Network coding is a new technique that allows the nodes in the network to code the incoming data and transmit. Significant gains such as throughput improvement, robustness, complexity and security can be obtained by using network coding. Dynamic source routing is a reactive protocol for multi hop mobile Ad hoc networks. This paper proposes a better DSR technique using Network coding to reduce the number of transmissions in mobile ad hoc network and increasing throughput efficiency. The simulation results when compared with existing DSR protocol shows potential throughput improvement and communicates more information with fewer packet transmissions. (C) 2015 The Authrs. Erasure code based object storage systems are becoming popular choices for archive storage systems due to cost-effective storage space saving schemes and higher fault-resilience capabilities. Both erasure code encoding and decoding procedures involve heavy array, matrix, and table-lookup compute intensive operations. With today's advanced CPU design technologies such as multi-core, many-core, and streaming SIMD instruction sets we can effectively and efficiently adapt the erasure code technology in cloud storage systems and apply it to handle very large-scale date sets. Current solutions of the erasure coding process are based on single process approach which is not capable of processing very large data sets efficient and effectively. To prevent the bottleneck of a single process erasure encoding process, we utilize the task parallelism property from a multicore computing system and improve erasure coding process with parallel processing capability. We have leveraged open source erasure coding software and implemented a concurrent and parallel erasure coding software, called parEC. The proposed parEC process is realized through MPI run time parallel I/O environment and then data placement process is applied to distribute encoded data blocks to their destination storage devices. In this paper, we present the software architecture of parEC. We conduct various performance testing cases on parEC's software components. We present our early experience of using parEC, and address parEC's current status and future development works.

The importance of understanding the informationtechnology (IT) adoption process in organizations has been highlighted by many researchers. informationtechnology adoption at individual or organizational level is a highly researched topic in the IT field. Most literature on IT adoption in organizations is often premised on the assumption that IT investment benefits are always obvious after selecting the particular technology. However, it has become sufficiently clear that the anticipated benefits from IT adoption in organizations are not self-evident as they may be elusive and difficult to achieve. This paper explores user perceptions on technology Acceptance Model (TAM) during IT adoption in organizations. The paper is based on two case studies. The study results indicate that TAM may be useful during IT adoption in organizations. The results suggest that TAM has a potential to improve IT adoption success in organizations. The results also suggest that TAM is still relevant during IT adoption in organizations.

Soft errors are significant concern for circuit reliability. Among various adopted techniques to mitigate soft errors effects on system functionality, Error Correcting Code (ECC) is one of the dominant approaches since it reduces cost overhead significantly. This paper deals with a new error correcting coding approach to tolerate soft errors at processor, data path, and memory devices of a computer system. To detect soft errors, the proposed approach introduces 'modular checking' which in turns, is working (decoding and comparing) with even and/or odd numbers of row and column of a two-dimensional array organization of pre-encoded data set rather than the whole matrix. Hence, it reduces the cost by lessen the circuitry needed to implement the scheme and the detection time is reduced as well if the soft error is detected at early modular checking. The proposed approach is able to detect soft errors at any of bit positions and correct those efficiently with reduced cost as well as detection time in a great context.

Computer programming is often presented to students as an abstract discipline that looks aseptic and ultimately boring to many learners;learners find their first computing course uninspiring and programming hard and socially isolating. This causes a decline in the interest in computing among learners. Although there have been many attempts to make computing appealing, more interesting, easier and enjoyable, many educators are still using the classic methods in teaching and learning computer programming. The aim of this work is to call the attention of computing educators to an approach that uses 3D virtual environments to teaching programming. We introduce this approach through a tool that offers innovative methods for teaching wide spectrum of computing topics;Alice. Alice is an innovative programming environment that can be used to create stories by animating characters in a 3D world. Alice is written in Java and has an object-oriented flavor. The paper presents a review of research on using Alice in motivating teaching programming and problem solving, algorithmic thinking, software modeling, and game design and implementation. New trends of using Alice in teaching computing are also suggested.

The UCode is one of the most important code methods in IoT. The Industrial Classification for National Economic Activities (ICNEA) is a classification standard of economic activities drafted by State Statistical Bureau. Based on the analysis of the coding of UCode and Identification code, from the principal of uniqueness of coding and principal of locality of word field's information processing, we present a map method to code the alphabet and decimal digital of the ICNEA by binary UCode, and if finally result scheme of ICNEA code in the format of UCode. This scheme extends the application scope of the UCode.
