This paper discusses the influence of conditional attributes on decision attribute, presents an order of conditional attributes and a method of searching key conditional attributes to decision by rough set theory. Considering the limited bandwidth in mobile computing environment, we describe a method of information measurement of the rule set of selected key attributes. And considering the balance between the number and the information of the rules, we provide a definition of the objective function of drawing rules and discuss its properties. Those contributions may provide some help for rule reduction and mobile decision support.

A hybrid genetic quantum algorithm (GQA) is proposed for edge detection. GQA is based on the concept and principles of quantum computing such as qubits and superposition of states. By adopting qubit chromosome, GQA can represent a linear superposition of solutions due to its probabilistic representation. Thus, GQA has a better characteristic of diversity and better global search capability than classical approaches. We combine GQA and the local search technique to the problem of edge detection. Experiment results show that the algorithm perform well in terms of quality of the final edge image, rate of convergence and robustness to noise.

As a low-cost, all-purpose parallel computing system with the advantages of easy usage and good dependability, the cluster system has become a popular platform in lots of fields. Clustering analyzing is one of the important problems in data mining. Because most of its objects are large-scale databases or high-dimension data, clustering requests more powerful computing availability. So how to develop parallel clustering algorithm based on cluster system deserves attention. This paper proposes a new parallel clustering algorithm called PARCLE for very large databases that are suitable for cluster system. This algorithm adopts data parallelism and asynchronous communication to reduce the communication costs. It applies a new clustering algorithm derived from BIRCH to improve the quality of clustering. Our implementation shows high speedups with negligible communication overheads and good clustering result not less that that of linear clustering algorithm.

Undoubtedly, It makes applications more complex and bulky. Furthermore, failure only in CORBA component can make the whole application system crashed. So it is suggested that the distributed application systems should avoid adopting numerous CORBA service as possible for higher reliability. In this paper, we present a novel design approach to resolve the problem of resource management with few CORBA services as possible. This paper proposes and realizes a decaying co-occurrence model, which can generate the thesaurus of similarity between words automatically. The model can get a more precise thesaurus because it considers the distance between words, which is unlike the common co-occurrence model. But its huge computation makes it impracticable in a very large corpus. In order to overcome this limitation, a parallel computing system for calculating the decaying co-occurrence model has been developed, and has been running successfully on the MPI cluster environment. High speedup and efficiency are obtained. This is a substantive step for the construction of basics resource of Chinese information processing.

Error sensitivity measure is normally a commonly used factor for searching the optimal structure of a neural network. Starting with the derivation of a recursive equation for the update of a reduced order parametric vector based on the full order parametric vector, the error sensitivity measure for use in linear regressor and RBF network pruning is re-derived and an approximated error sensitivity measure identical to that of proposed in optimal brain damage has been obtained. Agent technology is a feasible way to implement modern complicated cooperation system. In this paper, we propose an agent cooperation model AgDRSCoM which can be applied to the complicated dynamic real-time strong cooperation system under the network environment. Based on this model, strong horizontal intra-agent group cooperation and vertical inter-agent group cooperation can be implemented in a new hierarchical structure which is designed for this model - agent group cluster. Motor unit action potentials (MUAPs) recorded during routine electromyography (EMG) examination provides important information for the assessment of neuromuscular disorders. In this preliminary study, support vector machines (SVMs) based on multi-class classifier is activated for the identification of normal subjects and patients suffering from motor neuron diseases (MND) and myopathies (MVO). The results in experiments prove the classification validity of SVMs which guarantee high generalization ability on the testing samples. Furthermore, its performance is compared with a back-propagation (BP) neural network. More excellent recognition accuracy indicates the potential of the SVMs techniques in clinical neuromuscular disorders evaluation.

An intelligent agent based distributed network intrusion detection system (IA-NIDS) is presented. Compared with the current network intrusion detection techniques, IA-NIDS uses the parallel technique to reform and detect the coming packet on the application layer, which widens the scale of intrusion detection.
