Internet of Things (IoT) is growing rapidly as the number of users using smart "things" for communication has increased. The Internet of Things is the interconnection of individually recognizable smart embedded computing gadgets inside the previous web or Internet foundation. Applications find their way in Health Care, Building smart cities, smart Vehicles, Agriculture, and smart Home. There are huge profits of smart home system like being able to lock/unlock homes from a long distance, get notified in case of smoke/fire in the house and automating gadget maintenance. It is especially beneficial to assist elderly people who are sick and prefer to stay home rather than being in a Hospital. Despite the benefits, these devices bring in lot of security and privacy issues. IoT devices have firmware with less computing power and battery. They mostly do not have antivirus software installed. These devices communicate seemingly large amount of data and they are most vulnerable for security attacks like Denial of Service (DOS), Malware attacks and Ransomware attacks. A lot of research work is taking place to address the security issues in IoT Platform. This paper aims to provide a detailed review of the Methods or Techniques that are proposed to secure smart home systems by providing better design, access control techniques, encryption algorithms, and secure software applications. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.

The availability of different types of data collected by Internet of Things-IoT can be exploited to enhance transparency and promote government action for citizens. However, in this field, how has the approximation between government and citizens been achieved for the co-production of digital public services? Thus, this research aims to identify the applicability of IOT in the coproduction of public services and what the characteristics of related models applicable to public administration. In order to do so, this article carried out a systematic review of the literature, in the period from 2012 to 2018. For this purpose, the database of advanced search Scopus. In general, many authors see IoT as facilitating the concept of smart cities, as well as a new way of managing communities based on information sharing and collaboration. Furthermore, the data collected through IoT can improve the capacity to predict problems in the development of a collective intelligence. The review has shown that there are advantages in the co-production of public services from the use of IoT as an instrument for reaching public value for public administration. However, the exploration of quality aspects of e-government service offerings and the understanding of user preferences are research questions that need to move forward in the face of relevance to society.

The concept behind the Internet of Things (IoT) is taking everything and connecting to the internet so that all devices would be able to send and receive data online. Internet of Vehicles (IoV) is a key component of smart city which is an outcome of IoT. Nowadays the concept of IoT has plaid an important role in our daily life in different sectors like healthcare, agriculture, smart home, wearable, green computing, smart city applications, etc. The emerging IoV is facing a lack of rigor in data processing, limitation of anonymity, privacy, scalability, security challenges. Due to vulnerability IoV devices must face malicious hackers. Nowadays with the help of blockchain (BC) technology energy system become more intelligent, eco-friendly, transparent, energy efficient. This paper highlights two major challenges i.e. scalability and security issues. The flavor of edge computing (EC) considered here to deal with the scalability issue. A BC is a public, shared database that records transactions between two parties that confirms owners through cryptography. After a transaction is validated and cryptographically verified generates 'block' on the BC and transactions are ordered chronologically and cannot be altered. Implementing BC and smart contracts technologies will bring security features for IoV. It plays a role to implement the rules and policies to govern the IoV information and transactions and keep them into the BC to secure the data and for future uses. © 2020 IEEE.

Individuals with Parkinson's disease don't have a sufficient substance called dopamine since a few nerves in the brain lose their functionality. Individuals with Parkinson's disease are in deceptive and damaging condition. Diagnosing this disease on the basis of the motor and cognitive shortage is extremely critical. Machine learning approaches are utilized to settle on prescient choices via preparing the machines to learn with the trained information. It assumes a fundamental role in foreseeing Parkinson's disease in its beginning periods. In this paper, our primary goal is to build up an advanced algorithm to accomplish good classification accuracy utilizing data mining techniques. In this procedure, we distinguish some current algorithms (e.g., Naive Bayes, decision tree, discriminant, and random forest) and its execution is broken down. Result acquired through these grouping algorithms is moderately prescient. During the time spent in the computation of these algorithms, Naive Bayes can construct the framework with the high precision rate of 94.11%.

The internet of medical things (IoMT) is relatively new territory for the internet of things (IoT) platforms where we can obtain a significant amount of potential benefits in terms of smart future network computing and intelligent health-care systems. Effective utilization of the health-care data is the key factor here in achieving such potential, which can be a significant challenge as the data is extraordinarily heterogeneous and spread across different devices with different degrees of importance and authority to access it. To address this issue, in this paper, we introduce an intelligent context-based metadata aggregator in the decentralized and distributed edge-based IoMT platform with a use case of early sepsis detection using clinical data. We thoroughly discuss the various aspects of the metadata aggregator and the overall IoMT architecture. Based on the discussion, we posit that the proposed architecture could improve the overall performance and usability in the IoMT platforms in particular for different IoMT based services and applications. © 2020 The Authors.

The county area of Guang-Dong province is vast. Supported by county tourism, Guang-Dong province is a big and strong tourism province in China. The tourism industry has developed rapidly in recent years. It is of great significance to understand the current situation and problems of the tourism competitiveness of Guang-Dong county and to improve the tourism competitiveness of Guang-Dong county. Taking 21 counties in Guang-Dong province as an example, this study selected representative indicators to build an index system of tourism competitiveness of the county, and evaluated its tourism competitiveness by combining big data and factor analysis. On the basis of comprehensive analysis, this paper makes a scientific evaluation on the tourism competitiveness of Guang-Dong county. It also provides scientific reference for the further development of Guang-Dong county tourism. The results of this paper show that the tourism competitiveness of Guang-Dong counties is large in guangshen area and relatively backward in other cities. In tourism competitiveness, tourism market competitiveness and tourism support competitiveness contribute more;there is a positive relationship between tourism competitiveness and regional economic development. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2020.

The complexity of IoT systems and tasks that are put before them require shifts in the way resources and service provisioning are managed. The concept of edge computing is introduced to enhance IoT systems' scalability, reactivity, efficiency, and privacy. In this paper, we present an edge computing solution for resource management of context-aware decision-making processes distributed between IoT gateways. The solution performs decision-making process management for smart actuation, based on analysis of sensory data streams, and context-informed edge computing resource and service provisioning management based on topology and operational changes. Our architectural solution showcases the first version of a Resource Management Framework - a generic framework for software resource orchestration best-suited to IoT platforms with event-driven, publish-subscribe communication mechanisms. Proof of concept experiments that are executed in a simulated edge computing testbed validate our solution's performance in improving the resilience and responsiveness of the edge computing system when there are operational and topology changes. Furthermore, the framework addresses the recovery of failed decision-making processes, impacting the overall health of the underlying IoT system. © 2020 IEEE.

The methodology for assessing the effectiveness of social transformations has been developed, which is based on determining the degree of inconsistency between government actions and expectations of the society, and the synergy (social activity) of people, depending on the above-mentioned degree of inconsistency. A set of tools and services has been developed to quantify the parameters and characteristics of social transformations within the Advanced analytics integrated online platform. These tools allow us to monitor open online publications and social networks on the basis of linguistic sentiment analysis of a large number of messages. The effectiveness of the proposed methodology, tools and services of the Advanced analytics online platform was proved using the example of quantitative assessment of Ukraine's population attitude to actions of the authorities related to the strengthening of quarantine measures aimed at counteracting the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. © 2020 IEEE.

Internet of Things (IoT) has attracted the attention of researchers from both industry and academia. smart city, as one of the IoT applications, includes several sub-applications, such as intelligent transportation system (ITS), smart car parking and smart grid. Focusing on traffic flow management and car parking systems because of their correlation, this paper aims to provide a framework solution to both systems using online detection and prediction based on fog computing. Online event detection plays a vital role in traffic flow management, as circumstances, such as social events and congestion resulting from accidents and roadworks, affect traffic flow and parking availability. We developed an online prediction model using an incremental decision tree and distributed the prediction process on fog nodes at each intersection traffic light responsible for a connecting road. It effectively reduces the load on the communication network, as the data is processed, and the decision is made locally, with low storage requirements. The spatially correlated fog nodes can communicate if necessary to take action for an emergency. The experiments were conducted using the Melbourne city open data.
