This study introduces a dynamic event-handling system designed for hand gesture recognition in mobile augmented reality (AR) viewers. By repurposing low-cost virtual reality (VR) boxes in conjunction with mobile phones, the researchers aimed to facilitate hands-free interaction in AR environments. The system was developed using the Unity 3D game engine and integrated with ManoMotion for real-time gesture recognition, enabling the detection of ten distinct gestures, including Click, Drop, Pick, Grab, Swipe, and Release. Each gesture was mapped to dynamic events that allowed users to engage with virtual objects through natural hand movements, significantly enhancing the AR experience without reliance on physical controllers. The research confirms the viability of an affordable AR system that leverages intuitive hand-based controls while identifying limitations such as reduced gesture accuracy in low-light conditions and ergonomic challenges. The system achieved an impressive hand recognition accuracy of 95.13%. This study contributes to the accessibility of AR technology and lays the groundwork for future enhancements in gesture recognition and user interaction within mobile AR systems. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). The objective of this research is to enhance sound field rendering efficiency using a heterogeneous computing framework. By integrating GPU and CPU resources, we address performance challenges in complex environments and large-scale ray tasks. Evaluations of the NVIDIA RTX A6000 GPU and AMD 9754 CPU led to an ray task allocation mechanism, optimizing resource use and maximizing computational efficiency. Experimental results show that this strategy significantly accelerates sound field rendering, achieving nearly 400 times faster performance than traditional single-core CPU computations. © 2025 SPIE.

Spectrally-constrained sequences (SCSs) are primarily used in emerging systems operating over non-contiguous spectrum such as cognitive radio and cognitive radar. In order to obtain more SCSs, firstly, a novel type of SCS called periodic zero-correlation zone spectrally-constrained sequence(PZCZ-SCS) is proposed in this paper. Then, based on time-frequency synthesis analysis, the conditions that the PZCZ-SCSs must satisfy in terms of "spectral constraint" are derived. Specifically, it is a divisible difference set with parametersλ1 = k and λ1 > λ2. Finally, the construction of PZCZ-SCSs is presented by using the Chinese remainder theorem. Through this research, a new class of SCS is provided for cognitive radio. © 2025 SPIE.

Over the past few years, there has been a swift advancement in deep learning, which has seen widespread adoption across various domains. Cryptographic device side-channel information analysis, a technique used in side-channel attacks, significantly imperils key security. In this paper, the research status and main methods of side-channel attack are investigated and analyzed. At the same time, the current application status of artificial intelligence technology in side-channel attack is explored. We compare and analyze the specific performance of CNNbest, MLP and Transformer in side-channel attack. The evaluation criteria used include the average ranking of the correct key, model accuracy under the same training time, and the time required to achieve the same accuracy. The influence of different epochs on the attack schemes based on different models is also explored. Through experiments, we prove that among the three models, CNNbest has higher efficiency and accuracy in the attack. Finally, we implement the system based on artificial intelligence technology through coding. In the system, we provide the above three models to choose from to realize the AI enablement of the side-channel attack technology. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

To enhance the efficiency and scalability of virtual teaching experiment systems, a big data virtual teaching experiment system was built using container technology. The system architecture was designed using a container cloud platform that combines Kubernetes and Docker, and big data processing frameworks were utilized to achieve automated scheduling of teaching tasks and resource optimization. Analysis shows that container technology not only improves resource utilization, system response speed, and concurrency processing capabilities, but also enhances the stability and scalability of teaching experiments. This system provides an efficient and flexible experimental platform for modern education, meeting the needs of large-scale data processing and personalized teaching. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Traditional deep convolutional neural networks are used for facial expression recognition, which makes the number of neurons and parameters huge, wastes computing resources, and even causes problems such as overfitting and network degradation. Meanwhile, single-scale expression features cannot describe rich facial expression information and are not evenly distributed on face images. We proposed an improved Xception method based on the original Xception network, it retains the depth-separable convolution and residual structure, adds multi-scale convolution and local dense connection. Our proposed method achieved an accuracy rate of 89.54% on the FER2013 dataset, strengthened feature reuse, and enhanced generalization ability. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

This study highlights the utility of blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT) and FinTech in cold chain/post-harvest supply chain. Blockchain technology will enable the stakeholders in a post-harvest supply chain to track and trace the level of inventory, smart contracts, prices, associated costs, and scale of transactions at any stage in the supply chain. The IoT infrastructure linked with cloud computing will assist the blockchain ecosystem with time–temperature regulation, traceability, and decision-making. The practice of blockchain at decentralized levels linked with the global market will develop marketplaces and exports with enhanced information visibility, reduced spoilage ratio, and boost business prospects and the economy. Currently, Diabetes is a prevalent issue worldwide, affecting millions of people. The detection machinery for this disease is only available at healthcare centers, so individuals with diabetes are only aware of their condition when they visit and undergo a checkup. Prolonged diabetes can lead to various complications like heart disorders, kidney disease, nerve damage, and diabetic retinopathy. However, the risk can be reduced if the disease at its early stage is predicted. By utilizing a deep learning approach, this model can easily determine if an individual is diabetic or not. The aim of the research is to develop machine learning model that can identify diabetic people on the basis of their clinical data. The machine learning algorithms utilized in this study include Naive Bayes (NB), k-nearest neighbor (KNN), Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD), Decision tree (DT), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), and Logistic Regression (LR). We have implemented efficient pre-processing techniques to detect as well as handle missing/ NAN and duplicate values and later trained our models with the cleaned dataset. During execution, we found that Random Forest as well as Decision Tree performed well for both diabetic and non-diabetic class by computing 100% and 99% accuracy respectively. © 2025 The Author(s).

Dyslexia is a learning disability that is widespread and marked with a persistent problem with word identification and spelling. It has an impact on a person’s capacity to decipher letters and words accurately and fluently. Dyslexia has emerged as one of the most widespread learning disabilities, though the medical experts have not yet come out explaining its core causes. In this research, the prediction and classification of dyslexia is effectively carried out with the help of brain images which acts as input to machine learning techniques towards the prediction of dyslexia. The proposed dyslexic prediction model uses a Combination digital twin Kernel-based Support Vector Machine (KSVM) optimized by Whales algorithm. The combination kernel SVM shows better accuracy and less computational time compared to single kernel of SVM in a distributed environment. The proposed combinational kernel is less complex than deep learning models. © 2025 The Author(s).

Midcurve computation: the dimension reduction of 2D thin polygon shapes to 1D curves is important for several Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) applications, particularly in finite element analysis and robot path planning. We advance the state-of-the-art by building on previous work on MidcurveNN, through two new neural architectures: a multi-layer dense network and a CNN-based architecture with skip connections. Through comparative analysis, we demonstrate that while the dense network shows limited improvements, the CNN-based architecture with skip connections achieves a tenfold reduction in average loss compared to existing methods. The proposed approach improves the quality of the generated Midcurves. © 2025 IEEE.
