High-throughput phenotyping (HTP) of seeds, also known as seed phenotyping, is the comprehensive assessment of complex seed traits such as growth, development, tolerance, resistance, ecology, yield, and the measurement of parameters that form more complex traits [1]. One of the key aspects of seed phenotyping is cereal yield estimation that the seed packaging industry relies upon to conduct their business. While mechanized seed kernel counters are available in the market, they are often priced high and outside the affordability realm of small-scale seed packaging firms. The development of object tracking neural network models such as You Only Look Once (YOLO) enables computer scientists to design algorithms that can estimate cereal yield inexpensively. The key bottleneck of neural network models is that they require a plethora of labeled training data before they can be put to task. We demonstrate that the use of synthetic imagery serves as a feasible substitute to train neural networks for object tracking that includes the tasks of object classification and detection. Furthermore, we propose a seed kernel counter that uses a low-cost mechanical hopper, trained YOLOv8 neural network model, and object tracking algorithms of StrongSORT and ByteTrack to estimate cereal yield from videos captured using a mobile phone. The experiment yields a seed kernel count with an accuracy of 95.2% and 93.2% for Soy and Wheat respectively using the StrongSORT algorithm, and an accuracy of 96.8% and 92.4% for Soy and Wheat respectively using the ByteTrack algorithm. ©2024 IEEE.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the possibility of using low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes to create an information exchange system for robotic systems. The article discusses using of the Richardson- Urbanke coding method with the basic matrix of the 802.11n standard. Also, methods for decoding LDPC codes are considered. The article discusses the MinSum method, as well as a method for improving decoding results called MinSum Normalized. Research was conducted using modeling in the Python programming language to estimate the bit error rate (BER) indicator with different normalization coefficients to obtain a coefficient at which the bit error rate ratio will be minimal. Also, comparisons of the complexity of the MinSum and MinSum Normalized algorithms were presented. Normalized algorithm in particular can significantly reduce the number of errors when transmitting data over a noisy communication channel. The results obtained will be used to develop an information exchange system for robotic systems. The obtained results are planned to be used in the design of a receiving and transmitting device for information exchange in robotic systems. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper works on making a quick and precise testing method for a type of analog to digital convertor called Sigma-Delta ADC. This project talks about a way to test Sigma-Delta ADC using BIST(Built-in-self-test) technique. Proposed solution uses mostly digital module to generate low frequency signal using CORDIC-coordinate Rotation Digital computer algorithm. This method does not need DAC code measuring device since it uses a special algorithm called uSMILE rome to fix the offset and nonlinearity of DAC. Which is controlled by calibrating coefficients. This solution used to measure a changing factor such as test and functionality of SD ADC by using sine wave as input and looking at the SNR, SINAD, and THD from the frequency spectrum. We used a FIR filter to cancel out noise and experimental results are presented. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper introduces a ADC BIST mechanism that uses 12-bit SAR ADC and 14-bit R2R DAC technology. This solution has been used for 40nm automotive microcontroller. On - chip method is used for validating SARADC and DAC static parameter. There are two methods to test BIST off-chip and on-chip. Evaluating the parameter i.e., INL, DNL offline using raw data names off-chip method which required some offline calculation to characterize the BIST circuit, whereas on-chip method does not require this kind of extra calculation. In this method parameter evaluate in background using USER_SMILE algorithm and display pass/fail status based on pre-loaded limits of parameter. Solution has been purposed for reducing cost of testing equipment and testing time. © 2024 IEEE.

This study explores the challenges of frequency insta-bility in isolated island power systems predominantly powered by fluctuating renewable sources like solar panels and wind turbines. These non-interconnected islands with a high reliance on renewa-bles are prone to significant frequency fluctuations due to the var-iable nature of renewable energy sources and their inherently low inertia. The academic community has identified fast-reacting en-ergy storage systems, such as batteries and pump storage, as potential solutions to offset these frequency variations through rapid frequency response services during power imbalances. However, simulations conducted in this paper, suggest that storage systems might struggle to effectively counter severe frequency excursions. This limitation stems from inherent delays in measurement, computation, and communication within their control systems. To im-prove the stability of these renewable-heavy, non-interconnected islands, we propose a viable approach: integrating renewables be-hind the energy storage systems. This method totally decouples re-newables from the grid, ensuring that the network frequency and the rotational speed of thermal generators remain unaffected by abrupt changes in renewable power output. Adopting this strategy could facilitate the integration of additional renewable energy sources in non-interconnected islands without compromising the stability of their power systems. © 2024 IEEE.

An interactive learning system based on intelligent image recognition for young children is proposed. The platform consists of cloud server and learning platform. The learning machine is connected to the cloud server through the Internet or WIFI, and the cloud server includes a cloud service module, a cloud data module, an information comparison module and an information feedback module. The learning machine includes an image scanning module, an image acquisition module, a central processing unit, an image display module, a 3D virtual model modeling module, a 3D scene design module and an interactive roaming experience module. A voice-based interactive system for young children is established. It can promote children's development of language goals. Children's interest in language can be increased through timbre, language input, language conversion, phonetic word conversion and other methods. It can build a "cognition"model in children's brains, enabling children to distinguish the differences between similar things, thereby improving children's cognition level. © 2023 IEEE.

In the context of increasing automation and digitization of production processes, efficient communication and coordination among agents in Multi-Agent-systems (MAS) is crucial for achieving optimal performance and productivity. This study analyzes a MAS's communication and coordination processes utilized in a gearbox assembly scenario. The system is decomposed based on the assembly process, focusing on delay times. Messages are classified based on sender and receiver agents, communication protocols, message types, and query content. Local and network delays of each communication message are measured and compared to modeled delays. The results indicate that modeling delay times before implementation can lead to a more efficient approach to elaborating on complex systems' hard and soft real-time capabilities. The delay times estimated through the analysis can be employed in forthcoming models, enabling the modeling of delay times before system implementation. Additionally, the generalizability of the findings allows for their application to repetitive modules within production systems. © 2023 IEEE.

The domain of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) contains a vast variety of standards, protocols, tool suites, coding languages, etc. The Reference Architecture Model Industry (RAMI) 4.0 provides an abstraction of the different views involved in designing IIoT systems. However, the life-cycle model of the reference architecture suggests a progression from the development into production. This progression does not conform well with the best practices of software engineering, e.g., DevOps, where runtime data is given back to the design-time. In this paper, we suggest an agile life-cycle management of the IIoT systems, and propose an approach of Model-Based systems Engineering (MBSE) based on the System modeling Language (SysML) 2.0. We define metadata in the domain of event-driven IIoT systems. Architects can create tagged model instances, which are automatically validated against system requirements. The validated models are passed to an artifact generator to create code, test cases, or documentation. Our approach assists in the development and commissioning of system assets. We feed the runtime data to design-time to improve the quality of service. © 2024 IEEE.

Icing on power transmission lines poses a serious threat to the safety and stability of power grids. Traditional manual patrols are inefficient and unable to effectively monitor ice conditions on the lines. This paper presents a novel ice-monitoring device that employs cylindrical arrays to predict and monitor icing parameters. By measuring the increase in ice weight on multiple cylindrical surfaces, environmental conditions such as wind speed, temperature, and water droplet content are determined. The device combines advanced modeling techniques to provide real-time and precise data, facilitating timely warnings and preventive actions. Experimental results have confirmed the accuracy of this method, offering a reliable solution for managing ice-related risks in power transmission systems. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

We study the implications of the modeling choice to use a graph, instead of a hypergraph, to represent real-world interconnected systems whose constituent relationships are of higher order by nature. Such a modeling choice typically involves an underlying projection process that maps the original hypergraph onto a graph, and is common in graph-based analysis. While hypergraph projection can potentially lead to loss of higher-order relations, there exists very limited studies on the consequences of doing so, as well as its remediation. This work fills this gap by doing two things: (1) we develop analysis based on graph and set theory, showing two ubiquitous patterns of hyperedges that are root to structural information loss in all hypergraph projections;we also quantify the combinatorial impossibility of recovering the lost higher-order structures if no extra help is provided;(2) we still seek to recover the lost higher-order structures in hypergraph projection, and in light of (1)'s findings we propose to relax the problem into a learning-based setting. Under this setting, we develop a learning-based hypergraph reconstruction method based on an important statistic of hyperedge distributions that we find. Our reconstruction method is evaluated on 8 real-world datasets under different settings, and exhibits consistently good performance. We also demonstrate benefits of the reconstructed hypergraphs via use cases of protein rankings and link predictions. © 2024 12th international conference on Learning Representations, ICLR 2024.
