Emergence of smart appliances and high performance IoT devices is promoting studies on more functional and intelligent home services using these devices. Especially, in developed countries including Japan with aging population and declining birthrate, it is urgent to develop technologies to monitor living situations of residents including elderly persons and improve their quality of life (QoL) through home services based on the activity recognition technology. However, activity recognition systems in general require many types/number of sensors and hence they are difficult to deploy and operate. In this paper, we propose a system consisting of low-cost and easy-to-deploy sensors based on energy harvesting that can collect data of resident's activities of daily living (ADL) for months without maintenance. The system was deployed in 10 homes of senior citizens where we collected ADL data for two months each. We also estimated the ADLs from the collected data by using long short-term memory (LSTM), a deep learning model. As a result, ADLs could be estimated at high recall rate of 82.4% on average and hence we found that the proposed system has high applicability to actual services.

Blockchain is developing rapidly in various domains for its security. Nowadays, one of the most crucial fundamental concerns is internet security. Blockchain is a novel solution to enhance the security of network applications. However, there are no precise frameworks to secure the Internet of Vehicle (IoV) using Blockchain technology. In this paper, a blockchain-based smart internet of vehicle (BSIoV) framework has been proposed due to the cooperative, collaborative, transparent, and secure characteristics of Blockchain. The main contribution of the proposed work is to connect vehicle-related authorities together to fix a secure and transparent vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication through the peer-to-peer network connection and provide secure services to the intelligent transport systems. A key management strategy has been included to identify a vehicle in this proposed system. The proposed framework can also provide a significant solution for the data security and safety of the connected vehicles in blockchain network.

With the rapid development of network communication technology and intelligent mobile terminals in recent years, location-based services have been more and more widely used in daily life. In order to meet the requirements of high precision, low cost and wide coverage in complex indoor scenes. This paper proposes an indoor pedestrian track tracking method based on the fusion of Wi-Fi signal and PDR(Pedestrian Dead Reckoning, PDR) model based on kalman filter framework. The method combines pedestrian dead reckoning with Wi-Fi location technology to realize pedestrian track tracking. Through experiments, the accuracy of the tracking error within 1m reaches 85%, and the accuracy can reach more than 90% when the tracking error is 1.5m. Based on the comprehensive tracking accuracy, construction cost, robustness and universality of the system, the human trajectory tracking method is better than other common trajectory tracking methods.

Driven by the advanced technologies of vehicular communications and networking, the Internet of Vehicles (IoV) has become an emerging paradigm in smart world. However, privacy and security are still quite critical issues for the current IoV system because of various sensitive information and the centralized interaction architecture. To address these challenges, a decentralized architecture is proposed to develop a blockchain-supported IoV (BS-IoV) system. In the BS-IoV system, the Roadside Units (RSUs) are redesigned for Mobile Edge computing (MEC). Except for information collection and communication, the RSUs also need to audit the data uploaded by vehicles, packing data as block transactions to guarantee high-quality data sharing. However, since block generating is critical resource-consuming, the distributed database will cost high computing power. Additionally, due to the dynamical variation environment of traffic system, the computing resource is quite difficult to be allocated. In this paper, to solve the above problems, we propose a Deep Reinforcement Learning (DRL) based algorithm for resource optimization in the BS-IoV system. Specifically, to maximize the satisfaction of the system and users, we formulate a resource optimization problem and exploit the DRL-based algorithm to determine the allocation scheme. The evaluation of the proposed learning scheme is performed in the SUMO with Flow, which is a professional simulation tool for traffic simulation with reinforcement learning functions interfaces. Evaluation results have demonstrated good effectiveness of the proposed scheme.

The main intention of this development is to build a smart outcome for managing and maintaining data digitally using radiofrequency digitalization (RFID) tags and Quick Response code (QR) codes. The component traceability system either requires significant human effort and supervision or outsized amounts of subsidy and capital. The Real-Time Dynamics monitoring System (RTDMS) solution is designed to manipulate manifold facilities or allow numerous users to scrutiny fact at a solitary competence. This method is employed in the cloud server and has password fortification, which averts unauthorized users from screening or revises facts.

At an era of Industry 4.0 revolution, when it is said that the automation is buzzword among the all the devices/applications available. Still automation in Hospital Management System are far from reality in most developing nations. Automation in the field of Healthcare is the need of today's generation. This would help in providing a lot of functionalities to a patient with the help of a mobile application and other devices (Wearable devices to complex devices in testing centers). Here in our framework, patient details, which can be collected regularly from wearable devices and/or collected from Testing Centers (Clinics) and the case history from any hospital visited previously, all these vital details are stored in central repository irrespective of the hospital he/she visits. At the case of emergency, the patients case history which is stored in Central repository(Cloud). These details at any point of time if made available in any hospital, it can fast track the process in handling the patient. Also, understanding the secrecy level to be maintained in the Electronic Health Record and the way the HSM operates nowadays. This research work proposes to have a framework wherein, Patient related data collected from the wearable devices to the data stored in the CR (Cloud), utilizes Audio-Steganography as tool for Security aspect. The framework proposed would be an ideal solution during the current pandemic COVID-19 situations, with Doctors Forum proposed in the framework would be utilized to the most extent possible way to benefit each citizen at large.

Gene regulatory network provides an effective way to study functional genomes. Reconstruction of gene regulatory network can better help us to reveal the regulatory relationship and complex mechanism between genes, thus exploring the essence of biological systems and lives. At present, the modeling methods of gene regulatory network either solve the problem of accuracy or scale of gene regulatory network by optimizing the model or combining various models. However, with the continuous increase of network scale and the computational complexity, the reconstruction of the network has exceeded the ability of single machine. Thus, we presented the Distributed Local Bayesian Network (D-LBN) method based on MapReduce framework to solve this problem. D-LBN is based on LBN algorithm which uses mutual information method, k-nearest neighbor algorithm, Bayesian network model and conditional mutual information method to reconstruct gene regulatory network. D-LBN realizes distributed computing using MapReduce framework at the step of regulatory direction learning with Bayesian network model to achieve the purpose of reconstructing large-scale gene regulatory network. Experiments based on two scales of dataset is done to verify the performance of D-LBN in reconstructing gene regulatory network at different scales. The results show that D-LBN is consistent with LBN in evaluation index and much more efficient than LBN on large-scale network reconstruction. And the scale of the network that can be reconstructed is also greatly improved.

In the new era of innovation, the ordinary strategy which is the conventional method is still been employed to measure rubber. In the conventional method, the settler needs to bring the rubber to be measured, calculate the result and physically recorded the data into the logbook before bringing the logbook into the FELDA office. Besides, the rubber officer needs to ensure that the weight in which the settler shows match with the recorded data. This routine may lead to misinformation or the information can be faded, lost and misplaced. It takes a lot of time, energy and cost since the settler needs to get the result of total rubber information every day, week and month to be reported to the FELDA office. Therefore, the smart Rubber Scale (SRS) System is proposed which inspired from the conventional process and it was made into the cloud system where it is measured by using the Arduino platform and all the data will be sent automatically into the database using Internet of things (IoT) technology. The SRS hardware devices consist of load cell sensor, scale sensor, Arduino UNO R3, sensor module HX711, Bluetooth module and LCD display. The SRS website is develop by using notepad++ programming, PHP, CSS, SQL, and HTML language. In this system, the staff in the FELDA office and the settler can use it for their convenience. The system will help the staff to automatically store all the rubber weight into the system and it would prevent misinformation, unlike the conventional method whereby the information needs to be recorded manually in the logbook. The settler can see the information anywhere and anytime. The system will record rubber details and the total of rubber collected by settler for every month.

Artificially intelligent systems simulate humanoid qualities in terms of problem-solving by learning, precluding the need for explicit programming. This mimicry of human behavior can be greatly useful in Business Intelligence owing to its potential of predicting how a user group may react to a particular product. This constitutes a Machine Learning task (T), which improves its predictive performance (P) with the increase in experience (E). This paper attempts to build a User Experience-centric supply rating system to estimate Customer Satisfaction on a scale of one to five by taking into account three factors: (a) the opinions of the users from (b) variegated perspectives of the listings and (c) tangible features thereof. The research starts out by hard, statistical computing in that it initially constructs a ranking system that adjusts weights of five different criteria based on rarity, only after assuring their distinctiveness by a statistical ANOVA. Inferential statistics is further applied to sort attributes affecting the ranks after which a labeled dataset is prepared and divided by clubbing certain sequential ranks. Finally a learning-based soft computing algorithm is applied to recognize the patterns and assign the ratings, with zero rankspecific priors. A Neural Network was employed which could approximate with above 97% accuracy on each of its k-fold cross-validations. Thus the efficacy of the qualitative desirability (also, scarcity)-based ranker was established by a case study on travelogue data, showing great potential to be extended over other businesses as well.

Evaluating student performance is important for universities and institutions in the current student education landscape because it helps them create models that work better for students. The automation of various features related to fundamental student traits and behaviours that manage massive amounts of data efficiently processes these. To handle student records that included information about students' behaviour and how it related to their academic performance, the companies employed models of classification with mining concepts. Additionally, the quality of result classification can be substantially improved by using learning analytics and Educational data Mining (EDM). The educational establishments are making an effort to lower the low student performance. To address this issue, numerous methods for assessing student performance have been devised, allowing the relevant faculties to intervene and enhance the final product. Three classes—Low Performance Student, Average Student, and smart Student—were created using the K-Mean Clustering methodology for classifying student records. Features including grade point, number of deficits, student attendance, medium of education, and board of education are taken into account when classifying the data. In this case, the WEKA tool is also utilized for implementing the model and outcome assessments.
