In the cutting edge domain that is the ever so expanding smart city, the need for development tools that can keep up with such an urban environment is ever so prevalent. Moreover, the rapid expansion of such metropolitan areas requires even more specialists than are currently available. This study presents a pioneering cloud-based solution for intelligent transportation and crime prevention, emphasizing the seamless integration of machine learning techniques within a web deployment framework. Utilizing data from sources like Automated Speed Enforcement, police crime statistics, and traffic monitoring programs, our approach employs advanced predictive analytics to accurately identify potential crime hotspots and optimize traffic management. A significant innovation of this research is the development of a scalable Software as a Service model, which allows for the effective predictions of traffic sensors across urban settings. The proposed system features a user-friendly graphical user interface and employs Dynamic Load Balancing to enhance computational efficiency, making it accessible to a wide range of users. By harnessing cloud computing, our solution offers a versatility for government officials, law enforcement, and researchers, promising improvements in road safety, crime prevention, and the overall quality of life.

The ability to accomplish manipulation and locomotion tasks in the presence of significant time-varying external loads is a remarkable skill of humans that has yet to be replicated convincingly by humanoid robots. Such an ability will be a key requirement in the environments we envision deploying our robots: dull, dirty, and dangerous. External loads constitute a large model bias, which is typically unaccounted for. In this work, we enable our humanoid robot to engage in loco-manipulation tasks in the presence of significant model bias due to external loads. We propose an online estimation and control framework involving the combination of a physically consistent extended Kalman filter for inertial parameter estimation coupled to a whole-body controller. We showcase our results both in simulation and in hardware, where weights are mounted on Nadia's wrist links as a proxy for engaging in tasks where large external loads are applied to the robot.

Multi-cloud environments have emerged as a promising solution for computing, offering scalability, fault tolerance, and vendor flexibility. However, efficient data transfer between multiple cloud providers and data owners is crucial for ensuring optimal performance and timely execution of workloads. This paper explores the challenges associated with data transfer rates in multi-cloud storage systems and discusses various optimization strategies to improve data transfer efficiency. It highlights the limitations of single-cloud storage systems and the unresolved issues related to data transfer in conventional models. To address these challenges, a comprehensive architecture is proposed, integrating multiple cloud storage services and leveraging fog and edge computing paradigms. The study aims to optimize the data transfer efficiency in multi-cloud storage systems.
