Meningioma is one of the most common and serious intracranial tumors. Multiparametric MRI (mpMRI) has been shown to provide significant information for precise tumor diagnosis. Manual segmentation of the meningioma is both lengthy and challenging. automatic segmentation with high accuracy is of high interest. However, the state-of-art studies investigating automatic meningioma segmentation are unsatisfying in accuracy. An end-to-end network, MenUnet, is proposed to directly segment the whole 3D volume of MRIs. It captures the correlation among the surrounding slices in the 3D volume for accurate meningioma segmentation. It is validated in the public Brain Tumor Segmentation (BraTS) 2023 Meningioma Challenge, achieving the 5th in the validation phase. The dice scores of Enhancing Tumor (ET), Tumor core (TC), and whole tumor (WT), respectively, are 82.62%, 82.21%, and 83.00%. In the testing phase, the dice scores of Enhancing Tumor (ET), Tumor core (TC), and whole tumor (WT), respectively, are 83.01%, 82.01%, and 76.05%. The results show that MenUnet has the potential to assist the clinical practice of meningioma diagnosis. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

The primary goal of this research report is to investigate the challenging topic of flight dynamics control-regulation over a quadrotor UAV's orientation (attitude) in the presence of wind disturbances and unmodeled dynamics. To do this, we first create a viable output feedback controller-regulator that incorporates Filters High Gain Observers (FHGO) of ultimate generation, feedback and Radial Basis Function Neural Network (RBF) compensation of estimated disturbances. Furthermore, the usage of reliable sliding mode controllers. Then, despite wind dynamics, noise in sensor outputs, velocity estimates, and common modeling mistakes, a quadrotor UAV is maintained at a given orientation utilizing such a controller. Finally, the effectiveness of the suggested controller is investigated in a simulation framework using a realistic physical model of a quadrotor UAV.

The article focuses on the development and testing of an experimental local air cryotherapy unit. The device uses a single-stage vapor compression cycle with refrigerant R404A to cool air to temperatures ranging from -30°C to -35°C. The designed control system ensures the stability of operational parameters and allows airflow regulation based on nozzle diameter and target area. The results of the experimental unit's operation in various modes are presented. The findings confirm the effectiveness of the control system for conducting regulated cryotherapy procedures and the applicability of the experimental unit for studying optimal cooling modes. © 2025 IEEE.

In this paper is proposed a Data Driven control (DDC) law of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Machine (PMSM) drive as an alternative to the Model Predictive control (MPC) strategy. The DDC method is designed for the inner control structure of the PMSM drive, the outer speed loop being employed by a classical linear PI controller. Thus, the DDC is based on build up a database of the relevant quantities as electromagnetic torque, speed, voltages and current, all obtained in steady-state regime with MPC strategy, being selected for the highest efficiency values for a given pair of speed and torque. The learning process of the DDC strategy by a mutidimesional interpolation method leads to obtain high performances in both steady-state and dynamic regimes, without any additional optimal current reference command. A comparative analysis done in Matlab simulation environment of the results obtained by both MPC and DDC control laws shows the effectiveness of the last strategies. The DDC method provide a robust optimal control under energetic constraints, being more suitable then the classical MPC law that can not offers reliable results for a large area of conditions in practice. © 2024 IEEE.

automatic image classification using pre-trained deep learning (PDL) schemes are widely employed in several domains. This research aims to verify the classification performance of the chosen PDL schemes using the Corn Leaf Image (CLI) dataset. Stages existing in the proposed system include;(i) CLI collection, resizing and pre-processing with histogram equalization, (ii) feature extraction using chosen PDL scheme, (iii) SoftMax supported binary classification, and (iv) performance evaluation and verification. In this study, 3000 CLI images (1500 normal and 1500 rust instances) are examined. The experimental investigation of the study reveals that the VGG16 scheme exhibits superior classification accuracy on the chosen CLI dataset. Specifically, it achieves an accuracy of >93% when considering raw images and attains 100% accuracy when using pre-processed images. This research confirms that, in comparison to other models such as VGG19, ResNet variants, and DenseNet variants investigated in this study, VGG16 provides better result for the CLI dataset. © 2023 IEEE.

The model predictive control (MPC) for single-phase cascaded H-bridge (CHB) five-level inverter is presented. The discrete-time model of the CHB five-level inverter as well as the MPC algorithm proposed for this system are explained in detail. These are programmed and simulated digitally using the Matlab/Simulink software to observe the performance of the inverter in terms of the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the current and the tracking of its reference, especially when the current reference presents sudden changes. The developed MPC, which is discrete in nature, is compared to a level shifted pulse width modulation (PWM) control scheme, as it is one of the most widely used modulation strategies in this type of multilevel converters, to perform a comparative analysis. The simulation results show that the MPC algorithm presents an excellent performance, especially when sudden load changes occur and in the THD level that the current presents. © 2022 IEEE.

As a core component of overhead line engineering construction, the construction safety of tension wire laying is crucial to the safety and high-quality development of power grid construction. At present, the monitoring method for tension wire laying process is single, and it is unable to timely and effectively monitor the situation of wire running or breakage. The centralized control visualization tension payout on-site warning system consists of wireless self-organizing network transmission equipment, visualization monitoring equipment, digital tensioning equipment, centralized control equipment, etc. It realizes real-time monitoring, evaluation, adjustment, and warning of the entire process of tension payout, greatly reducing the probability of tension payout construction accidents, effectively improving the safety of payout construction and ensuring construction quality. This study investigates self-organizing network technology, tension monitoring equipment, and intelligent monitoring and early warning technology suitable for transmission line circuit sites. It also conducts research and application on a centralized control visualization tension release on-site early warning system. The developed tension release entire process monitoring, control, feedback adjustment, and early warning integrated system breaks through the technical bottleneck in the field of tension release monitoring. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper deals with the problem of combining task and motion planning for a manipulator system. We propose a linear temporal logic (LTL) approach which follows the traditional hierarchical planning process, including task planning and motion planning. Firstly, the feasible network topology graph is obtained from the high-level task planning module, and the planning algorithm of search is used to obtain the task sequence. Secondly, the coordination module receives the task sequence to extract the manipulator's action sequence to make planning suggestions. Furthermore, a lower level planning module is used to receive the suggestions and motion planning is performed using sampled planning algorithms to generate and output the motion trajectory. Finally, we verified the feasibility of our method through simulations and physical experiments. Our method has smoother trajectories and is about 10% more efficient than the traditional method of setting way points. © 2024 IEEE.

Securing cloud computing is a significant challenge for the cloud services sector. If someone is using the cloud to store data, choosing an encryption method that would not slow things down too much while providing a high-security level is essential. The world is going through a massive transformation from the electrical to the digital era. Though the mobile industry is quickly increasing, it has not yet fully advanced in terms of capability, storage, and capacity to meet customer demands. This paper focusses on cloud data security using hybrid encryption (RSA + proxy-re-encryption) with Blockchain Technology (BCT). BCT provides high data security, decentralization, an open and transparent network design, and minimal operational costs. The proposed method is also focused on BC-based decentralized consortium traceable anonymous cloud data storage and sharing system. It alleviates the blockchain’s massive data storage load using an "on-chain & off-chain" paradigm. The proposed solution enables fine-grained access control of outsourced data by presenting an upgraded proxy re-encryption with the RSA algorithm. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

This study presents an intelligent strategy designed to enhance the efficacy of routing in VANETs. In particular, this work presents a new clustering approach for Cluster Head (CH) selection based on a weighted formula. Our protocol's objectives are to create clusters and allocate C H to each of them. In our protocol, three significant parameters are involved in C H selection process, including vehicle speed, average vehicle distance among other vehicles, and vehicle LifeTime (LT). By considering vehicle speed, the protocol enhances route stability and dependability while the average distance of a vehicle among other vehicles mitigates long-distance communications. Interestingly, the vehicle LT greatly minimizes the control overhead. Furthermore, for improved programmability and scalability, our approach incorporates novel technologies like Software Defined Network (SDN) and Fog computing (FC) for location awareness. Proper network simulations are performed to test the performance of our proposed protocol, and considerable increases in terms of throughput are achieved over those of our protocol's counterparts. © 2024 IEEE.
