Renewable energy resources are the energy sources favorable to use for human life as compared to conventional sources. The solar energy being a perfect option of renewable energy is pollution free, economic, recyclable and found abundantly throughout the globe. The main problem associated with solar is its comparatively higher installation cost and low efficiency as against thermal and nuclear sources etc. The goal of this paper is to enhance efficiency and power delivery of a solar photo-voltaic system and its integration with home grid. To achieve the maximum efficiency output;maximum power point tracking (MPPT) mechanism with boost converter has been implemented. The MPPT charge controller ensures that the loads receive maximum power obtained at all times by using incremental conductance algorithm. With the use of inverter, the conversion of direct current(DC) to alternating current(AC) supply has been done and supplied AC loads of home grid. Utilizing MATLAB/Simulink, the proposed technique has been enacted. The outcomes shows that the power supplied to the residential complex (Home grid) is obtained in the most economic and sustainable manner. © 2023 Bharati Vidyapeeth, New Delhi.

There are a lot of spatiotemporal data in the power grid, such as planning operation and maintenance data, operation data, management data and power data, etc. These data are often massive in volume. They constitute the impression of the real world in the virtual digital world, which contains a lot of wealth. However, the emergence of massive data in the power grid brings both opportunities and many challenges to the industry, one of which is the problem of computing power in the data analysis of the power grid. Due to the large volume of data, multimodality and heterogeneity, etc., it causes a huge computational load. Therefore, using distributed computing, heterogeneous computing and other technologies to accelerate the high-performance deployment of power grid big data analysis and applications has excellent practical application value and theoretical research value. According to the industrialization and informatization needs of modern power IoT, synergize the advantages of the cyber physical system (CPS) and power IoT, and establish an analysis and calculation engine based on CPS. This paper revolves around the four processes of CPS, namely status perception, real-time analysis, scientific decision-making and accurate implementation. This paper presents a simple algorithm for mitigating neutral point voltage fluctuations (NPVF) in a 3-level Neutral point clamped inverter (3L-NPCI) used for solar applications. The proposed algorithm does not require determining the direction of the neutral point current and hence by simply controlling the percentage of the P-type and N-type medium vectors applied in each switching cycle the NPVF of the mid-point can be controlled within limits. The algorithm can easily be implemented in the software and can be integrated with the SVPWM-based PWM technique. The NPVF of the mid- point of the DC link capacitor in a grid-tied 3L-NPCI is reduced without using costly bulk DC capacitors, additional hardware with switching circuits or passive elements. The selected PWM scheme utilizes both P-Type and N-Type vectors in each dwell time calculation which makes this algorithm simple to implement in the software. The effectiveness of the algorithm is further validated using simulation results on the 225 kW 3L-NPCI based grid-tied solar inverter. © 2023 IEEE.

As modern power systems evolve in complexity and dynamism, there arises a pressing need for innovative methodologies to streamline their management and optimization. Decentralization strategies, enabled by edge computing and Digital Twins (DTs), offer promising remedies to these issues by facilitating real-time interaction with physical systems and integrating data for advanced analytics, including predictive forecasting. While Smart grids have emerged as efficient solutions for enhancing system performance and reducing costs, certain challenges persist. This paper proposes a novel blockchain-based system designed to counter data poisoning within the domain of energy forecasting in smart grids. Our framework not only ensures the integrity of data but also fortifies defenses against attacks aimed at disrupting data-driven applications. Validation in a practical energy forecasting scenario demonstrates the reliability and efficacy of our approach. Results demonstrate the feasibility of the approach while providing positive insights about the detection of attacks.

This paper presents a multifunctional unified power quality conditioner (MUPQC) for distributed generation (DG) applications to emulate the behaviour of a synchronous generator besides the power quality enhancement. There are major dependability issues with the grid as a result of the increased use of renewable energy sources. The conventional synchronous generator has characteristics that support the stability and operation of the grid by providing voltage and frequency support. This power system reliability problem may be solved by operating the power electronic converter as a synchronous machine. Both generation side stability problems and load side harmonics problems can be solved by integrating the synchronous machine characteristics with the unified power quality conditioner (UPQC). In this study, this proposed converter system is termed as multifunctional UPQC (MUPQC). The innovative aspect of the study is the shunt converter's control algorithm, which imitates the characteristics of synchronous generators while compensating for local current harmonics. So, this proposed MUPQC assists in frequency regulation and also has the ability to operate seamlessly between grid connected and standalone modes. Moreover, this proposed MUPQC eliminates the need of PLL. The proposed control strategy of the MUPQC is validated by performing MATLAB simulation. © 2023 IEEE.

In view of the current problems of very few samples of electricity bill collection fraud and difficulty in identifying abnormal power payment users, this paper proposes a method to identify electricity bill collection fraud based on nearest neighbor metric matching. First, by analyzing the characteristics of multi-source data on users' electricity consumption, the user payment behavior portrait categories are depicted. Subsequently, Gaussian process regression was used to build a user payment behavior prediction model based on normal user payment sample data. Finally, combined with dynamic multi-objective gravity search to obtain their nearest neighbor groups with different metrics, through abnormal probability distributionmatching, the abnormal payment thresholds and abnormal payment cycle thresholds of categories without abnormal payment user records are obtained, thereby generating electricity bill collection fraud screening rules and storing them on the blockchain as smart contracts, the accounts of abnormal transactions are checked through smart contracts. The experimental results show that the proposed method can promptly and accurately identify abnormal paying users, thereby effectively reducing fraud in electricity bill channels.

The power system applies high precision satellite navigation signal as a unified time reference to realize the power network scheduling control. Chinese electric power system mainly adopts the space-based time-timing scheme based on Bei Dou navigation Satellite (BDS) and assisted by Global Position System (GPS). However, due to the semi-open character of civil GNSS applications, the risk of interference to the time synchronization of the power system is caused by various kinds of radio waves, and it leads to synchronization network disorder, and affects the stableness and reliability of the operating electric power grid. This paper analyzes the principle of satellite timing synchronization in power system and the characteristic of interference signals, puts forward a targeted design scheme of satellite time synchronization monitoring system, and analyzes the key technologies, and to provide technical reference and improvement ideas for the safety protection of power time synchronization system. © COPYRIGHT SPIE. Power vision is a technology that utilizes image processing and analysis techniques for intelligent recognition and monitoring of devices and environments in the power system. The application of power vision faces challenges such as insufficient data transmission bandwidth, poor real-time data processing, and inadequate data security and privacy protection, which limit the efficiency and quality of power vision applications. In order to address these challenges, this paper presents a design of a power vision edge computing device based on the AI chip Atlas 200, enabling real-time processing and analysis of power vision images at the edge, closer to the data source. This paper introduces the overall design of the device, software deployment, and the migration of deep learning algorithms. Furthermore, it showcases the effectiveness and advantages of the device in the specific application scenario of transmission line icing detection. © 2023 SPIE · 0277-786X ·

Digital twin platform that builds digital models of the buildings and infrastructures plays an important role in smart city design, construction and maintenance. The digital twin models are capable of utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and information technologies, such as perception, calculation and modeling to describe, diagnose, predict and make decisions on the cyber-enabled world based on the big data collected by various sensor networks. In this study, an innovative digital twin platform is designed and implemented for a smart grid system and grid substation in Zhejiang, China. The proposed digital twin model improves the original traditional operation and maintenance of the smart grid system into an intelligent grid management system. The management, operation, and maintenance capabilities of the substation are improved. The proposed method achieves the purpose of improving business efficiency, reducing overall costs, and creating business value. © 2021 IEEE.

As the core building block of blockchain technology, Byzantine Fault Tolerance (BFT) consensus has gathered renewed attention during the past decade. A large number of BFT consensus protocols have been proposed since its inception in the 1980s, the best-known of which is Practical Byzantine Fault Tolerance (PBFT). Generally speaking, PBFT consists of two sub-protocols: normal-case protocol and view-change protocol. However, it requires 7 δ for a client to commit a request in the normal case, where δ represents the actual network delay. If a request happens to go through the view change process, it will take additional 7 δ for a client to commit a request. To reduce the consensus latency, we propose a novel BFT consensus protocol named EBFT, which introduces the shortcut replies to the consensus design. With these shortcut replies, EBFT reduces the normal-case latency and view-change latency to 5 δ and 2 δ, respectively. Extensive experiments are conducted to evaluate EBFT, whose results demonstrate its effectiveness. © 2023 IEEE.
