Mobile Edge computing (MEC) is regarded as a promising technology that migrates cloud computing platforms with computing and storage capabilities to the edge of the wireless access network, enabling rich applications and services in close proximity to the mobile users (MUs). There are a lot of literatures that have studied computation offloading. Different from them, this paper performs a novel research on multi-level computation offloading taking account into the heterogeneity of computation tasks and computation resource backup pool, and introducing opportunistic networks in multi-access networks simultaneously. Firstly, we describe the computation offloading model. Then, we formulate the multi-level computation offloading problem as a Stackelberg game and demonstrate the existence of the game Nash equilibrium. In order to solve above problem, we design a global optimal algorithm based on game theory. Finally, the performance of the proposed algorithm is verified by comparing with other algorithms. Simulation results corroborate that the algorithm can not only decrease the energy consumption, but also is stable. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2020.

Soft-device is a promising infrastructure of next-generation distributed system. Soft-devices are configurable and adaptive software virtual mechanism, providing services to each other and to other virtual roles according to the content of the resources and related configuration information. In order to aggregate and reuse the existing soft-devices for more complex applications, this paper proposes a dynamic inheritance mechanism of soft-devices. By taking into account the novel characteristics of soft-devices, this approach provides flexible and effective inheritance modes, which overcomes the limitation of traditional local inheritance. Wireless power transfer (WPT) has gotten a lot of attention in the present times and is going to become our potential future. From small power application scenarios such as charging a mobile phone to high power scenarios like charging an electric vehicle (EV), WPT is investigated as an option. The growing market share of electric vehicles raises questions whether it is possible to integrate wireless charging technology developed for low power applications into this high-power application. Furthermore, it should be investigated if the integration of regenerative braking into the overall system is possible. Several converters have been proposed to enable regenerative braking (RB). However, there is a lack of studies examining the interaction of both technologies on the system level. This paper proposes the integration of an inductive wireless power transfer (IWPT) system and a regenerative braking system into an EV. The merits of the proposed system are represented in scenarios where a considerable amount of power is lost due to frequent acceleration and deceleration. This paper describes the study of the system level integration of a regenerative braking system and a WPT system into an EV. It presents the design, development, and simulation of the complete system along with the brushless direct current (BLDC) traction motor. It shows the simulation model of the Inductive wireless power transfer system (two stage) to EV and acceleration/deceleration phenomenon of BLDC motor. The speed and torque parameters of BLDC motor are the externally controlling variables of EV, having battery-supercapacitor (battery-SC) as storage devices during this transition period. Regenerative braking in BLDC motor can be observed when EV is under sudden deceleration motions consuming/producing excessive current where SC picks up the transients in place of the battery. © 2022 IEEE

grid enablement of existing applications has been a prime area of research in recent times and numerous solutions have been proposed in this regard. grid enablement of an application involves conversion of a single (monolithic) application into a set of well coupled grid jobs and services, which can be deployed in a grid. Determining the optimum partitioning of an application is the cornerstone for efficient grid enablement. In this paper, we present the the process of abstracting applications as application structure graphs (ASG) and also provide an in depth analysis of different application level dependencies that affect grid enablement. We also present an extensive study of the steps involved in grid enablement of a Java application, with special attention to application profiling.

Based on the original framework of the Smart5gridEU-funded project, the present paper examines some fundamental features of the related platform that can be able to affect 5G implementation as well as the intended NetApps. Thus we examine: (i) the specific context of smart energy grids, enhanced by the inclusion of ICT and also supported by 5G connectivity;(ii) the cloud native context, together with the example of the cloud native VNF modelling, and;(iii) the MEC context as a 5G enabler for integrating management, control and orchestration processes. Each one is assessed compared to the state of the design and the implementation of the Smart5grid platform. As a step further, we propose a preliminary framework for the definition of the NetApps, following to the way how the previous essential features are specifically incorporated within the project processes.

The current grid technology can be viewed as an extension or application of this framework to create a more generic resource sharing context. grid technology is widely emerging. Still, there is an eminent shortage of real grid users, due to the absence of two important catalysts. A widely accepted vision on how applications can substantially benefit from grids, and second a toolkit of higher-level grid services, tailored to application needs. The grid aims to provide fundamentally new capabilities for applications to exploit the power of grid computing. We present a architecture of grid, middleware and its application technology, a large-scale, grid-empowered applications and then discuss grid general architecture and its grid application. We illustrate how applications can be gridenabled and discuss grid as an tool for computing services.

Machine learning (ML) has been widely used in various scenes, such as face recognition, automatic driving and image recognition and other fields. However, in these applications, attackers usually exploit various vulnerabilities in machine learning models to mine private information, including model training information and private data information. The attacks against machine learning training data mainly include membership inference attack (MIA). The attacker of membership inference attack will judge whether the data sample is in the training data set of the target model given the data sample and the target model. Most of the existing member inference attacks are based on confidence attacks. Researchers found that if the confidence returned is hidden, they can effectively defend against these attacks. Therefore, the latest research proposed label-only attack, but this attack requires hundreds of queries for a sample, and abnormal query accesses are easy to be found by the target model. In this paper, we propose a member inference attack based on the transferability of adversarial samples. The adversarial samples generated under different models of the same task have certain mobility characteristics, so as to use the shadow model to generate adversarial samples for attack and reduce the attack cost. The evaluation shows that under the restriction of fewer queries, only the label output will still reveal private information, and the performance of the member inference attack based on the transferability of adversarial samples is better than that based on confidence in most cases. © 2022 SPIE.

Nowadays, grids are very heavyweight and complex. They need huge administrative capacities, just to keep the grid infrastructure running. If only a small job should be submitted, this administrative overhead is not justified. The initial metaphor for the computational grid being as easy as a power grid is still unfulfilled. To facilitate a public usage of grids, we simplify grid computing using peer-to-peer computing and instant messaging. Instant messaging is used by the vast majority of computer users. We assume that using instant messaging techniques for the administrative part of setting up the grid will open grid capabilities to the public and thereby enable a desktop grid. We call the here applied paradigm friend-to-friend computing (F2F computing). F2F computing offers the opportunity to spontaneously setup desktop grids with friends or colleagues via instant messaging. There is no server installation or maintenance needed. We describe the F2F computing framework, its implementation, future steps, and present the first results of running applications on top of it.
