With a growing complexity of the intelligent traffic system (ITS), an integrated control of ITS that is capable of considering plentiful heterogeneous intelligent agents is desired. However, existing control methods based on the centralized or the decentralized scheme have not presented their competencies in considering the optimality and the scalability simultaneously. To address this issue, we propose an integrated control method based on the framework of Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). The proposed method achieves a global consensus on energy consumption efficiency (ECE), meanwhile to optimize the local objectives of all involved intelligent agents, through a consensus and incentive mechanism. Furthermore, an operation algorithm is proposed regarding the issue of structural rigidity in DAO. Specifically, the proposed operation approach identifies critical agents to execute the smart contract in DAO, which ultimately extends the capability of DAO-based control. In addition, a numerical experiment is designed to examine the performance of the proposed method. The experiment results indicate that the controlled agents can achieve a consensus faster on the global objective with improved local objectives by the proposed method, compare to existing decentralized control methods. In general, the proposed method shows a great potential in developing an integrated control system in the ITS.

This paper presents a hierarchical planning algorithm for racing with multiple opponents. The two-stage approach consists of a high-level behavioral planning step and a low-level optimization step. By combining discrete and continuous planning methods, our algorithm encourages global time optimality without being limited by coarse discretization. In the behavioral planning step, the fastest behavior is determined with a low-resolution spatio-temporal visibility graph. Based on the selected behavior, we calculate maneuver envelopes that are subsequently applied as constraints in a time-optimal control problem. The performance of our method is comparable to a parallel approach that selects the fastest trajectory from multiple optimizations with different behavior classes. However, our algorithm can be executed on a single core. This significantly reduces computational requirements, especially when multiple opponents are involved. Therefore, the proposed method is an efficient and practical solution for real-time multi-vehicle racing scenarios.

In contrast to centralized controlsystems, distributed controlsystems possess superior flexibility, reliability, scalability and maintenance convenience, when managing intricate tasks and keeping system stable. To actualize the intricate functionalities of machines and streamline the development and maintenance procedures, a methodology for constructing one kind of distributed control system based on PROFINET communication is devised here. This methodology is specifically designed for the development of field devices with Siemens SINUMERIK ONE systems, which are hardware configured and programmed via the automated programming software TIA Portal. This article focuses on the characteristics and establishment methods of the two communication modes for different real-time requirements in PROFINET IO communication, and introduces the building of device network in detail. By applying this methodology, practical verification was conducted on the bevel gear testing machine. The feasibility of the methodology was substantiated by the successful realization of the anticipated function and the system's stable operation.
The consequences of the recent breakthroughs in controlsystems and robotics span a wide range of industries. The study also discusses about the possibilities and challenges of future research in these areas, with a f...
