Nowadays, hundreds of millions of terminal devices are connected to network, generating huge volume of heterogeneous data that gradually overwhelm storage service and congest network traffic. Cloud computing offers services at the infrastructure level that can scale to IoT storage and processing requirements. Edge computing paradigm was proposed, where cloud services are extended to the edge of the network to decrease the latency and network congestion. With the increasement of data-intensive applications and computation-intensive applications, there is an urgent need to integrate the capabilities of computing power and communication resources by cloud computing and the instant transmission response characteristics of edge computing to fulfil the requirements from the increasing application requests, then there comes the concept of cloud-edge collaboration. To verify the availability of cloud-edge collaboration that enables the performance of resource management in such a collaborative manner. In this paper we propose a lightweight messaging and collaboration service by Microsoft Hosted Messaging and Collaboration Suites, to explore the resource management under the cloud-edge collaboration. The service runs as SaaS, and provides hosted instant messaging and collaboration for enterprise users. The experimental result indicates that the service of messaging and collaboration runs stably under the workload of over 10,000 enterprise users. © 2021 IEEE.

With the rapid development of power informatization, more and more power applications and tasks are deployed in the cloud. In view of the huge amount of users and data in the cloud computing environment of smart grid, how to design an efficient task scheduling algorithm is a key issue in this field. This paper proposes a task scheduling algorithm based on time and cost. The algorithm realizes the reasonable assignment of tasks through dynamic evaluation of virtual machine nodes. The evaluation factors include execution time, transmission delay and system cost. The first two factors are estimated by performing standard tasks, and the system cost is measured by transmission cost, request processing cost and virtual machine maintenance cost. When the evaluation factors are weighted, the subjective weight and the objective weight are combined to obtain the comprehensive weight, and the users in the power grid are classified at the same time. Users with high ranks give priority to processing efficiency and load balance, while users with low ranks give priority to system cost, thereby providing differentiated services to power users. The results show that, compared with traditional scheduling algorithms such as round robin, the proposed algorithm can effectively improve the load balance and reduce the system cost. © 2022 IEEE.

There is a need for an efficient methodology for modelling digital replicas for microgrid systems that can be used for multiple applications and ensure the reliable operation of the microgrid. In this paper, we present a whole system model-based design of peer-to-peer energy trading (P2P-ET) among prosumers in a grid-connected community microgrid. The model consists of a power system component with distributed resources;an energy storage system (ESS) with heuristic and optimised control policy;and two P2P market paradigms: bill sharing and mid-market rate, which estimates the financial benefit to the community. Simulated transaction facilitated through a case study of P2P-E T between prosumers illustrates the impact of transaction on grid voltage, ESS and individual household bills. Results show that the energy bought from grid by the community is reduced by 15.36% when optimised ESS policy is used over the heuristic policy. Also, the P2P-ET reduces individual household bill in the community by at least 11.3%. © 2022 IEEE.

A grid tied solar Electric Vehicle (EV) charging station, which aims at expanding the application of EVs in rural areas along with reduction of the over dependence on grid in case of cities, is the focus of this research work. Among various renewable sources of energy, the Photovoltaic (PV) system is the most viable solution for EV charging applications owing to its wide availability and ease of installation. Moreover, the ceaseless supply of power regardless of the innate intermittency of the PV system is achieved with the addition of a capacitor bank that serves the purpose of energy storage. The control methodology implemented for stabilizing and enhancing the output from the PV system includes a DC-DC quasi-Z source boost (QZSB) converter along with a cascaded ANN controller. The QZSB converter offers the benefits of increased voltage gain and reduced switching loss, whereas the cascaded ANN controller possesses the advantage of quick and accurate error compensation. In case of absence of power supply from both the PV and capacitor bank, the required power for EV charging is derived from the grid. The control of the single-phase Voltage Source Inverter (1φ VSI) connected to the grid is accomplished using an Adaptive Proportional Integral (PI) controller. The proposed grid tied solar EV charging station is implemented in MATLAB for verifying its performance. © 2022 IEEE.

In order to reveal the spread law of fire smoke in underground cable trench, the simulation study on the spread characteristics of fire smoke in underground cable trench is carried out. Analyze the temperature changes of each wall and cable surface of the cable trench, and the influence of different cable laying depths, cable spacing and arrangement on the fire spread of the underground cable trench. The results show that under the action of buoyancy, the smoke formed by cable combustion spreads towards the ceiling and diffuses horizontally with the increasing fire. The temperature above the fire source is affected by the fire, and the temperature is the highest. The farther away from the fire source, the lower the temperature, and the heating speed of the lower wall is faster than that of the sidewall. When the depth of the underground cable trench is 1.2m, the cables are laid in parallel and the cable spacing is 0.2m, it has little impact on the fire spread situation of underground cable trench. © 2022 SPIE.

The increase in complexity, diversity and scale of high performance computing environments, as well as the increasing sophistication of parallel applications and algorithms call for productivity-aware programming languages for high-performance computing. Among them, the Chapel programming language stands out as one of the more successful approaches based on the Partitioned Global Address Space programming model. Although Chapel is designed for productive parallel computing at scale, the question of its competitiveness with well-established conventional parallel programming environments arises. To this end, this work compares the performance of Chapel-based fractal generation on shared- and distributed-memory platforms with corresponding OpenMP and MPI+X implementations. The parallel computation of the Mandelbrot set is chosen as a test-case for its high degree of parallelism and its irregular workload. Experiments are performed on a cluster composed of 192 cores using the French national testbed grid'5000. Chapel as well as its default tasking layer demonstrate high performance in shared-memory context, while Chapel competes with hybrid MPI+OpenMP in distributed-memory environment.

The design and experimental validation of a robust feedback controller for three-phase grid-tied inverters using LCL filter are presented in this paper. The proposed controller is developed in the natural reference frame to deal with normal and abnormal grid voltage conditions. The objective of the proposed controller is to achieve the goals of stabilization, accurate tracking of sinusoidal references, and asymptotic disturbance rejection. These goals are fulfilled by considering an existing dynamic/stabilizing compensator, which was proposed for a class of perturbed linear systems with sinusoidal disturbances. This compensator guarantees accurate sinusoidal reference tracking under fixed-frequency sinusoidal disturbances. However, during the saturation of control input, the transient response can be deteriorated due to the resonant build-up and can even destroy the closed-loop stability. To overcome this issue, the dynamic compensator is modified, in this paper, to incorporate an anti-windup scheme, where the gain is determined using absolute stability tools including the circle criterion. The proposed controller demonstrated a strong ability to ensure exact tracking of the sinusoidal current reference and reject sinusoidal disturbances with a good transient response even when the momentarily controller saturates. © 2022 IEEE.

The security software platform based on the support body has increasingly complex application functions and also faces massive data transmission, which puts higher requirements on the performance of the system. At present, most secure computing platforms are based on distributed and redundant communication architectures, and lack appropriate failure management mechanisms to effectively utilize the fault tolerance of redundant communication architectures. In response to the problems faced by existing support managed secure computing platforms, this article conducted a study on the fast management mechanism of redundant communication architecture in support managed secure computing platforms. It discussed the implementation of different acceleration algorithms for system communication computing based on cloud edge collaboration, and experiments showed that the accuracy of system communication LSH (Locality Sensitive Hashing) technology acceleration was higher than other algorithms. The accuracy of cloud computing platforms based on LSH technology was 0.92. At the same time, cloud edge collaboration can improve the resource utilization of system communication.

Community microgrid is a kind of new power system that acts as an intermediary between community consumers and the grid, playing an important role in realising distributed autonomy and improving the power supply level. To achieve optimal power dispatch in community microgrid, this paper establishes a Stackelberg game model with the community microgrid operator (CMO) as the leader and the consumers aggregator as the follower, and combines the internal pricing method with the demand response mechanism. The paper uses a combination of genetic algorithm and solver to solve the Stackelberg game model to maximise the interests of all parties. Simulation results show that the model can secure the interests of each game subject, balance power supply and demand, and promote peak shaving and valley filling of electrical loads. © 2023 IEEE.
