Plagiarism is one of the most common problem that has been increasing in the field of higher education. Many research papers have highlighted the issue of plagiarism in context to its detection and source that is often obtained from the text books and online sources, there is a variety of easy ways for students to copy others' work. coding style can be used to detect source code plagiarism because it relates to programmer personality but does not affect the logic of a program, thus offering a way to differentiate between different code authors. The immediate objective of this paper is to identify whether a data set consisting of student programming assignments is rich enough to apply coding style metrics on in order to detect similarities between code sequences, and we use the BlackBox data set as a case study.

The Code Genie programming environment was built by the researcher and the author of this paper as part of a Ph.D. study to encourage high school student for coding in JavaScript language. This environment was tested and used in three coding workshops. The participated students had several suggestions in their feedback comments. One of the common suggestions was adding a tutorial section to the environment. Gamification elements and the suggested tutorial section were added to the Code Genie web Integrated Development Environment (IDE). This update is introduced and discussed in this paper.

In this study, we improved the visualization method for attack patterns in team sports that was proposed in our previous work to visualize not only patterns of offense, but also patterns of defense. In the improved method, dictionary learning for nonnegative sparse coding is performed to obtain a dictionary of base player densities, which can be considered as components of player formations for both teams. Next, nonnegative sparse coding is utilized to evaluate coefficient vectors as features in corresponding scenes. Finally, co-occurrence analysis based on mutual self-information is utilized to construct a co-occurrence network for shooting and formation components for both teams. For validation, the improved method was applied to player position data from five matches from the 2011 J. League.

As mobile devices become more powerful and common there will a greater capacity and need for more complex interactions between mobile device-resident software and other server-based software. This can be termed mobile application integration. Mobile computing introduces new opportunities and challenges for application integration. Some of the challenges include small device size, limited bandwidth, limited processing power and lack of integration protocol support. Ad-hoc networks are those that can be formed temporarily while particular devices are in the vicinity of each other and ad-hoc mobile application integration refers to the temporary integration of software modules across devices while such a network exists. This case poses even greater challenges for integration such as dynamically changing combinations of platforms to be integrated across and a requirement for integration to occur dynamically. This paper proposes a novel Web Services-based system that allows such dynamic and temporary integration to occur in ad-hoc mobile networks.

By using this strategy error correction is possible through some decoding algorithms such as Viterbi decoder. The automatic assessment of (student) music performance involves the characterization of the audio recordings and the modeling of human judgments. To build a computational model that provides a reliable assessment, the system must take into account various aspects of a performance including technical correctness and aesthetic standards. While some progress has been made in recent years, the search for an effective feature representation remains open-ended. In this study, we explore the possibility of using learned features from sparse coding. Specifically, we investigate three sets of features, namely a baseline set, a set of designed features, and a feature set learned with sparse coding. In addition, we compare the impact of two different input representations on the effectiveness of the learned features. The evaluation is performed on a dataset of annotated recordings of students playing snare exercises. The results imply the general viability of feature learning in the context of automatic assessment of music performances.
