A smart kitchen system taking STC89C52RC as the Micro Control Unit (MCU) and regarding Keil uVision 4, DXP2004, as the assistant design software is studied in this paper. This system is composed of temperature and humidity sensor, flame sensor, buzzer, relay, combustible gas sensor, photosensitive sensor, NRF24L01 wireless communication module, and liquid crystal display module. This design can detect the illumination intensity, temperature and humidity, combustible gas concentration, and flame brightness of the kitchen in real-time and display its numerical value on the LCD screen. This system not only can be used for monitoring the environmental safety of the kitchen but can also be used for monitoring the environment of rental houses. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

By innovative use of edge computing technology to construct a node data cache model and step-by-step calculation of node channel separation, a multi-strategy channel allocation algorithm (MSCA) for edge computing is proposed. The mechanism of this algorithm is to use edge computing technology to pre-store the data in the nodes in the multicast tree and calculate the channel separation between the nodes, and then select the transmission channel number of the node with the least interference to avoid mutual interference between node information transmissions. Through experimental tests and comparisons, the MSCA algorithm for edge computing presented in this paper can minimize channel interference and overall network energy consumption while satisfying throughput and end-To-end delay. © 2020 IEEE.

Many significant challenges related to transportation systems have been raised recently, these include the high accidents rate, road congestion, emission of gases, and environment pollution. Furthermore, transportation crashes caused injuries in accident. Researchers investigated virtual methodologies to automate the transportation process that known as intelligent Transport System (ITS). In the last 20 years, ITS have been employed efficiently to enhance the performance of transportation systems, improve security of travel, and provide several choices for travelers. The idea of virtual technologies integration is a novel in transportation field. Collecting data from multi-sources played a significant improvement in ITS, this can help stakeholders for processing different forms of data. This huge amount of data can significantly help in the revolution of ITS. This paper focused on several Autonomous vehicles (AVs) related technologies that employed efficiently in ITS. This review integrates and synthesizes monitoring AVs using data fusion from different data sources. Furthermore, recent technologies and software toolboxes are presented in this paper to facilitate the researchers job in improving the data and sensor fusion in AVs.

In this paper, we describe the experience at smart India Hackathon 2019, a nationwide initiative to provide students a platform to solve some of pressing problems we face in our daily lives, and thus inculcate a culture of product innovation and a mindset of problem solving. The Team 'AndroDigi' was shortlisted for Grand Finale of smart India Hackathon 2019 which was held on 2nd and 3rd March 2019. The team built a solution for Problem Statement "App based valuation and report generation" under Aich Appraisers Auctioneers Organization. Nodal Centre for this team was Chandigarh Groups of Colleges, Landran Mohali. In this study, we analyzed student's perceptions and experience in a hackathon where they were to design a concept for an application for automation for asset valuation report generation. A team of 6 students (3 girls & 3 boys) was selected form 380 teams all over India. By collecting data through questionnaires and interviewing the participants, we applied descriptive statistics rather than exploring into inferential statistics to analyze the data due to the limited number of students. In the end, the results show that the use of hackathon helped in achieving the learning goals and inculcating problem solving mindset. The students expressed their satisfaction in the fact that it provided them with motivation to learn through practice. Also, students agreed that the event helped them to think collaboratively for refined ideas. The overwhelming satisfaction expressed by the students goes to confirm that hackathon brings out the best creative skills from people through problem-solving.

Solid waste management is an important urban issue to be addressed in every city. In the smart city context, waste collection allows massive collection of data representing movements, provided by satellite tracking technologies and sensors on waste collection equipment. For decision makers to take advantage of this opportunity, an analytical tool suitable for the waste management context, able to visualize the complexity of the data and to deal with different types of formats in which the data is stored is *** aim of this paper is to evaluate the potential of an interactive data analysis tool, based on R and R-Shiny, to better understand the particularities of a waste collection service and how it relates to the local city context. The User-centered Analysis-Task driven model (AVIMEU) is presented. The model is organized into seven components: database load, classification panel, multivariate analysis, concurrency, origin-destination, points of interest and itinerary. The model was implemented as a test case for the waste collection service of the city of Pasto in the southwest of Colombia. It is shown that the model based on visual analysis is a promising approach that should be further enhanced. The analyses are oriented in such a way that they provide practical information to the agents or experts of the service. Energy is a key driver of economic growth. A key thematic for distribution utilities has centered upon how to better capitalize upon existing available amounts of energy within an electrical grid. Pragmatic opportunities reside within the distribution system of the grid. By means of examining and validating assumed/purported key nodes as well as properly contextualizing actual key nodes for when expeditious fault location is needed, it is possible to enhance power outage mitigation as well as facilitate more expeditious recovery and restoration of energy. We introduce a data Visualization analytics System (DVAS), which leverages a Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) Engine to assist with correct identification of key nodes that have high impact on distribution utility performance indices, thereby directly affecting resiliency compliance decision-making within a smart Grid and reporting to regulatory agencies. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.

Internet of things (IoT) gives a new proportion of smart farming and agriculture territory. Because with the development of the current world, the internet of things field has peaked with modern technology and modern techniques. In the modern world, IoT is used in every domain like smart city, smart university, smart car park system, etc. This paper is about the implementation of the smart farm. IoT concept helps in cost-efficient farming activities like crop and other resource management. With a wireless sensor network, it is easy to connect with every sensor node placed in the farming environment. Also, with the wireless sensor network, it can connect with long-distance ranges. With the help of a sensor network, it can collect the data from the farming environment and analyze it according to the pre-defined values. The proposed system used IoT sensors to collect the data are soil moisture sensors, temperature sensors, water volume sensors, etc. According to the existing system analysis, the proposed solution contains a smart farm environment and a real-time monitoring system with the wireless sensor network for node connectivity. The proposed system provides a more reliable and flexible smart concept for the farmers, and it is a simple architecture that contains the IoT sensors that collect the data from the farm field and transfer those data through wireless sensor network to the central server and according to the input data, the primary server assigning the task to the particular devices. © 2020 IEEE.

Customers’ requirements for environmental art design are constantly improving, which undoubtedly brings greater challenges to environmental art designers. There are many excellent environmental design schemes around. If we can develop new design schemes according to existing excellent schemes, it will greatly reduce the workload of designers, and at the same time, it will bring excellent practical experience to customers. In view of the above problems, this paper proposes an automatic design method of environmental art design based on large data analysis. By describing the environmental design works with text, and then according to the input statements (i.e. the description of the desired works), using the generation of confrontation network and sorting algorithm to obtain the best match with the existing environmental design schemes, thus completing the automatic design of environmental art design schemes. Through the simulation of existing environmental design cases such as gardens, residential buildings, entertainment cities and office buildings, the results show that the proportion of the method in this paper meets the requirements of customers reaches 95.1%. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.

The present study was performed in some parts of Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh State, India to compare the different quartz indices, feldspar indices and mafic indices according to Ninomiya (2005) and Guha (2016) using thermal infrared (TIR) bands (band 10, band 11, band 12, band 13, and band 14) of Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) data for detecting quartz, feldspar and mafic minerals. Results showed that these indices are equally useful for delineating quartz, feldspar or mafic minerals. It was noticed from the correlation coefficients that Guha's mafic index (GMI) and Ninomiya's mafic index (NMI) presented almost the same result. Guha's quartz index (GQI) was more powerful than Ninomiya's quartz index (NQI) in identifying quartz content in alkali granites and this GQI was also comparable with the Rockwall and Hofstra's quartz index (RHQI) in identifying quartz content in alkali granite.
