In Agriculture, the demand for better crops is increasing rapidly and seeks proper management in the development of crop production for a better supply. The principle objective here is to implement the usage of technology, i.e. IoT and sensors to enhance the efficiency of the farming systems by providing farmers with the facility to utilize their time and interests in complete potential. This paper presents a custom-built cost-effective device by utilizing the notion of the MQTT IoT protocol that transfers data through the network systems and collects reports about the soil condition. It takes into consideration several factors that affect the health and living of a plant. These factors include the criteria of pH, temperature and moisture for soil, light availability, air temperature and humidity to take into account the present conditions of the plant. Our IoT device for agriculture enables seamless data collection and availability to cloud even for challenged Internet connection. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

smart grid consists of multiple different entities related to various energy management systems which share finegrained energy measurements among themselves in an optimal and reliable manner. Such delivery is achieved through intelligent transmission and distribution networks composed of various stakeholders like Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs), Master and Remote Terminal Units (MTU and RTU), Storage Centers and users in power utility departments subject to volatile changes in requirements. Hence, secure accessibility of data becomes vital in the context of efficient functioning of the smart grid. In this paper, we propose a practical attribute-based encryption scheme for securing data sharing and data access in smart Grid architectures with the added advantage of obfuscating the access policy. This is aimed at preserving data privacy in the context of competing smart grid operators. We build our scheme on Linear Secret Sharing (LSS) Schemes for supporting any monotone access structures and thus enhancing the expressiveness of access policies. Lastly, we analyze the security, access policy privacy and collusion resistance properties of our cryptosystem and provide an efficiency comparison as well as experimental analysis using the Charm-Crypto framework to validate the proficiency of our proposed solution.

Incomplete or missing data is a significant challenge in real-world information systems that can lead to flawed decision-making. The rough set theory has limitations when dealing with incomplete information systems, and researchers have proposed alternative approaches. This paper proposes a new similarity relation that utilises probable equivalent value sets to improve the accuracy of incomplete information systems. The approach enhances the quality of decision-making and provides reliable results. Experiments conducted on various datasets with different levels of missing data show that the approach can improve the accuracy of incomplete information processing by up to 90%. Compared to existing methods, the proposed approach can handle both categorical and continuous attributes, address problems of non-uniqueness and redundancy of probable equivalent value sets, and is not dependent on any specific data distribution. In conclusion, the proposed technique provides an effective solution to the challenges of incomplete information systems. By using probable equivalent value sets, the approach improves the accuracy of incomplete information processing and enhances the quality of decision-making. It has potential for applications in data science and related areas, and further research is needed to explore its limitations and applicability to real-world problems. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The collection and use of digital data by "smart city" programs raise complex operational and ethical questions that can best be addressed through carefully-monitored pilot studies before urban innovations are more widely adopted. We have created a network of single-owner campuses (academic, government, corporate and nonprofit) in the Cascadia megaregion that connects Portland (OR), Seattle (WA) and Vancouver (BC), where smart city products and services can be evaluated before deployment in neighborhoods and business districts. On the five initial campuses, we are co-locating assemblages of up to a dozen technologies through which issues of data interoperability, management, privacy and monopolization can be explored. The initial research and policy goals of this network are to educate the public about smart cities, improve accessibility for populations with disabilities, prepare city residents for natural disasters, and monitor urban tree canopies so they can better mitigate the urban heat island effect. If replicated in other regions, this testing approach can accelerate cities' responsible integration of data science solutions that can address both local and global problems.

The explosive growth in the number of devices connected to the Internet of Things (loT) and the exponential increase in data consumption reflect the growth of big data in todays generation. The management of such big data gives rise to non-trivial concerns regarding data collection efficiency, data processing and security. For these concerns, researchers have reviewed the challenges associated with successful deployment of loT. Despite large number of studies on big data, analytics, and tort, convergence of these domains creates opportunities for flourishing big data for loT systems. In this paper, we have explored the recent advances in loT systems as well as the key requirements for managing big data and enabling analytics in an loT environment. The literature has been taxonomized on the basis of important parameters. Also, the opportunities resulting from the convergence of big data, analytics, and loT have been identified alongwith discussing the role of big data in LOT. Finally, several open challenges are presented as future research directions.

This paper aims to model the sanitation network and to develop a smart geomatics solution to renovate the management of this network by utilizing a powerful tool, namely Lizmap, an open-source advanced software for developing a geoportal (GIS), with the latest versions of QGIS desktop and QGIS server. Quantitative documents and data are important to the management of the sanitation network as previous difficulties have been experienced due to the use of classic archaic methods of managing data, for example, manual archiving, plans, etc. The rapid growth of the population of the city of Casablanca combined with technical installation problems related to sanitation equipment has generated many ideas for the use of modern resolutions based on developing modern Web-mapping applications (GIS) that are highly suitable for the management of these networks;the city of Casablanca could join other international smart cities by using these kinds of applications. In the interests of efficiency, conceptual object models for various equipment of the sanitation network are realized using a specialized software for spatial modeling, namely ArgoCASEGEO. This modeling is necessary to create a spatial and descriptive sanitation network database. Fine-grained electricity consumption data from smart meters may increase the risk of users revealing privacy. This paper designs a method to realize the hiding of real-time power demand by means of household energy storage equipment (e.g. car battery). By formulating the rate distortion function problem and solving it using Blahut-Arimoto algorithm, the following desirable effects are achieved: 1) the strategy is feasible;2) the mutual information between real-time power demand and preset meter data can be minimized;3) the data shown in the meter are expected. Moreover, in order to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, comparisons with the traditional best-effort and stepping algorithm are conducted. The results show the proposed algorithm has better performance than the above two algorithms with regard to the mutual information metrics. Finally, the influence of maximum battery power on the strategy is also simulated. © 2020 IEEE.

In recent years, global tourism and health-preserving tourism have developed rapidly, and once became a popular vocabulary of Chinese tourism. The purpose of this article is to study the development strategy of health tourism from the perspective of global tourism based on a large amount of data. This article first describes the concept and meaning of global tourism and health tourism, then uses big data technology to analyze the development of health tourism, and finally, proposes the development of health tourism from the perspective of global tourism to comprehensively improve health Service and timeliness of health tourism. The experimental results of this article show that under the background of big data, people’s investment in health tourism is increasing. From 2011–2019, the GDP value has increased from 13.03 billion yuan to 20.40 billion yuan.
