This paper presents the design and experimental validation of a current control technique for Pulse-width modulated (PWM) rectifiers under both balanced and unbalanced grid voltages. In particular, unbalanced grid voltages can cause double fundamental frequency oscillations in the DC-link voltage. These DC-link voltage oscillations can be removed by setting the grid current to accurately track a specific current reference. In this paper, the proposed controller utilizes a cascaded control scheme comprising of an outer voltage loop and an inner current loop. The outer loop controller is designed to generate the specific current reference needed to maintain the DC-link voltage constant and at its reference. The inner current loop consists of a state-feedback controller coupled with a disturbance observer to ensure accurate tracking of the current reference. The current controller is designed in the αβ reference to ensure accurate regulation of both balanced and unbalanced grid currents needed to suppress the DC-link voltage oscillations. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed controller, experimental tests were conducted and showcased that the control scheme is able to achieve the desired control objectives with excellent results. © 2022 IEEE.

The integration of smart sector applications and services with fog computing paradigm, with heterogeneity of end user devices & fog nodes resulting in opening of new research dimensions for optimizing service broker policies, resource management and fog nodes efficiency. With the emergence of fog layer in new architecture, it has been expected that it will improve quality of service for delay sensitive application. Instead of transmitting enormous volumes of IoT data to the cloud, fog analyses the most response time-sensitive data nearby, at the network boundary depending on defined policy, takes action in milliseconds on IoT data and sends a set of data to the cloud for long-term archiving and study. In this paper a comprehensive review is conducted for QoS aware load balancing optimization techniques in generic and specific fog deployment scenarios like smart grid, electric vehicles, health monitoring etc, to uncover the major findings and future research areas in current 5G fog radio access network. The review is categories into different sections based on performance estimation QoS metrics, simulation assessment tools to evaluate the efficiency of various resource allocation and load balancing techniques used in fog computing. © 2023 IEEE.

With the rapid development of smart grid, the business data generated during production and management will exceed the load balancing capability of the grid, and the reliability of the network will also be affected. To address the issues in hybrid power communication networks, this paper proposes and implements a dynamic routing scheme to meet the requirements of different service data, which can be recorded in the IP header of packets. At the access side, the data packets then can be delivered over different paths by comparing their requirements with the performance that the current condition of networks can support. In this paper, the network performance is some type of statistical proof of historical packets. The test results show that the strategy can not only effectively achieve load balance between the 5G public network and the power private network itself, but also improve the end-to-end transmission performance. © 2021 IEEE.

The low-voltage distribution network is facing a situation of blowout, small capacity and decentralized distributed new energy access, with the emergence of large-scale power reverse transmission and frequent voltage fluctuations at station area level. However, power grid companies find it difficult to timely perceive real-time information of electricity generation and consumption within the station area, witch increasing the difficulty of operation control and management of the distribution network, and bringing adverse effects to safe, stable and economic power supply. Following the idea of edge computing, a real-time information acquisition and dispatching control method suitable for distribution station area with distributed new energy is proposed to realize the information interconnection and integration of local equipment at a lower cost, so that various adjustable resources can participate in the multi-level source network load interaction operation, and improve the comprehensive benefits of the distribution system in the station area. © 2023 IEEE.

Lip reading aims at recognizing what a speaker is saying in a silent video only based on visual information. With the development of deep learning, lip reading has attracted much attention. However, different people have different facial features, which leads to failure when the model is tested on unseen speakers. Most existing methods deal with this problem with fine-tuning or speaker adaptation methods which require the source domain data or the labels of the target domain. However, in real-world applications, due to privacy or storage issues and the difficulty in annotating the data, using these methods is not realistic. To cope with this problem, in this paper, we focus on test-time speaker adaptation for lip reading where the source data and the labels of target data are unavailable during adaptation. We propose a robust entropy minimization strategy to amplify the optimization of high-confident samples and reduce the influence of the low-confident samples. Furthermore, we propose an adaptive pseudo-label strategy to select more confident samples between the outputs from the source model and the augmented-averaged teacher model. Extensive experiments show that our method outperforms all the other baselines consistently, demonstrating its effectiveness and universality. © 2024 ACM.

Transformer is the key apparatus of the power system, and its operational reliability is directly related to the stability of the power grid. Accurately predicting the future health state of transformers can reserve enough time for formulating outage maintenance and power dispatching plans. The existing transformer health state prediction methods are based on the structure of 'predict-diagnose', which is the superposition of two local optimal methods, with error superposition. To fill this gap, a transformer health state prediction method based on multi-attention coupling learning is proposed in this paper. The 'situational quantity' integrating the transformer operation state change relationship, the correlation relationship between state quantities, the mapping relationship between the state quantity and the state, the fuzzy relationship between the evaluation result and the actual state, and the traditional expert experience is proposed. Then, the structural optimization attention (SOA) model applicable to 'situational quantity' is proposed, and various relationships are treated as individual attention. All kinds of attention are coupled and constrained in the SOA to realize the unification of the prediction process and diagnosis process, obtain the global optimization of prediction and diagnosis, and the problem of error superposition is solved. The actual fault case verification results show that the accuracy of the proposed SOA prediction model can reach 96.33%, which is significantly better than the traditional methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Solar energy could mitigate global warming and climate change. Solar energy faces economic, environmental, and technical challenges. Machine learning solves these technical issues. Despite several studies, machine learning in photovoltaics and solar energy is understudied. This study examines publishing patterns and bibliometrics to critically evaluate machine learning applications in photovoltaics and solar energy research. Scopus uses PRISMA. international publishing, citations, and collaboration are high. The Chinese Ministry of Education employs famous scholars like G. E. Georghiou and Haibo Ma. China is most active due to funding schemes like the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Key Research and Development Programme. This study examines publication patterns by country, institution, and funding organisation from 2014 to 2022, spanning topic categories and indicators. Examining author-keyword data to group publishing themes and identify influential journals. Increasing understanding of machine learning applications in photovoltaics and solar energy research. This project will examine the potential for significant development and the hurdles that must be overcome to leverage Cognitive computing's benefits in cancer and tumour research. In response to the rising amount of malware, phishing, and intrusion attacks on global energy and grid infrastructure, photovoltaic and solar energy system cybersecurity may be studied. © 2024 IEEE.

In an effort to offer compute services to a wide range of individuals, cloud computing is a paradigm that involves integrating high-end technology infrastructure into the backend. Although cloud computing was first intended to be a commercial process, it now significantly affects many different fields, including scientific, technical, academic, and social ones. The rapid growth in population of our country demands a need for a customized solution for e-agriculture. India has a wide variety of crops and soil. Therefore a cloud based e-agriculture system would be beneficial for country's growth. Cloud computing provides applications like AgroCloud storage of data such as soil, fertilizers, pesticides can be stored. For easy communication with the farmers, a cloud -based English to native language translation application should be deployed. The proposed paper is helpful for enhancing agricultural productivity and managing agro-product expenses. Cloud computing has had a positive effect on the agricultural field and the services it offers to its customers. © 2022 IEEE.

Research on the creative use of kinetic energy in transport infrastructures has been directed by the constant search for sustainable energy solutions. Of them, railway tracks provide a particularly attractive pathway for energy collecting because of their vast network and the significant stresses applied during train movements. The latest technologies created for energy harvesting from railway tracks are explained in this article along with the workings, concepts, and efficiency of the different systems. The ability to transform mechanical stress and vibrations into electrical energy is closely examined in hybrid systems, electromagnetic devices, and piezoelectric transducers. A thorough analysis of the literature highlights both the technical developments and the difficulties, including those related to energy storage, affordability, and durability. In addition, this research investigates the uses of captured energy, which may improve the sustainability of railway systems by powering trackside sensors or adding to the grid. The appropriateness and efficacy of various harvesting systems under various operating circumstances may be inferred from a comparative study of their performance indicators. In order to fully use this renewable energy source, the report concludes by outlining future research areas and highlighting the integration of energy collecting technology with smart railway infrastructure. © 2024 IEEE.
