Smart grid system faces various novel attacks that are caused by increasing connection to other networks. Adversaries can easily fabricate and modify packets between devices and the SCADA workstation. Thus, it is essential to monitor the behavior features of the devices. However, the conventional device behavioral fingerprint methods, such as Rule-Based, Statistical-Based, and Knowledge-Based, overly rely on feature selection, which limits its application range. This paper proposes a novel device behavioral fingerprinting method that automatically extracts high dimension features from data packets using a deep neural network. The fingerprint is a vector composed of certain contextual and content features. The content features are extracted from the grayscale images that are reshaped from the packet payload. Besides, the contextual features are extracted from the packet header sequence matrix that consists of several packets header in a sliding window w. Finally, an unencrypted public dataset collected from the Electric Power and Intelligent Control(EPIC) testbed is used to verify the classification performance. Our experimental results indicate that the optimal sliding window size and the image size are 15 and 10. Besides, compared with the method using only one kind of feature (contextual or content feature), the proposed method can identify devices more efficiently and effectively, and it can be a unique identifier to describe the network behavior of devices in the smart grid. © 2021 IEEE.

All over the planet, there is a great demand for and need for electrical energy utilization. The market for non-conventional energy sources is increasingly growing and demand shoots up. Renewable energy resources play an important role among which Photo Voltaic (PV) cell electrical energy is the most reliable and effective one for power generation. The analysis of various converter circuits leads to show that, an interleaved fly-back converter topology in isolated grid associated inverter for high power photovoltaic applications is best even under partial shading conditions. A special mechanism known as an interleaving concept is used in this paper and it is an essential phenomenon in order to achieve high power as well as minimize the ripple components in current waveform. By the implementation of the proposed method, we acheived reliable percentage efficiency is 98.08 and the power factor for the system is 0.925. © 2022 IEEE.

In general, parallel applications require lots of computer power and grid computing. Efficient Resource Discovery (RD) algorithms determine grid resource allocation and execution time. To improve the resource distribution and reduce grid node communication costs, this study introduces hierarchical, weighted RD (WRD). A behavioral modeling technique checks the algorithm’s accuracy and efficacy. For complete analysis and simulation, StarUML implements a WRD algorithm behavioral model. The NuSMV model checker evaluates reachability and deadlock-free RD. The WRD algorithm is assessed using key performance metrics. To evaluate resource-finding efficiency, each request’s inspected nodes are counted. The number of re-discovery operations shows the algorithm’s resource flexibility. Algorithms that find free resources with high bandwidth links are also evaluated to optimize grid resource allocation. Resource information tables could improve resource location. Resource information is stored in a table to help the algorithm allocate resources. This research seeks to develop grid computing by solving RD problems. The hierarchical architecture and weighted resource selection of the WRD algorithm improve resource inspection, flexibility, and high-bandwidth RD. Behavioral modeling and verification show the algorithm’s accuracy and grid suitability. WRD and resource information tables boost grid computing RD efficiency and efficacy. This research optimizes grid performance and resource allocation.

Smartphones have made resource-intensive mobile applications indispensable in everyday life. To meet predetermined requirements and lighten the weight of such challenges brought on by the swift expansion of such serving technologies, distributed mobile edge computing (MEC) was developed to bring compute environments closer to end-users, frequently in a single step. To bridge the gap between the two, offloading techniques have been developed in the literature to shift resource-intensive tasks from mobile devices to nearby servers. There are many new concerns in the MEC context that make compute offloading problems more complex than ever before. These include the inherent software and hardware heterogeneity, constraints, ecosystem dynamics, and stochastic behaviour. The research also took into account a number of indicators relevant to computation offloading strategies in MEC. In this research, we provide a review of computation offloading strategies in the MEC setting in order to identify existing methods on this important topic and to raise unresolved challenges. The survey concludes with a case study illustrating MEC's applicability in the medical field. © 2022 IEEE.

Directed Acyclic Graph (DAG)-based blockchain (a.k.a distributed ledger) has become prevalent for supporting highly concurrent applications. Its inherent parallel data structure accelerates block generation significantly, shifting the bottleneck from performance to storage scalability. An intuitive solution is to apply state sharding that divides the entire ledger (i.e., transactions and states) into multiple shards. While each node only stores proportional transactions, it suffers from the challenges of storing and ensuring the processing consistency of cross-shard transactions. In this paper, we propose SharDAG, a new mechanism that leverages adaptive sharding for DAG-based blockchains to achieve high performance and strong consistency. The key idea of SharDAG is to exploit unique characteristics -silent assets -and design a lightweight processing mechanism based on avatar account caching. Furthermore, we design a Byzantine resilient cross-shard verification mechanism with a theoretically optimal number of participating nodes, which guarantees the consistency and security of avatar account aggregation. Our comprehensive evaluations on real-world workloads demonstrate that SharDAG presents up to 3.8 x throughput improvement compared to the state-of-the-art and reduces the storage overhead of cross-shard transactions. © 2024 IEEE.

With the increased threat of global warming and other such environmental issues created on the ecosystem due to the utilization of conventional energy sources, migration to renewable energy sources (RES) has become a necessity. The integration of RES to the utility grid is done using DC-DC converters. Multiport DC-DC converters enable the synchronization of multiple RES to the grid, whereby improving the reliability and redundancy of the entire system. This paper introduces a Two-Input Single Output (TISO) step-up DC-DC converter topology to connect a renewable energy system and a DC source feeding a common load. The TISO circuit, designed for 100W/100V load at a switching frequency 15kHz, is simulated using MATLAB/Simulink, and the results are presented.

In recent years, due to the proliferation of information and communication technology, as well as AI technology, industrial control systems, which were once in a closed network environment, have also integrated related technologies and gradually connected to external networks. Although this can enhance the efficiency of industrial production, it greatly increases the information security threats to industrial control systems. Among them, the information security issues of critical infrastructures are a key issue. If these critical infrastructures are attacked by cyber hackers, it could pose threats that jeopardize the safety of the general population. In light of this, this study focuses on the critical infrastructure of the power grid, proposing a semi-supervised intrusion detection system (IDS) technology by using the one-class classification. It analyzes data from the electricity distribution system to assess whether the system has been attacked. This research employs a power grid dataset to train the proposed model and execute the experiments. The difficulty of sentiment analysis, often known as opinion mining, in natural language processing (NLP) is one that is currently being faced. It's also challenging for people to share their ideas on websites like Facebook, Twitter, and Yelp since innovation has grown dramatically. Social media's widespread use has resulted in a huge volume of data generation, including evaluations, comments, and opinions. Researchers claim that the phrase, document, aspect, and user levels are the foundations for sentiment analysis. This data requires more time to analyse and is challenging to process. Construction of calculation reliability system for intelligent power transmission operation and the maintenance strategy is studied in the paper. During the operation and maintenance of high-voltage transmission lines, the operation and maintenance personnel are required to collect accurate original data and take this as the basis to then strengthen the operation and maintenance of transmission lines. For operation and maintenance personnel, the specific location of transmission line fault can be better determined by strengthening information management and comprehensively analyzing various basic data. The components of the large-capacity power electronic systems such as general switching semiconductor devices, transformers, and passive devices need to be installed with relevant sensors and monitoring equipment to ensure the reliability of system operation. Hence, this paper gives the novel solutions to the traditional challenges. Through the systematic testing, the core performance is then validated. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to solve the problems of low packet processing rate and poor protection effect of the traditional power monitoring network security protection system, a power monitoring network security protection system based on the Commercial Cryptography is proposed in this study. According to the basic functional requirements of the system, the hardware part of the system is designed. In the software backup of the system, the identity authentication module and data encryption module are designed by using the commercial encryption algorithm, which ensures the security of data transmission within the network. In the system test, the packet processing rate of the system is tested. The test results show that the designed system can handle more than 95% of the packets with different flow rates, and has a high packet processing rate and good protection effect. Therefore, it can be proved that the designed system can be applied to network security, which is of great significance to the development of network information security © 2022 IEEE.
