The smart cities development results in the expansion of the list of information technologies used for this purpose. These technologies are given below in the form of matrix and formal description. The proposed list of information technologies includes: Internet of Things, Fog computing, Cloud computing, Information Models, intelligent data Processing and Decision Support Systems, Mobile Technology, Geoinformation Technologies, GRID technology, Confidential Communication and data Protection Technologies. While implementing the procedures for information technology support of the processes in smart cities, it is a common practice to use the models of analytical platforms which are on the open market. At present, their list is quite extensive. This fact creates uncertainty in the analytical platform selection. In order to select the analytical platform, the technique based on the hierarchy analysis method on the ground of procedure of pairwise comparisons of variants is proposed in this paper. The analysis was carried out among such alternative characteristics as computing resources and cloud infrastructure, availability and reliability, ana-lytics, safety and security, cost, application programming interface, support. The obtained results show the highest efficiency of the method of the IBM Bigdata analytics platform. It should be noted that the proposed method is to be implemented taking into account the probable need for the expansion of the set of analytical platforms characteristics and parameters. In the current era, Internet of Things (IoT) is facilitating ubiquitous and smart services to the users. IoT applications are widely increasing day by day in many fields such as healthcare, military, industries, agricultural and smart city. While, IoT application are facilitating smart services to provide comfortable living, many new issues also have emerged. Among the issues, data and user privacy is a serious issue to be considered on priority. To better understand privacy related parameters;we have presented a methodology of Privacy Threat Modeling along with Identification of the sensitive information in the Internet of Things. Then, An Adversary Model is described to clarify and comprehend the target attacks by the adversary in the architectural layers of the IoT ecosystem. A privacy risk map has been presented that will help to understand and fix priorities of the involved risk in IoT ecosystem. An IoT application called as Patient data Provider "PDP" has been presented along with the discussion of the data privacy issues and challenges.

Internet of things (IoT) is part of everyday life nowadays. Millions of devices are connected to the internet to collect and share data. Although IoT devices are evolving quickly in the consumer market where smart devices and sensors are becoming one of the main components of many households, IoT sensors and actuators are also heavily used in the industry where thousands of devices are used to collect and share data for different purposes. A need for an IoT simulation tool is necessary for development purposes and testing before deployments. One of the widely used tools among IoT researchers is the open-source tool Cooja simulator. Cooja has limitations-one is the lack of a way to export collected data as a data set for further processing. Therefore, this study introduces an extension tool to present and export the data into different forms.

In support of an open ecosystem for lifelong and smart learning, this study evaluates the perception of educational stakeholders such as pre-service teachers and blockchain developers about the feasibility of the blockchain technology in addressing the numerous gaps in the implementation of smart learning environment. This research was designed within the international project, smart Ecosystem for Learning and Inclusion (SELI). A total of 491 preservice teachers and 3 blockchain developers from these countries participated in the study. The study data was collected from a questionnaire and interview. Descriptive statistics and content analysis was performed on the collected data. Results from this study indicates that Blockchain technology in the educational field is rarely known, and the frequency of use is quite low. The pre-service teachers surveyed, for the most part, are unaware of the degree of effectiveness of blockchain technology in education. Blockchain developers are of the opinion that Blockchain is still new to many people and resources for education based application are very rare, even if it is there, yet not many are open-source.

With the fast increase of wireless technology, more new applications are developed targeting smart cities. It is clear that soon-to-be, each city will be covered with wireless capabilities besides the 5G cellular technology. In a modern city, the bus riders find themselves waiting for a significant amount of time for a bus while checking their smartphones. It is essential to use the numerous amount of data that can be gathered from these devices and surrounding to serve a better quality for the transportation system while preserving the ridership privacy. As to improve the quality of monitoring the transit buses system, we develop a framework using the Internet of Things (IoT) devices. In this paper, a framework is formed, and two case studies are investigated with various implementations. The goal is to use this framework to collect any data that can be used in smart cities to improve planning and increasing bus ridership through better scheduling. A complete comparison between the two case studies is provided with the performance measurement of each technique, and a hybrid methodology is suggested.

data comprehension is one of the key applications of question-answer systems. This involves a closed-domain answering system where a system can answer questions based on the given data. Previously people have used methods such as part of speech tagging and named entity recognition for such problems but those methods have struggled to produce accurate results since they have no information retention mechanisms. Deep learning and specifically recurrent neural networks based methods such as long short-term memory have been shown to be successful in creating accurate answering systems. This paper focuses on episodic memory where certain facts are aggregated in the form of a story and a question is asked related to a certain object in the story and a single fact present is given as answer. The paper compares the performance of these algorithms on benchmark dataset and provides guidelines on parameter tuning to obtain maximum accuracy. High accuracy (80% and above) was achieved on three tasks out of four.

This study adopts the reference of the revised psychological capital scale, social cultural adaptation scale, sensitivity to cross-cultural communication and cross-cultural communication self-efficacy scale of Yunnan Normal University, 75 undergraduate students to study abroad in psychological, academic and cultural three aspects of cross-cultural adaptability to investigation and study, and comparing to the students to go to the Thailand and Vietnam analysis, found that respondents psychological ability to adapt is relatively lack, cultural adaptation and academic ability to adapt is relatively good, to the students in Thailand and Vietnam significant difference on psychological adaptation and change trend are similar, differences in cultural adaptation and academic adaptation. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.
