The government of The Netherlands has mandated public organizations to disclose an algorithm register in the future. This aligns with the upcoming AI Act of the European Union, as a directive that aims to enhance transparency in algorithmic decision-making and use. This research highlights that the practices are rarely mature and not fully understood, which is characterized by their variability. The novelty of the practices in the industry and the limited research to date, currently make this a chaotic domain. In this research, we explore this domain through a method engineering approach. We conduct six case studies to elicit the process that each organization applies or envisions to manage their algorithm register. We model their processes using Process-Deliverable Diagrams, a meta-modeling technique that integrates dynamic and static perspectives. By applying a systematic method comparison approach, we compare and combine the processes into a single reference method for algorithm register management (RM4AR). This paper documents the process and outcomes of developing such a reference method, demonstrating how method engineering techniques aid in bringing structure into an emerging field.

This survey article presents a number of optimization algorithms based on the natural selection with the help of collecting data on the precision medicine and cholesterol disease prediction. Of course, it refers to the fact that traditional measures go only down to individual differences. This looks into contemporary methods for enhancing the predictive capacity;these include ant colony optimization algorithm, simulated annealing, particle swarm optimization and genetic optimization. This paper examines current strategies for cholesterol levels prediction with emphasis having been placed on creating individualized treatments based on patient parameters. The comparison helps to identify that algorithms derived from nature are more effective compared to the other approaches and methodologies. The study is useful for the researchers and healthcare practitioners who are looking for the use of computational approaches in designing individual cholesterol treatment. Therefore it carries out the possible ethical problems as well as the limitation particularly the data security concern and the future recommendation for the research. © 2024 IEEE.

Population aging has become a major issue in Asian countries. Advances in computer algorithms have enabled the design and development of smart home and elderly care devices. Given the limitations of existing fall detection algorithms, this paper proposes a method for an intelligent fall prevention system for the elderly, focusing on non-negative matrix factorization visual correction. This research addresses the challenges of automatically adjusting the parameters of visual detection systems in real-world scenarios. The method combines LSTM with non-negative matrix factorization visual optimization algorithms to eliminate environmental noise’s impact on visual analysis. It iteratively estimates background noise power levels based on algorithm reference layers, achieving accurate detection of elderly fall behaviors and posture features. The proposed method compensates for inaccuracies in posture description and significant tracking errors of traditional integer-order admittance control. Experimental results show that, compared to other methods, the proposed method offers superior fall posture detection performance. Therefore, it can be effectively applied to elderly care smart home systems, providing new strategies for optimizing smart furniture performance. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

This paper focuses on the challenges of modeling and verifying symmetric distributed algorithms with point-to-point and bidirectional communications using the SPIN model checker. In this paper, we first state the problems of implementing the model of such algorithms in the Promela language. Then, we present a solution for each of these problems, where these solutions present a hybrid data structure that facilitates the definition of any set of variables or channels as a matrix. Also, we model and verify one of the valuable and practical algorithms called the causal broadcast (CB) algorithm as a case study using the proposed method. In addition, we specify the main properties of the CB algorithm, namely validity, integrity, causal delivery, and termination, in Linear Temporal Logic (LTL) and then verify them using the SPIN model checker. © 2024 IEEE.

In modern agriculture, the quest for enhanced crop yield and nutrient efficiency is paramount. Leveraging the Gradient Boosting Regressor algorithm, this research proposes a novel method to address this challenge. By analyzing historical rainfall data and soil fertility levels, the system predicts crop nutrient requirements, aiding farmers in making informed decisions on fertilizer application. Moreover, real-time weather forecasts are integrated to issue timely alerts, mitigating risks associated with adverse weather conditions. Because of the damage it can do to people, communities, and countries, the massive spread of misinformation across many internet stages has develop an urgent issue. In order to address this issue, the scientific community is presently making significant efforts. Fighting disinformation at its earliest stages is difficult since current techniques for detecting fake news overstate the impact of public opinion. In order to address this problematic, the paper suggests a new framework for detecting bogus news using optimizer-based Deep Learning. At first, the d-D feature vectors for the textual data are recovered using the TF-IDF weighting algorithm. The LSTM algorithm is then told to use the retrieved characteristics. To process the parameters of LSTM and extract the n-gram from the text, the Stray Lion Swarm Optimization Algorithm (SLSOA) is used. In order to identify false news, these retrieved traits are then combined. We apply established assessment methods to two real-world datasets of false news and assess the outcomes. Also included are comparisons with other meta-heuristic algorithms and more modern approaches to detecting false news. The outcomes clearly demonstrate that the suggested model outperforms current models on different datasets. LSTM-SLOA attained as 0.9865 and LSTM measure as 0.7414 and then RNN as 0.7525 and also CNN as 0.6381 and then DBN attained as 0.8118 congruently. © 2024 IEEE.

Generative Adversarial Networks are employed by GAN-based models in image steganography to efficiently conceal information from images while preserving their visual integrity. These models are made up of two primary parts: the discriminator which determines if an image is a real image or a stego-image, and the generator which embeds the hidden data into images. The generator learns how to embed data in a way that minimizes obvious distortions through adversarial training, where the discriminator and generator fight to make the hidden data less noticeable to detection algorithms and human observers. High data capacity and versatility are strengths of GAN-based steganography models, which enable efficient data concealment across a variety of image formats and steganographic techniques. They dynamically adjust the embedding procedure to strike a compromise between image quality and data capacity. They do, however, come with certain drawbacks such as the need for sophisticated model training, high processing overhead and hyperparameter sensitivity. Notwithstanding these drawbacks, GAN-based techniques mark a substantial breakthrough in the development of delicate and reliable image steganography techniques. © 2024 IEEE.

In this proposed approach an A-CNN-LSTM model that, over the medium to long term, can forecast, down to the hourly level, the patterns of electricity use in commercial and residential buildings. Institutional and residential buildings account for the vast bulk of America's overall energy usage. Thanks to developments in smart technologies and sensors, there is a need to forecast the medium- to long-term hourly electricity consumption of home and business buildings. This is to help with decision-making for operations, demand response strategies, and distributed generation system installations. To achieve the best possible results during model training, feature selection, and preprocessing, it is essential to adhere strictly to this strategy. Since some data on daily precipitation was lost during pre-processing, the Lagrange interpolation method was used to fill in the gaps. Feature selection makes use of PSO-K-means clustering technique. An A-CNN-LSTM was employed for the purpose of training the model. Traditional methods, such as LSTM and CNN, are surpassed by the suggested approach. Applying the strategy resulted in a 93.15 % improvement in accuracy. © 2024 IEEE.
