Mobile operators are slowly migrating towards all ip based packet data service of LTE to grab new business opportunity for the demand of end users. As per recent market survey, there would be 80% surge in the demand for data services by 2016 (6.6 million terabytes per month) especially for video on demand, live streaming apps, online gaming, webcast, file sharing ... etc. In this scenario, the existing resources may not be sufficient to serve the expected demand. One potential solution could be to fulfill the demand using eMBMS over LTE cell transmission. There is an opportunity for effective utilization of available bandwidth to deliver the required content with an optimal way using eMBMS. To provide these services, carriers are leveraging bi-directional networks using ip based packet technology like LTE. At present there are no commercial systems which can cater these services. The main objective of the proposed architecture is to address the future needs with few key optimizations. The proposed novel literature has multiple objectives. 1) Workable new architecture model to support eMBMS service in MBSFN area using multi-cell transmission 2) Achieve better performance when compared with the existing model using optimized MCE scheduling algorithm 3) Improve Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) using multi-cell transmission, as cells are timely & tightly synchronized and can provide better quality of services to the users. 4) Users will have a choice to choose the desired content from User Equipment (UE) either through mobile apps or push messaging technology.

The 3GPP ipmultimediasubsystem (IMS) has been specified as the service delivery platform of 3G networks. It subsequently became the de facto service delivery platform of 4G networks. Cloud computing is an emerging paradigm with inherent benefits such as scalability, elasticity and easy deployment of new applications and services. Scalability and elasticity are currently among the major roadblocks to the wide scale deployment of IMS. Cloudifying IMS can help in removing these roadblocks. It will also certainly bring many other advantages. However, this cloudification is no easy task and is still in its infancy. This paper motivates the cloudification of IMS, critically reviews the architectures proposed so far, sketches a vision and discusses the related research challenges.

The next-generation heterogeneous networks aim to offer users of various networks seamless high quality ip-based multimedia services access anywhere at any time. IMS (ipmultimediasubsystem) comes as a promising overlay service that provides a platform through which telecommunications operators can merge various networks to provide seamless data services. In this paper, we propose an architecture framework for interworking of the Worldwide Interoperability for Long Term Evolution (LTE), Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX) and Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) technologies. The aim is the evolution of a seamless service provisioning heterogeneous networks. Thus, the proposed architecture extends IMS beyond 3G (UMTS) to 4G (LTE). The proposed LTE-WiMAX-WLAN tight coupled interworking is compared with the UMTS-WiMAX-WLAN tight coupled interworking. The two heterogeneous networks are simulated using OPNET Modeler 17.1. The performance metrices show that the proposed architecture outperforms the pervious architecture.

This article represents an interworking architecture model built by OPNET Modeler for intersystem handover between Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX), 3GPP IMS-Universal Mobile Telecommunications System (UMTS) and Mobile ip-General Packet Radio Service (GPRS). The interworking model implements ipmultimediasubsystem (IMS) as a common platform at the application layer for session continuity and Mobile ip at the network layer for maintaining Internet Protocol (ip) mobility. A mobile device with three interfaces and having intelligence of initiating intersystem handover was designed which is capable of maintaining radio links simultaneously with the three access technologies mentioned above. The paper ends with some suggestions of further possible enhancements of the interworking architecture by OPNET Modeller.

As one of the most popular topics in the Next Generation Network (NGN), Named Data Networking (NDN), a newly proposed network architecture centered on content data, targets on altering the existing communication protocol between Internet hosts. NDN uses data names rather than ip addresses for data transmission and re-designs the packet formats and the protocols between layers in order to substitute the conventional iparchitecture. Quality of Service (QoS) in conventional ip network aims at bandwidth optimization in limited bandwidth network environments and bandwidth guarantees for specific applications, or user satisfaction of specific needs. To break away from traditional QoS, the next service-stack network attempts to reduce the total throughput and avoid data retransmissions over the network. Traditional QoS solutions are effective in ip networks but do not fit the needs of the NDN. Therefore, this paper defines the QoS parameters and measurements and also their impact on the NDN network performance.

Securing service and signalization is an important aspect in the IMS network (ipmultimediasubsystem). The signaling is based mainly on Sip protocol (Session Initialization Protocol). This protocol presents several challenges in terms of security which induce security problems in IMS network. The paper presents an analysis of Sip protocol and identifies the critical security weaknesses during registration phase. Indeed, during this phase, sensitive information is clearly exchanged by Sip entities which presents big risk because this information can be used in Sip security attack. So, the paper proposes an approach to improve Sip security by securing client registration in the Sip server.

In past few years, the concept of mobile servers has emerged dramatically. That means the mobile nodes have now gained such extraordinary processing powers and storage capacities that they can actively play a role of service delivery platforms in the service oriented paradigms. Recently, a concept of Mobile Application Servers (Mob-ASs) has been introduced by the research community in order to promote M2M (Mobile-to-Mobile) service networks over the telecom operator networks. Such joint-venture of IT and Telco systems will bring a plethora of new M2M applications in the market. This paper presents the design and evaluation of an M2M chat service framework for an existing Mobile Server Platform (MSP). The existing MSP has the capacity to register itself as a Mobile Application Server (Mob-AS) and a Mobile Application Client (Mob-AC) in the operator's IMS (ipmultimediasubsystem) network. Featuring the MSP with the chat service framework will facilitate the mobile users to exchange short and long text messages and multimedia files over the operator network without using any third-party services.

Existing remedial instruction focuses on teacher-oriented or self-learning approaches. However, we think that the tutor-based approach with the support of educational repositories can provide students with an opportunity to correct their misconceptions. In this paper, the architecture is proposed to help users find suitable educational apps in repositories for the purpose of Math tutoring. The proposed recommender subsystem is combined with a social tagging mining approach. Evaluation results indicate that despite the need for further improvement, the tutoring method with the educational repositories is promising for remedial instruction.
