Personalized production is the result of a paradigm shift in manufacturing driven by customers who are seeking increasingly individualized solutions. Consequently, product families with a high number of variants and short innovation cycles force companies to capture smaller windows of opportunity to stay competitive in a global market. Reconfigurable Manufacturing Systems can addre b this trend by enabling the manufacturing system to be reconfigured in response to changing environmental conditions. However, deciding when to execute a reconfiguration and selecting a suitable manufacturing system configuration for the future is a complex task that requires profound knowledge of the manufacturing system and potential environmental influences. Thus, this paper proposes utilizing Digital Shadows to substantiate reconfiguration decisions with a networked information base. To proce b this information into an objective decision support, Time-expanded Decision Networks evaluate a sequence of future reconfiguration decisions with regard to economic and environmental target dimensions. © 2025 The Author(s).

This research paper presents the development of an electronic voting system that utilizes blockchain technology and Zero knowledge Proof to enhance privacy and security during voting. Electronic voting systems have many issues regarding privacy, data integrity, and proper transparency, whereas traditional voting systems face the issue of being cost-effective. This research has solved the previously mentioned issues by using ZKP over the polygon network. Furthermore, ZKP, along with blockchain technology, helps in the decen-tralization, immutability, and transparency of the stored data while maintaining the confidentiality of the voter identity in the process of authentication and vote validation. Moreover, cryptographic verification is aided through role management and a user interface, which results in a quicker verification process than traditional methods. Using a polygon network as the medium for conducting tests has shown a low transaction cost of 0.010 POL to facilitate voting while providing substantial privacy. The approach presented in this research has significantly improved over traditional E-voting systems in terms of cost, security, and scalability, indicating that this approach is better suited for election processes today.

In the current digital media environment, micro-video platforms such as TikTok and Kuaishou have become major channels for content consumption and social interaction. Micro-video classification is crucial for the performance of personalized recommendation systems. However, traditional micro-video classification methods rely on a large amount of labeled data, making it challenging to handle the dynamic emergence of new categories and topics. Therefore, zero-shot micro-video classification has become an important research topic. This paper proposes a Dual Alignment Topic Model (DATM) model that achieves knowledge transfer from known categories to unknown categories through dual topic mining and alignment constraints. Specifically, we use a pre-trained language model to generate word embeddings for class semantic descriptions (CSD) and perform topic modeling on both videos and CSDs. By employing distribution alignment and reconstruction alignment constraints, we effectively mitigate the transfer problem between videos and CSDs. Extensive experiments on real-world industrial datasets validate the effectiveness of our model, significantly improving the performance of zero-shot micro-video classification. © 2025 IEEE.

The development of 21 st century skills are essential to prepare students for success in a rapidly transforming world. However, integrating these skills into programming courses raises challenges as it often prioritizes technical expertise while overlooking soft skills such as creativity. Additionally, traditional programming instruction tends to focus on individual tasks which limits opportunities for students to develop their collaboration and communication skills. As such, this research proposes the integration of collaborative learning and problem-based learning approaches to promote 21 st century skills among secondary school students through learning activities about smart farm programming. The results demonstrated significant improvements across all measured 21 st century skills with Authentic Problem-Solving (APS) and knowledge Creation Efficacy (KCE) as the most substantial growth. Besides, there are significant positive correlations between each of the skills. Creativity (CreT) and knowledge Creation Efficacy (KCE) also emerged as key factors driving the development of other competencies. These findings validate the adoption of collaborative and problem-based learning approaches as effective methods for enhancing 21 st century skills in programming studies and also highlight their importance in the curriculum design to address future challenges in education.

Olive cultivation has witnessed remarkable expansion globally, particularly in regions like the Mediterranean Basin and Morocco. However, olive plants encounter various threats from diseases and pests, such as bacterial blight, olive knot, peacock eye spot, and Aculus olearius infestations, posing risks to productivity and profitability. Traditional disease detection methods, including visual inspection and lab testing, are time-consuming and frequently prone to inaccuracies. In response, recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI), particularly deep learning-based models like You Only Look Once (YOLO), offer promising avenues for early disease detection and management. This paper presents an advanced approach to detecting and identifying olive leaf diseases, focusing on peacock eye spot and Aculus olearius infestations, using the YOLOv8.1.21 object detection algorithm. Leveraging a dataset of 37,200 images sourced from in-field photography and public databases. The model categorizes olive leaves into healthy and infected categories, enabling early intervention and enhanced productivity in olive cultivation. This study highlights the importance of harnessing advanced AI in agriculture, particularly in olive cultivation. By achieving a remarkable mean Average Precision score of 99.5%, the developed detection method for olive leaf diseases holds promise for substantial improvements in plant productivity and profitability in the agricultural sector. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Online exams are a general aspect of education nowadays. However, they are still suffering with several security problems such as data breaches, result-changing cheating, and impersonation scams. Some of the modern systems utilize blockchain technology to improve security but come with problems such as being difficult to integrate, taking time to process, being costly, and lacking adequate privacy protection. This work introduces a blockchain-based structure that addresses these concerns. It utilizes smart contracts in a more improvised manner, employs zero-knowledge proofs to secure privacy. The system provides safe sharing of questions, decentralized storage of answers, and tamper-evident grading. It also has seamless integration with learning management systems (LMS). In comparison to traditional and blockchain-based examination systems, this method provides upgrades in security, efficiency, and speed. With the integration of decentralized technology and state-of-the-art security methods, this system provides internet-based exams that are secure, transparent, and economical.
