the installation of medium voltage transformers in wind turbines motivates the wind turbine manufacture, operators and researchers to review the challenges of insulation failure owing to overvoltages. Among these overvoltages, internal resonant overvoltages are most crucial and destructive. One of the protective measures, which decrease the potential of internal resonances, is the selection of appropriate winding type, i.e. disc, layer, and pancake. In this paper, the internal resonances of the three windings are compared and the least venerable one, pancake, is introduced. The focus will be on the assessment of measurement techniques and the sensitivity analysis of the obtained results on them. The motivation was to obtain high quality measurements in the range of 10 kHz-10 MHz so that the modeling and calculation results can be compared with. measurement results show that the RG58A/U coaxial cables have loading effect due to stray capacitance and influence the voltage measurements. It is recommended to apply oscilloscope papers with x10 attenuation. measurement results for input impedance are sensitive on both voltage and current probes. The selection of current transformer CM-100-6L-IR50 provides quite better results compared to current probe Tektronix P6021. It is also found out that the installation of foil around transformer presents more realistic results for both terminal and internal resonances.

The paper presents an analysis of algorithms for the digital processing of current and voltage signals used in the measurement (estimation) of power flow parameters in electric power systems. The study identifies disadvantages that limit the application of widely used methods for digital processing of emergency operating parameters in networks with distributed energy resources. It also indicates how the connection of heterogeneous distributed energy resources to medium- and low-voltage networks affects the operation of the protective relay and emergency control devices. The findings prove the efficiency of statistical approaches in measuring (estimating) the emergency condition parameters when power quality indices fluctuate and show the influence of various distorting factors. Flow diagrams of measuring elements that allow the maximum likelihood estimation are presented with examples demonstrating the estimation of the emergency condition parameters. We have developed an algorithm for the functioning of a multichannel measuring element with digital signal processing. It enables simultaneous estimation of several voltage parameters and has high accuracy when frequency changes and power quality indices deviate from the rated values. The simulation modeling results suggest the possibility of a sizeable reduction in measurement (estimate) error and an increase in the speed of estimation of the emergency condition parameters by the maximum likelihood method.

Qualitativeness of software is one of major problems for establishing its scientific measurement environment in which engineers can measure their products objectively and in an engineering way. To deal with the qualitativeness, automated tools are essential that integrate systems' expertise represented in the forms of software components. Therefore, after introducing our on-going researches to build a scientific measurement environment of database management systems, we present knowledge-based software components and their application to qualitative measurement. We also present the way to model the qualitative states of the components, together with four heuristics for selection of meaningful landmark values.

Rich Internet applications (RIAs) enable novel usage scenarios by overcoming the traditional paradigms of Web interaction. Conventional Web applications can be seen as reactive systems in which events are 1) produced by the user acting upon the browser HTML interface, and 2) processed by the server hosting the application state and logic. In RIAs, distribution of data and computation across client and server broadens the classes and features of the produced events as they can originate, be detected, notified, and processed in a variety of ways. In this work, we investigate how events can be explicitly described and coupled to the other concepts of a Web modeling language in order to specify collaborative Rich Internet applications.
