The aim of this study is to analyze and design a novel fractional order differentiator which is robust against noise, this method allows to estimate the Caputo fractional order derivative of an unknown bounded noisy signal, also the original signal is estimated. In this sense, our proposal can reduce the effect of noise in the estimation of the original signal as well as in its fractional order derivative. The construction of this differentiator is based on a simple proportional-fractional order integral algorithm. Numerical simulations are performed considering the presence and absence of noise, showing the effectiveness, accuracy and robustness of our fractional order differentiator.

Recently, experiments were conducted with potassium niobate (KNbO

) ceramics, a lead-free material that possesses ferroelectric and piezoelectric properties, among others, by incorporating a platinum implant within them to evaluate their effectiveness as devices for recording electrical potentials from the human body. Using the proposed instrumentation, which includes an isolated differential amplifier and a lock-in amplifier, ECG, EMG, and EOG (eye movement recordings) were obtained. These recordings were compared with those obtained using conventional electrodes, showing similar results.

This paper presents the application of polyvinylidene fluoride PVDF membranes as bite force sensors for monitoring masticatory activity associated with bruxism behavior. Bruxism refers to the clenching or grinding of teeth, which can lead to various orofacial problems. The proposed application of PVDF membranes aims to provide a method for quantitatively measuring bite force in a model of masticatory activity. This paper is part of a work in progress that seeks to establish a correlation between the manifestation of bruxism episodes and the detection of characteristic clinical patterns by analyzing the frequency response of PVDF membranes at different pressures.
