During financial crises or other unexpected events, investors often seek to include lower-risk assets in their portfolios. Some assets are more sensitive than others to such phenomena. In the equities markets, adjustments tend to be made to the shareholdings of companies that are associated with a higher level of uncertainty. In this work, we explore the evolution of shareholder structure of various well-known companies in the technology sector during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. We model, as graphs, shareholder ownership data about twenty US-listed companies between 2020 and 2022. We use freely available tools to explore the bipartite interactions and generate a wide range of topologies that facilitate the identification of how shareholding structures have evolved during the pandemic. In addition, we study the role that some nodes play in the network topology and the process of change that is observed. Our findings include that (1) most investors reduced the amount invested in technology stocks during the pandemic and that these investments tended to bounce back in the post-pandemic era;(2) Vanguard Group, Inc., is the most influential investor in the network;(3) Apple has the highest market capitalization of all technology stocks for all quarters in this study, Microsoft Corp has a significantly lower market capitalization, but a significantly higher number of investors;and (4) While investors for Apple and Microsoft tend to be from London and New York, companies such as Oracle have investors from a variety of locations. © 2022 Copyright for this paper by its authors. Brownfield field development plans (FDP) must be revisited on a regular basis to ensure the generation of production enhancement opportunities and to unlock challenging untapped reserves. However, for decades, the conventional workflows have remained largely unchanged, inefficient, and time-consuming. The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that combination of the cutting-edge cloud computing technology along with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) solutions enable an optimization plan to be delivered in weeks rather than months with higher confidence. During this FDP optimization process, every stage necessitates the use of smart components (AI & ML techniques) starting from reservoir/production data analytics to history match and forecast. A combined cloud computing and AI solutions are introduced. First, several static and dynamic uncertainty parameters are identified, which are inherited from static modelling and the history match. Second, the elastic cloud computing technology is harnessed to perform hundreds to thousands of history match scenarios with the uncertainty parameters in a much shorter period. Then AI techniques are applied to extract the dominant key features and determine the most likely values. During the FDP optimization process, the data liberation paved the way for intelligent well placement which identifies the "sweet spots" using a probabilistic approach, facilitating the identification and quantification of by-passed oil. The use of AI-assisted analytics revealed how the gas-oil ratio behavior of various wells drilled at various locations in the field changed over time. It also explained why this behavior was observed in one region of the reservoir when another nearby reservoir was not suffering from the same phenomenon. The cloud computing technology allowed to screen hundreds of uncertainty cases using high-resolution reservoir simulator within an hour. Sensor data is susceptible to faults, noise, and malicious attacks, posing a significant operational and security threat. Therefore, ensuring reliability of sensor data is critical for real-time monitoring systems. Prior research on sensor data reliability relies on edge or upper-layer devices for data fusion from multiple sensors, employing architectures with major overheads and latency due to transmission and storage demands. An alternative approach is to have the sensor estimate and declare its own reliability. While some methods involve sensors computing data confidence and including it in payloads, limitations arise in the absence of neighboring sensor data, and communication overheads are incurred. To address this problem, this paper proposes an innovative approach to enhance the reliability of sensor data using an intelligent self-declaration process. Proposed reliability estimation is evaluate with three lightweight estimation algorithms, namely, Kalman Filter, Holt-Winters Method, and Mahalanobis Distance using sensor’s historical data. The reliability level is then added to the three reserved bits of a TCP packet header which results in zero additional overhead. Experiments conducted using real-world sensor data (from water quality monitoring systems) obtained from our IoT lab demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposal and the potential for application in real-world sensor-based applications.

Asset management deals with the process of identifying, monitoring, controlling, and supervising the assets for reliable, stable, and uninterrupted operation of the smart grid. Installing and distributing asset management analytics requires a centralized asset health unit to deploy a proactive, high precession network. This paper throws light on the fundamental aspects, giving the main focus on digital twin technology, current trends in the management of transformers and circuit breakers using intelligent relays. The overwhelming importance of Finite Element Analysis, a numerical tool based on minimum potential energy for complex problems with intricate geometry, in the field of asset monitoring and analysis is portrayed using simulations. The Finite element formulation in two-dimensional fields is given primary emphasis. Reliability centered maintenance and Root Cause Failure Analysis increases the independence of the grid, but is prone to data theft and vulnerability attacks. The future trends in this field and the cyber security risk that a smart grid poses are also taken into consideration © 2021 IEEE.

Urbanization has risen the levels of economic, social, and political changes that have led to various serious socioeconomic problems. The unplanned growth of population and development for meeting the needs of the society has made the situation worse have led to such an impactful situation. Urbanization had sown seeds for a sheer growth of transport vehicles on roads with constant or reduced parking spaces in Indian cities. The parking situation worsens in metropolises, where the land is limited and expensive. Shortage of parking spaces leads to traffic congestion, disproportionate demand and supply, saturated parking space, inappropriate tariffs, on-street, off-street parking, cruising, environmental pollution, and degradation are associated problems. Because of the poor management and policies of India, the parking solutions have become extremely overcrowded. The proposed smart parking system envisions smart cities by blending cutting-edge Internet of Things (IoT) based low-cost sensor technology with smartphones enabled payment systems along with real -time data analytics. The collected information can be suitably displayed on billboards, information boards, and other smart boards at various crucial junctions of the city thereby guiding, streamlining, and controlling traffic and congestion. The parking system allows the users to reserve an advance slot, pick a desirable empty location, and cancel the slot if required. The model also proposes to develop a 3-dimensional imagery of the entire solution on display. The smart parking solution would help generate efficient city landscapes by creating a seamless and urban mobility system for effective user experience. However, the solution demands effective data visualization, standardization and analytics, smartphone integration with IoT technology along with stakeholders cooperation and coordination. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Our paper gives first answers on a fundamental question: How can the design of architectures of intelligent digital systems and services be accomplished methodologically? intelligent systems and services are the goals of many current digitalization efforts today and part of massive digital transformation efforts based on digital technologies. In order to enhance patient care and medical decision-making, smart healthcare services are progressively utilizing cutting-edge technologies. Deep learning (DL), one of these technologies, has become a potent instrument for evaluating enormous volumes of medical data, allowing for improved clinical procedures and more precise diagnosis. This study focuses on enhancing smart healthcare services through deep learning-based medical data analysis, with a particular emphasis on Named Entity Recognition (NER) and Relation Extraction (RE) tasks from clinical records. The study is implemented using Python software on the MIMIC-III dataset, utilizing an optimized Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO)-BioBERT model. The model achieved remarkable performance in both NER and RE tasks, with accuracy rates of 99.2% for NER and 99.5% for RE, and F1-scores of 98.1% and 98.8%, respectively. Compared to traditional models like Bi-LSTM and BERT, the PSO-BioBERT model significantly outperformed them, with the proposed model exceeding Bi-LSTM by 6.2% in accuracy and BERT by 12.12%. The findings highlight that the PSO-BioBERT model provides substantial improvements in extracting and classifying medical entities and their relationships from clinical data. These developments revolutionize smart healthcare services by making it possible to analyze unstructured medical information more accurately and consistently. The study emphasizes the effectiveness of deep learning models, particularly PSO-BioBERT, in improving data-driven decision-making in healthcare, which could ultimately enhance patient care outcomes and healthcare system efficiency. Future work could focus on integrating these models with real-time clinical systems for broader applications, including predictive analytics and personalized treatment plans. This approach holds promise for revolutionizing how healthcare data is utilized to improve overall patient care.

High speed communication and data movement is the key for mobile technologies and systems evolutions, which requires broadband communications and intelligent networking. Edge computing uses devices deployed at the edge of the network to preprocess data to reduce the computing pressure on the central server. Through edge computing, smart grid can process large amounts of data faster, meeting real-time, reliability, and high-efficiency requirements. However, as the number of edge devices continues to increase, the problem of leakage and tampering of private data is gradually exposed. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes a lightweight identity authentication scheme suitable for smart grid environment based on Elliptic Curve Encryption (ECC) technology. In the proposed protocol, we encrypt the identity and key information through ECC, and use the timestamp to verify the validity of the session. In addition, the proposed protocol is encrypted with a random number for each round of authentication, and an attacker cannot crack our protocol through a replay attack. Experimental analysis shows that the proposed protocol is safety and key information will not be leaked. Finally, the cost analysis shows that the proposed protocol has lower communication and lower calculation cost than other that of related protocols, and is suitable for deployment in large-scale intelligent smart grid environments. © 2021 IEEE.
