In the process of digital transformation of power grids, the 5th generation mobile communication technology (5G) plays a key role in supporting technological innovation in power systems and promoting industry reform due to its characteristics of high bandwidth, high capacity, and low latency. Based on this, this paper introduces the new features of digital smart grid, proposes the new requirements for communication in the digital smart grid, analyzes the application scenario power of 5G communication technology in various aspects of "generation-transmission-transformation-distribution-use"of digital smart grid, and finally presents the challenges and countermeasures for the integration of 5G and power grid. © 2023 IEEE.

With the development and promotion of electric rubber tapping equipment, China has gradually mechanized rubber tapping, but the degree of automation could be higher. This paper designs an intelligent rubber tapping remote monitoring system based on Internet of Things(IoT) technology that is applied to single-motor driven rubber tapping robots and uploads the status data of robots in the rubber plantation to the cloud database for storage, data analysis, and display in the backend management system in order to realize the intelligent and digital upgrade of rubber tapping robots. It can achieve remote group control of the robots in the rubber plantation at the same time using a cloud-based human-machine interface. The system consists of a terminal electronic control subsystem, a communication subsystem, and a cloud-based backend management system. This system uses LoRa RF technology and Narrowband IoT(NBIoT) technology to design a star-shaped network to connect the robots to the cloud for unified management and provide data support for later tapping decisions. © 2023 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of Automation.

"Accident detection is an essential application in intelligent transportation systems for the safety of drivers and passengers. In recent years, deep learning-based object detection models have been leveraged to achieve significant improvements in real-time object detection. YOLO (You Only Look Once) stands out as one of these models due to its real-time performance and high accuracy. In this paper, we propose an accident detection system using YOLOv5, a state-of-the-art version of YOLO. The system is designed to detect three types of accidents, namely vehicle rollover, rear-end collision, and head-on collision. We have employed a pre-trained YOLOv5 model, initially trained on the COCO dataset, and fine-tuned it using a custom dataset of accident images. The proposed system achieves an average precision of 0.94 for vehicle rollover detection, 0.93 for rear-end collision detection, and 0.92 for head-on collision detection. It also demonstrates promising real-time performance, with an average processing time of 0.03 s per frame on an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPU. This system can be seamlessly integrated into intelligent transportation systems to provide real-time accident detection and alerting, significantly enhancing the safety of drivers and passengers on the road." © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

To meet the requirements of high-precision and stable positioning for autonomous driving vehicles in complex urban environments, this paper designs and develops a multi-sensor fusion intelligent driving hardware and software system based on BDS, IMU, and LiDAR. This system aims to fill the current gap in hardware platform construction and practical verification within multi-sensor fusion technology. Although multi-sensor fusion positioning algorithms have made significant progress in recent years, their application and validation on real hardware platforms remain limited. To address this issue, the system integrates BDS dual antennas, IMU, and LiDAR sensors, enhancing signal reception stability through an optimized layout design and improving hardware structure to accommodate real-time data acquisition and processing in complex environments. The system's software design is based on factor graph optimization algorithms, which use the global positioning data provided by BDS to constrain the drift of IMU and LiDAR data, ensuring that the system can maintain accurate positioning through IMU and LiDAR collaboration, even when GNSS signals are limited or completely unavailable. Experimental results show that the system's 3D positioning error in shaded environments is controlled within 7 cm, with a convergence time of no more than 40 seconds. Further statistical analysis reveals a root mean square error (RMSE) of approximately 8 cm and a standard deviation (STD) of 2 cm. During the simulated indoor-outdoor scene transition test, the system's relative pose error remains stable within 10 cm, demonstrating its adaptability and robustness in diverse and complex scenarios. This study provides a technical reference for the hardware construction and system validation of multi-sensor fusion technology on autonomous driving platforms. © 2025 SAE international.

The implementation of systems engineering (SE) offers a solution for organizations facing challenges from digitalization and increasing product complexity and interconnectivity. However, the implementation of SE company-wide requires a holistic approach that considers human and organizational factors beyond just technology and technical processes. This paper presents a systematic literature review (SLR) that aimed to determine the key principles for the effective application of SE in industrial practice. Through open, axial, and selective coding, 12 key principles were identified. Finally, an application example is given to show how the principles can be used to improve the process of the offer phase in special purpose machinery. © 2023 IEEE.

Traditional face recognition techniques exhibit suboptimal accuracy when dealing with faces occluded by masks, particularly posing a challenge for masked face identification. Considering the application characteristics of the service robot, this paper proposes a face recognition method based on a special obscured face feature model. By leveraging the unique characteristics of masked faces, we construct a new feature model and curate a diverse dataset encompassing faces wearing both N95 and common medical masks, thereby enhancing the representativeness and variability of the dataset. Employing a cascade regression tree method for training and parameter tuning, we obtain an optimized regressor with minimal error. Face recognition is achieved through comparing feature vectors using Euclidean distance. Extensive testing on the curated dataset demonstrates the effectiveness of our proposed method, not only validating its superiority over traditional techniques but also showcasing its improved success rate in masked face recognition. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

This research paper introduces a sophisticated arm movement tracking system, leveraging a multi-sensor fusion approach for enhanced precision and versatility. The comprehensive system comprises various components, including a dedicated cabinet, six Leap Motion sensors, six microcomputers, a Kinect depth camera, a KVM switcher, a router, and flex sensors. In addition to the aforementioned components, the integration of flex sensors enhances the system's capability to capture nuanced movements and gestures of the human arm. Flex sensors contribute valuable data to the multi-sensor fusion, further refining the arm movement tracking and providing a comprehensive understanding of the intricacies involved. By quantifying the Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) for each filtering technique, including the data from flex sensors, we gained valuable insights into the accuracy and precision achieved by Particle Filtering in refining data from the specified angles. This approach ensures a thorough validation of Particle Filtering's superior performance when compared to Existing filtering Methods. The systematic evaluation of RMSE serves as a robust method for assessing the effectiveness of Particle Filtering, affirming its potential as a high-performing solution for precise angle estimation and tracking within the context of the presented arm movement tracking system that incorporates flex sensors. © 2024 IEEE.

Deep learning based Single image super-resolution has achieved great success, but the computational cost is too high, making it unsuitable for real-time tasks on resource-constrained devices. In this paper, we propose Residual Local Blueprint Separable Network (RLBSN), which based on RLFN lightweight backbone network. The blueprint separable convolution was used to replace the traditional convolution, which can enhance the extraction of edge information, reduce the number of model parameters, and improve the running speed. The knowledge distillation concept is introduced to calculate loss function and the output of high-performance model is taken as ground-truth to improve the performance of the model. We design the joint loss function that combines the characteristics of various loss functions to generate high-quality super-resolution images. Inference time can be significantly accelerated by transferring post-processing to the GPU. © 2023 SPIE.

The damping system will oscillate during the operation of the adjusting camera, which is not conducive to the operation stability of the adjusting camera. Therefore, in order to suppress the oscillation, the corresponding controller can be designed with the help of particle swarm optimization algorithm, which will be studied in this paper. This is the model obtained in relation to the real system. And, based on this validation, a study and comparison of the various control techniques can be carried out via simulations, with the aim of identifying the best solution for the system. The proposal of the present work is to present a controller for the trail following vehicle based on a model of the vehicle so that the practical result can be compared with the theoretical one on the same model, however with a reduced complexity for the application in a scale model, in addition to incorporating knowledge about the plant with an intelligent controller and verifying its operation in practice. To use the same model in theory and practice, it will be raised based on experimental data, with black box (or empirical) identification techniques, and validated with several tests, seeking to use the smallest number of external sensors possible. This work aims to contribute to the efficient and sustainable integration of EVs into the transportation ecosystem by optimizing the performance of charging infrastructure through the use of Power Factor Correction converters. © 2023 IEEE.
