High-level Synthesis (HLS) significantly enhances the development of multi-processor systems-on-chip by simplifying FPGA module development. In this work, we use HLS to develop multiple approaches of microarchitectures for Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) cryptographic (crypto) FPGA modules and compare them. Our approaches mostly focus on the application of parallelism when using HLS for automatic Register-Transfer Level (RTL) design generation. We compare the result of our approaches with a traditionally developed RTL implementation concerning maximum throughput and resource utilization. We also do a comparison to published state-of-the-art RTL-code-based development, and other HLS-based crypto module development approaches. By using HLS, we can reduce development time compared to the traditional RTL-code-based development. Furthermore, we improve the theoretical performance of our crypto module to achieve a maximum clock frequency of up to 343 MHz and a data rate of 43.90 Gbps (128-bit processing per clock cycle). Alternatively, the resource utilization of FPGA can be optimized to be lower than for the traditionally-developed implementation. As future work, the diversification of resource utilization and other approaches presented in this paper may be used to reduce side-channel leakage of signal properties.

The present book includes a set of selected best papers from the 3rd internationalconference on Recent Developments in Science, Engineering and Technology (REDSET 2016), held in Gurgaon, India, from 21 to 22 October 2016. The conference focused on the experimental, theoretical and application aspects of innovations in computational intelligence and provided a platform for the academicians and scientists. This book provides an insight into ongoing research and future directions in this novel, continuously evolving field. Many decades have been devoted to creating and refining methods and tools for computational intelligence such as Artificial Neural Networks, Evolutionary Computation, Fuzzy logic, Computational Swarm Intelligence and Artificial Immune Systems. However, their applications have not yet been broadly disseminated. Computational intelligence can be used to provide solutions to many real-life problems, which could be translated into binary languages, allowing computers to process them. These problems, which involve various fields such as robotics, bioinformatics, computational biology, gene expression, cancer classification, protein function prediction, etc., could potentially be solved using computational intelligence techniques.

dealing with incomplete information is fuzzy rather than probability. Modeling fuzziness in various situations is necessary. In this paper, a new representation of fizzy set typ-2, fuzzy set a- cut and fuzzy temporal set occurs in fuzzy propositions. These fuzzy quantifiers set, fizzy set typ-2, fuzzy set a- cut, fuzzy temporal sets, fuzzy granular sets, fuzzy rough sets type- 2, default fuzzy sets and fuzzy probability sets are studied. These are generalized and quantified. This work is only trying to generalize fuzzy logic in computation of incomplete information.

This paper investigates design and implementation of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm for Photo Voltaic (PV) applications on field-programmable Gate Array (FPGA) platform. The algorithm is developed by means of Hardware Description Language (Verilog). Algorithms were simulated on MODELSIM software and synthesized using ALTERA Quartus II software. Furthermore, hardware implementation is done using ALTERA Cyclone II FPGA starter board to verify the performance of the designed algorithms. The paper will investigate whether FPGA is a suitable hardware platform for real time MPPT controller.

The Mobile Cloud Network is an emerging cost and capacity heterogeneous distributed cloud topological paradigm that aims to remedy the application performance constraints imposed by centralised cloud infrastructures. A centralised cloud infrastructure and the adjoining Telecom network will struggle to accommodate the exploding amount of traffic generated by forthcoming highly interactive applications. Cost effectively managing a Mobile Cloud Network computing infrastructure while meeting individual application's performance goals is non-trivial and is at the core of our contribution. Due to the scale of a Mobile Cloud Network, a centralised approach is infeasible. Therefore, in this paper a distributed algorithm that addresses these challenges is presented. The presented approach works towards meeting individual application's performance objectives, constricting system-wide operational cost, and mitigating resource usage skewness. The presented distributed algorithm does so by iteratively and independently acting on the objectives of each component with a common heuristic objective function. Systematic evaluations reveal that the presented algorithm quickly converges and performs near optimal in terms of system-wide operational cost and application performance, and significantly outperforms similar naive and random methods.

Fog and Edge Computing infrastructures have been proposed to address the latency issue of the current Cloud Computing platforms. While a couple of works illustrated the advantages of these infrastructures in particular for the Internet of Things (IoT) applications, elementary Cloud services that can take advantage of the geo-distribution of resources have not been proposed yet. In this paper, we propose a first-class object store service for Fog/Edge facilities. Our proposal is built with Scale-out Network Attached Storage systems (NAS) and IPFS, a BitTorrent-based object store spread throughout the Fog/Edge infrastructure. Without impacting the IPFS advantages particularly in terms of data mobility, the use of a Scale-out NAS on each site reduces the inter-site exchanges that are costly but mandatory for the metadata management in the original IPFS implementation. Several experiments conducted on Grid' 5000 testbed are analyzed and confirmed, first, the benefit of using an object store service spread at the Edge and second, the importance of mitigating inter-site accesses. The paper concludes by giving a few directions to improve the performance and fault tolerance criteria of our Fog/Edge Object Store Service.

In today's modern era a theoretical based approach is followed to determine the amount of chlorophyll present in leaves of plants. But in this paper a practical based approach is followed to generate an architecture of simple, low cost Chlorophyll estimator using fieldprogrammable Gate Array(FPGA). Color of leaf can give an indication for assessing plant health and nutrient. Performance analysis of several regression model shows that multivariate regression model with nonlinear terms provides best fit between estimated terms. We found that the residuals are near in baseline and the adjusted coefficient of determination is very significant. Root mean square error (RMSE), standard deviation, variance and mean of some leaf image samples is taken. A digital system is generated in which Matlab input is used in Xilinx and synthesized results are generated using Verilog code.
