Parametric anti-resonance is a phenomenon that occurs in systems with at least two degrees of freedom; this can be achieved by periodically exciting some parameters of the system. The effect of this properly tuned periodicity is to increase the dissipation in the system, which leads to a raising in the effective damping of vibrations. This contribution presents the design of an open-loop control to reduce the settling time using the anti-resonance concept. The control signal consists of a quasi-periodic signal capable of transferring the system’s oscillations from one mode to another mode of the system. The general averaging technique is used to characterize the dynamics, particularly the so-called slow dynamics of motion. With this analysis, the control signal is designed for the potential application of a microelectromechanical sensor arrangement; for this specific example, up to 96.8% reduction of settling time is achieved.

This paper proposes a new control scheme to coordinate the operation of Flywheels Energy Storage Systems (FESS) within the automatic Generation control (AGC). The proposed control classifies both charging and discharging modes into two zones of operation: normal and critical. The critical zones occur when the FESS is close to be fully charged or discharged. The proposed control provides a significant step towards adopting distributed control for AGC applications, where it gives the FESS self-Authority in determining its output power under critical state-of-charge (SoC). Further, the proposed control guarantees that not only the SoC of FESS is maintained within the limits, but also the post-disturbance oscillations of slow conventional generators are minimized. This would in turn reduces the maintenance cost and increases the lifetime of these conventional generation units. PSCAD simulations have been conducted to validate the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy on the New England IEEE 39 bus test system. © 2023 IEEE.

This article describes a possible method for automating measurements on CNC machines that support measurements in semi-automatic mode by calling parameterized measurement cycles. The proposed method is based on the use of a vision system integrated with a CNC system and approximately determining the geometric parameters and coordinates of the workpiece to fill in the parameters of the measuring cycle. The requirements for the installation of the system hardware on the equipment are formulated. The methodology of measurement using the system is described. Algorithms for obtaining and software processing of images are described, including recognition of the area with the workpiece, automatic correction of brightness and contrast of input images and determination of the contours of the workpieces and their parameters. An algorithm for processing data on the obtained contours for calculating the approximate dimensions of the workpiece relative to the marks previously applied to the machine desktop is also described. The interaction of the vision system with the CNC system is described to run a template control program that causes a filled measuring cycle to determine the position and dimensions of the workpiece accurately. The prototype of the vision system is installed on real equipment. © 2023 IEEE.

The complexity of absolute time process control in industries has increased. Despite this, these processes generally involve significant quantities of data that must be analyzed and controlled quickly to maintain the cadence necessary for sound decision-making. It will all intersect at a higher level when cloud-based automation meets extensive data analysis for an overall jump in real-time process control. With cloud-based automation, routines can be monitored and managed off-plot in real time changes the process to do optimization quickly. As the system is capable of automatically rectifying errors when those occur, a time intensive manual monitoring and intervention will be reduced drastically. Further, being a cloud-based platform, it can collect and store large data streams, allowing big-data analytics practices to be applied. Big data analysis will enable organizations to recognize patterns and trends in the process, which is a significant source of value for insights on optimizing it. In addition to this, proactive maintenance can done and costly down times that result due to breakdowns before they happen through predictive analysis as potential failures or anomalies are much smoother. This model means that data has cross-department function and usage through the cloud, leading to more excellent optimization and better decision-making. © 2024 IEEE.

The COVID-19 outbreak is a major global catastrophe of our time and the largest hurdle since World War II. According to WHO, as of July 2022, there are more than 571 million confirmed cases of COVID-19 and over six million deaths. The issue of identifying unexpected inputs based on trained examples of normal data is known as anomaly detection. In the case of diagnosing covid-19, Chest X-ray disorders that are hardly apparent are extremely challenging to identify. Although various well-known supervised classification methods are being applied for that purpose, however in the real scenario, healthy patients' data is tremendously available but contaminated samples are scarce. The process of gathering samples from ill patients is troublesome and takes a lengthy time. To address the issue of data imbalance in anomaly detection, this research demonstrates an unsupervised learning technique using a convolutional autoencoder in which the training phase does not include any infected sample. Being trained only with the healthy data, The patterns of the healthy samples are preserved in latent vector space and can differentiate ill samples by observing substantial divergence from the distribution of healthy data. Higher reconstruction error and lower KDE (Kernel Density Estimation) indicate affected data. By contrasting the reconstruction error and KDE of healthy data with anomalous data, the suggested technique is feasible for identifying anomalous samples. © 2022 IEEE.

In this study, we propose to use NuttyFi ESP8266 WiFi board to measure water level in an inventive way that combines creativity and state-of-the-art technology. We further propose simple connectivity and real-time data transfer using the ESP8266 NuttyFi WiFi board, allowing customers to check the water level from any position on the planet. This system also incorporates an actuator module that automatically regulates the motor according level of water. Thus, the pump will automatically shut down by minimizing energy waste and preventing waste when there is sufficient water. The method monitors and regulate the water tank without being physical presence by using NuttyFi ESP8266 WiFi board. Utilizing a smartphone or tablet, users may easily get water level data and oversight choices thanks to the implementation of the Blynk IoT app. Additionally, the precision and dependability of the readings of the water level are improved by the use of ultrasonic technology. In the end, the proposed system proposes to revolutionize the monitoring of water levels by combining state-of-the-art technology, wireless communication, and intelligent control. It proposes an effective and easy to use solution for optimal water management by supplying customers with immediate time information and automatic pump control. When compared to recent state-of-the-art systems, our system shows efficient and appropriate performance with less computational cost. © 2024 Bharati Vidyapeeth, New Delhi.

The Railway Track Tracer technology for Creature Detection is a technology that detects fractures in railway tracks. This method will assist in preventing numerous train accidents. This device routinely checks railway rails with a camera and DC motors to detect fractures and take appropriate action to avoid accidents. The Internet of Things is the most studied field, and its applications are endless. Internet of Things (IOT) has been implemented to provide up-to-date updates on railway management. In this mode, an IR sensor is used to check the availability of the platform. This system is used to update the platform availability to the upcoming train to avoid or to prevent accidents by the usage of Zigbee, which acts as wireless communication from station to train and from train to station and detects fire and automatic engine detachment. To update the platform availability. There has been an upsurge in railway accidents caused mainly by track quandaries. That might be a misalignment, an obstacle, a crack in one of the track's sides, or some other fault with the track. So, keeping track of all these difficulties is a time-consuming chore for a person. The scope of the paper encompasses detecting the cracks on rail tracks using network signals - checking the platform availability, Zigbee for the communication, fire sensor for detecting the fire ultrasonic sensors, and Nodemcu can be used. The Railway Track Tracer technology for Creature Detection is a technology that detects fractures in railway tracks. This method will assist in preventing numerous train accidents. © 2024 IEEE.

Autoencoder is a widely used neural architecture for dimensionality reduction. It can be considered similar to the principal component analysis (PCA) methodology. However, the final distribution of the components between classes does not establish orthogonality between them, which can result in a reduced separation between different classes. To address this issue, we present a modified autoencoder architecture with an orthogonal variant. The error minimization equation has been changed to ensure orthogonality between the final components. Our experiments show that the proposed orthogonal autoencoder architecture generates a final distribution with more separability than the PCA numerical process and a typical autoencoder architecture. This makes it a promising approach for applications that require high separability between different classes.

Since the beginning of the seventeenth century, wheelchairs have been used to transport hospital patients and those with mobility impairments. The power of people is what spreads wheelchairs. Wheelchair users propel themselves forward using their upper bodies or, more commonly, require the assistance of another person to propel them. In this work, we examine how to build an autonomous electric wheelchair for the disabled at the lowest possible cost without sacrificing quality of design or control. This research presents the planning and development of an AI-enhanced electric wheelchair that can be controlled automatically to climb stairs, making it accessible to those with mobility impairments. The chair's controls allow the user to move it in any direction and raise the landing and staircases to varying heights. The chair's DC power source (battery used) may be recharged, allowing it to function for an extended period of time. In addition, a safety system was created that monitors and provides feedback on the user's pulse rate, as well as the wheelchair's functioning state (including acceleration, climate, and inclination position). This proposed AI based Wheelchair (AIWC) design is suitable for any aged people and the proposed model is cross-validated with the conventional wheelchair design using mobile based operations handling system called Mobile-Wheelchair (MWC) to test the efficiency of the proposed design in clear manner. © 2024 IEEE.
