This work presents a physically based simulation evaluation of the effects of single ionizing particles and displacement damage on logic inverter gates in a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) with 180 nm structure size. A technology computer-aided-design (TCAD) model is combined with a radiation model to allow the simulation of charged particles with a linear energy transfer (LET) between 1 and 100 $\frac{M e V \cdot c m^simulation}{m g}$ . For displacement damage simulation, proton energies between 1 and 10 MeV and neutron energies between 1.6 and 14 MeV have been evaluated to estimate the resulting transistor threshold voltages.

This research focuses on the evolving field of hybrid computing, which combines traditional computing architectures with advanced computational paradigms like quantum computing, neuromorphic computing, or cloud-edge computing. Hybrid computing involves integrating multiple computing models or systems to leverage their complementary strengths. For example, combining classical computing with quantum or neuromorphic approaches to solve complex problems more efficiently. The goal is to enhance computational power, increase efficiency, and tackle problems that are difficult for traditional computing models alone. Emerging technologies, including quantum computing, machine learning, and AI, are driving the need for hybrid systems. These technologies enable the handling of more complex computations that classical systems struggle with, such as optimization, simulation, and cryptography. The integration of cloud and edge computing is also central to hybrid computing, enabling decentralized computation and processing closer to data sources. Combining different computing paradigms requires seamless communication and integration between systems, which is a significant technical challenge. Main challenging areas are scalability, software and hardware compatibility, energy efficiency and security. There is a need for standard protocols and frameworks to enable smoother integration of various computing systems. New algorithms that can take advantage of hybrid architectures need to be developed. Depend on applications significant advancements in hardware, including quantum processors, neuromorphic chips, and integrated hybrid processors required. The rise of hybrid computing will also bring ethical concerns, such as the impact on jobs, privacy, and inequality in access to advanced technologies. This paper gives (i) an overview of the reconfiguration capabilities of modern hardware devices and (ii) a summary and comparison of hardware architectures that use random reconfiguration as a countermeasure against side-channel attacks. We categorize the architectures according to their suitability for specic hardware platforms. Further, we compare the reconfiguration methods and the attacks that the countermeasures protect against. Although the presented randomization countermeasures can usually be applied to a broad range of algorithms, evaluation results are presented for specific cryptographic algorithms. In most cases, randomization countermeasures can be combined with other countermeasures that are tailored to specific algorithms.

computer architects and researchers in the real-time domain start to investigate processors and architectures optimized for real-time systems. Optimized for real-time systems means time predictable, i.e., architectures where it is possible to statically derive a tight bound of the worst-case execution time. To compare different approaches we would like to quantify time predictability. That means we need to measure time predictability. In this paper we discuss the different approaches for these measurements and conclude that time predictability is practically not quantifiable. We can only compare the worst-case execution time bounds of different architectures.

In recent years several approaches for parallel SystemC simulation were proposed, which are mainly based on the synchronous parallel simulation principle. We propose a new simulation approach which uses the asynchronous parallel simulation principle. By using an appropriate modeling style where the communication is modeled by transaction events our kernel can exploit the inherent parallelism of simulation models. Experiments show that our approach can exploit the inherent parallelism in cases where the classical synchronous approach cannot. In this paper the underlying simulation algorithm and the modeling constructs are presented.
