional requirements of the experimental environment, the corresponding mechanical structure is designed and the control hardware is selected. The sinusoidal speed regulation is used to control the speed of the robot in the process of starting and braking and to prevent the robot from producing too large shock due to the speed change too fast. At the same time, in order to solve the speed instability and deviation caused by unbalanced center of gravity and uneven distribution of ground friction coefficient, the CASADE PID algorithm of Angle ring and speed ring in series is used to control the motion. The experiment shows that the traveling speed of the robot can be flexibly set according to the actual demand, and the steady-state error between the actual speed and the preset speed is no more than 3%, and the real-time attitude adjustment can be carried out when the speed is stable, and the automatic correction can be made back to the preset trajectory when the deviation occurs. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

This research focuses on the 2023 SPDC competition project, which provides the necessary power for robots based on energy types such as wind and light. Under the guidance of many special restrictions, a competitive task-oriented robot was designed, and it must complete the task of carrying items in the planned field. In order to make it more intelligent, this study conducts experiments and analyzes the charging schedule, so as to formulate a feasible and better solution. From the experimental results, it can be seen that the proposed method can improve the scheme used in past competitions. Saves 32 % in charging time costs and provides 43 % additional scoring time. This also adds 1 kg to the total cumulative weight. In future research work, we will still consider more elements to improve the performance of the robot, making it more competitive and practical. © 2023 IEEE.

Supporting real-time interactions between human controllers and remote devices remains a challenging goal in the Metaverse due to the stringent requirements on computing workload, communication throughput, and round-trip latency. In this paper, we establish a novel framework for real-time interactions through the virtual models in the Metaverse. Specifically, we jointly predict the motion of the human controller for 1) proactive rendering in the Metaverse and 2) generating control commands to the real-world remote device in advance. The virtual model is decoupled into two components for rendering and control, respectively. To dynamically adjust the prediction horizons for rendering and control, we develop a two-step human-in-the-loop continuous reinforcement learning approach and use an expert policy to improve the training efficiency. An experimental prototype is built to verify our algorithm with different communication latencies. Compared with the baseline policy without prediction, our proposed method can reduce 1) the Motion-To-Photon (MTP) latency between human motion and rendering feedback and 2) the root mean squared error (RMSE) between human motion and real-world remote devices significantly. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper designs an epidemic prevention and control mask wearing detection system based on STM32, which is used to monitor the situation of people wearing masks. Tiny-YOLO detection algorithm is adopted in the system, combined with image recognition technology, and two kinds of image data with and without masks are used for network training. Then, the trained model can be used to carry out real-time automatic supervision on the wearing of masks in the surveillance video. When the wrong wearing or not wearing masks are detected, the buzzer will send an alarm, so as to effectively monitor the wearing of masks and remind relevant personnel to wear masks correctly. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.
